Do you still do it, if so how often and do you find it more difficult

I’m interested as well - I can hardly lift my mattress, left alone turn it ?

We’re supposed to twist our mattress every month, not turn it over. Problem is, it’s so heavy it rarely gets done

All my mattresses state they are 'no turn' so I don't have to flip them over. What I do occasionally is rotate so that the head end goes down to the foot end. I should say that's what Mr Rosie does

Gawd, I would willingly pay someone to come in once a month and do this. I used to turn it every two weeks, then over the years monthly, now it's about twice a year, maybe less, and I really do struggle. It is so very heavy and awkward. I'm feeling like the next mattress is just never going to to be turned and if that means replacing it sooner then that's fine.

My is a no flip mattress and i do turn it fairly often. It slides really easily round on the base so not too difficult.

I used to but our newish one has a padded top, so no.

My new one’s a rotate, rather than a flip. At the moment, I have no plans to touch it.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to turn their mattress monthly! Once or twice a year would be quite enough. Mine hasn't been turned in years because it's a very thick heavy mattress which has a layer of memory foam on top and this does not go underneath. Maybe I'll get my daughter over to help me rotate it....if I can be bothered.

Used to, since we bought a new one with a memory top it’s become far too heavy.

I get Mr. S. to do it. Twice a year is quite sufficient and you're right Chestnut you can't turn yours but rotating it every 6 months will increase it's life span.

Get your D to give you a hand and wait for the heatwave to subside.

Our rotating one takes all the strength of DH and I, even though it's sliding on wood!!!

Ours slides quite easily on the wooden base and is turned (not flipped) every time the sheets are changed. It does sag a bit at whichever is the top end, and spinning it helps with that. Think we need a new one, probably.

Have an Ikea mattress which needs no proper "turning over". Like some other GNs, posting here, we just "rotate" this on the wooden bed-frame; we do this only occasionally!

Ours doesn't need flipping either, just gets turned every few months. It's quite new but I don't think it's very good - it tends to dip badly where I lie on it.

Never crossed my mind to do anything of the kind. Along with my total non use of rubber gloves and bleach I’m clearly a slattern…

I should rotate mine, but, living alone, I find even this is beyond me. When family visit, perhaps I will remember to as for help.

Mine should be rotated too, but far too heavy! So it doesn’t get done.

Our mattress is so flipping heavy that even if DH is having a good day (his back and shoulders give him hell, most days) there is no way we can or should attempt to turn our mattress.

It isn't made to be turned in the old fashioned manner, but should perhaps be turned head to tail now and again.

So never is the answer to your question.

When I had a lighter mattress it was possible to flip or turn every fortnight but the new memory cannot be flipped so I just turn.

Once a year if I remember.
