Something (to eat) that you hardly ever buy, because you know you’ll only make a pig of yourself?

Thought inspired by the fact that I just bought a packet of Garibaldi biscuits - I buy them maybe twice a year.

Another is blackcurrant jelly cubes, which I just eat. Twice a year if that.

(People with iron self control who have no idea what I’m talking about, need not reply, thank you!)

Me too...who would have thought that the humble jar of paste could be so popular..I lost my taste March 20 (covid) still not back properly but I could taste Tesco S and T paste so I make sure I always have some in..I think it must be the Umami .,bizarrely i cannot taste peanut butter or marmite.

Chocolate crackles (those cornflake and melted chocolate cakes). DDil always gets some in when I visit.

Used to be: hummous, but I now have hummous on crisp bread for breakfast - 2 slices. This enables me to indulge but control this craving.

I just bought a very naughty bag of jelly babies when I was shopping this afternoon.

Pudding I've just added some to my next Tesco order after posting on here. It's lovely with slices of cucumber on it.

I'm always astonished by people who say they go on a diet on 1st January just when there are so many goodies to be tidied up.

Smileless2012 Mon 18-Jul-22 17:31:01

Whole nut chocolate. Haven't had any for ages and bought some today. It's in the fridge, for how long, who can say.

Kate1949 Mon 18-Jul-22 17:38:33

That's my husband's downfall too Smileless. However he is diabetic and it has to be rationed.

Pringles!

Rowantree Mon 18-Jul-22 18:38:50

Jelly Babies
Walnut Whips
Creme Eggs
Liquorice
Cadburys Dairy Milk
Chocolate eclairs

All strictly off limits.

I'm trying not to remember the large bag of Kettle crisps in the cupboard being saved....for visitors.

Border chocolate gingers (though Morrisons are good too), and barbecued chicken wings from the hot counter at the supermarket!! No-one to watch me, so I can eat them with my fingers and end up feeling as if I’ve been at a cannibal’s tea party!

Lexisgranny Mon 18-Jul-22 18:59:52

Having read through what others have chosen, I feel even more of a pig than before. sad

Maggiemaybe Mon 18-Jul-22 19:05:52

Things I eat by the jar spoon full if I have them in the house - the usual Nutella and condensed milk, and the slightly more weird sundried tomatoes and aubergine pesto.

Maggiemaybe Mon 18-Jul-22 19:09:14

And now I've been prompted by other posts - I also have to ration the Cadbury's Creme Eggs, Cheddar cheese and glace cherries!

Nothing - as I buy all the things I pig out on quite regularly. Why would I limit myself?

A woman after my own heart!

Lexisgranny Mon 18-Jul-22 19:29:25

Oh thank you Maggiemaybe I don’t feel so bad now! Now would add black olives and hummus to my guilty list.

Vanilla ice cream in a tub - there's something wonderful about eating it with a teaspoon promising myself just one more spoonful until it's all gone ...

bluebird243 Mon 18-Jul-22 19:46:42

Clotted cream. Could eat a tub of it. But it's so tempting I have some every time I go to the fridge and see it. Only buy it a couple of times a year.
[But have been known to have cream teas in the summer too. I tend to forget those happened].

I must have one finger of shortbread per day, [a chocolate digestive sometimes], and one square of very dark chocolate each day too. Life's for living.

fairfraise

Wensleydale with cranberries or apricots in it. I can eat it like a slice of cake, if I'm not careful.

This is actually very nice with cake.... ideally a very rich Christmas cake.

Ha ha.

NotSpaghetti Mon 18-Jul-22 20:16:53

How big are your crispbreads M0nica?

grin

Callistemon21 Mon 18-Jul-22 20:22:03

Crumbly fudge
Oh yes, but once in a blue moon!

Digestive biscuits with cheese (and butter)

NanKate Mon 18-Jul-22 21:04:27

Toblerone haven’t dared to have one in years

Helen657 Mon 18-Jul-22 22:05:04

Pringles
Olives
Whole nut chocolate
But particularly ……. Snowballs (choc/coconut shell filled with gooey marshmallow)

Which reminds me - I picked up a pack of 4 snowballs yesterday (first time since lockdown!) & hid them from DH in fridge. I’m off to sneakily eat one right now ?????

timetogo2016 Mon 18-Jul-22 22:20:57

Same here Hetty58.
But i am getting the taste for Tandoori chicken which is a treat about once a year.

Katek Mon 18-Jul-22 22:52:05

Black pepper crackers, eat them dry straight from the packet.
Proper Turkish Delight - I only have a box at Christmas otherwise heaven knows what state my teeth would be in!

Loulelady Mon 18-Jul-22 23:13:22

Biscuits! Only bought for camping as otherwise I’d be too fat to get out of my own front door.

I could get through a whole packet of Hob Nobs in a single sitting, no bother.
