A downside to the plantation shutters I had fitted a few months ago is that with the window open at night when they are shut, no breeze can get through. During the day I leave the slats open to allow the breeze through but I live in a bungalow and sleep in the front room so don’t want to sleep in full view of anyone coming to my front door! Luckily the bedroom does not get any direct sunlight owing to the steep overhand of the roof so it’s the coolest room in the house but I am having to use my fan more.
So far, I’ve been able to sleep as normal wearing a nightie with no covers on.
I'm a bit confused? Surely plantation shutters are adjustable according to where the light is coming from? Angled back to shield brightest light angled forward to allow light but maintain privacy. I have very large slatted Venetians that act as shutters, I can flip any combo closed either way to block light shafts but let air in, are your shutters fixed?
