Good morning, all, from an overcast Torbay.

An early trip to Lidl beckons today followed by my Jhoom class this afternoon and another rehearsal for ‘Allo, ‘Allo this evening. Plenty to keep me out of mischief!

It must be disappointing for you, Marydoll, regarding your treatment. I hope everyone is feeling well, especially as the temperature settles to a more usual level. ?????

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Decent day yesterday. Chores completed a walk around a garden centre followed. We enjoyed tracking the course of a plane taking family for a holiday. A long day for them, 14 hours door to door, they must have been shattered by the time they got to their hotel. Most of the rest are off today, their journey should be a little shorter Not something I feel I want to put myself through although I know they will all have a wonderful time.

The much cooler weather means I’ll finally finish the painting I began a couple of weeks ago. Should be done this morning then it’s off to a shopping centre. Mr C has decided he needs some shorts (a first) which will of course herald the start of Autumn!

I was saddened to read your news yesterday marydoll, disappointed on your behalf. Special thoughts to all facing challenges.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a cloudy and much cooler Black Country.

Thursday morning group walk today, which will be pleasant now it is not so hot.

Then onto Mums, where we will go out to lunch in DD's village, SIL and youngest DGD will join us as she finished school yesterday. Her sister is on a day trip with school today. They are all off on holiday Friday, so wanted to see them all before they go.

Eldest DGD flies back from her holiday today, looking at her Instagram she had a lovely time.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts of grandMattie and Marydoll

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Our cleaning ladies are coming today so it will be nice to have a sparkling house. I have some admin things to do and must also prepare something to talk about at a friend’s house this evening. Possibly something to do with feminist theology. I am still in bed and have just realised that I actually feel quite cool with just a sheet on!

BlueSapphire Thu 21-Jul-22 07:06:36

Good morning everyone from a dull and overcast Northampton; no rain here as yet.

Up earlier this morning as my drive cleaner man is coming again to continue with the job; I also have to wait in for a plumber as I can hear a slow steady drip in one of the upstairs loos.
So no dance classes today for me, but I hope to make the evening walk later.

Sorry to hear your unwelcome news Marydoll; you must try to take it easy.

Wishing all a cooler day.

Pittcity Thu 21-Jul-22 07:07:54

Good morning from an overcast and cool Colchester. There's been a bit of overnight rain and it feels much fresher than of late.
I was up later than usual watching the football.
Usual Thursday housework and shopping. No more rain forecast so ideal to get washing on the line. A cuppa first though.
Love to all ? x

MawtheMerrier Thu 21-Jul-22 07:10:10

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is certainly fresher and slightly overcast.
Yesterday’s rain was very welcome though!
Smart meter being fitted sone time this morning and gardener coming (although what she will do other than a tidy up, escapes me.) There might be half a lawn to cut - the rest is mostly beige carpet. Maybe Hoover?
Anyway the heat “crisis “ seems over for now and I hope we can get back to normal.
Marydoll that was a hard message to hear, one always likes to feel there are still options. However, you do seem to be blessed with very caring and conscientious health professionals who know what they are doing.
GrandMattie I hope the last few months are not catching up with you and that rest and the company of good friends will help you to be kind to yourself.
Wishing us all a gentle day!

monk08 Thu 21-Jul-22 07:10:19

Good morning all from a much cooler Black country, we have rain at the moment not to heavy but enough for me not to have to water the garden.
Teddy bears picnic went very well, the children all enjoyed themselves and I think the mums did to.
Shopping today will wait for DH to decide which supermarket he wants to visit, we have a very good choice of 5 within a couple of miles.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels for those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Thursday and may you all find some ?.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 21-Jul-22 07:15:14

Good morning all from a cloudy East Yorkshire. It is a welcome 15 degrees.

Had a much better nights sleep. Makes such a difference.

Today I might go to a little market not too far away. Then GS will be here after school. The last one before he finishes tomorrow. They are away next week to Spain. Don’t envy them as it would be too hot for me at this time. It’s been a bit of a joke that I as the other Mrs H might have to step in as DIL is still awaiting a replacement passport. It may have to be a trip oop north at the weekend to collect it if it doesn’t turn up.

Take care everyone.

Jaxjacky Thu 21-Jul-22 07:24:09

Morning from S Hants, it’s 15 with some cloud. Picked up the grandchildren from school yesterday, my daughter was at a funeral, last day at school today for them all today.
My day on the voluntary phones, we’ve been busy as healthcare is extending over the weekends too.
Hope grandMattie is resting, adrenaline only goes so far ?
Enjoy your day ?

Gingster Thu 21-Jul-22 07:29:09

Good morning all and it’s nice and cool. TG!

Yesterday was lovely with dgd1. We had lunch in a little Italian bistro, then played crazy golf ?. Such fun !!!! , then on to the cinema to watch The Railway Children . A lovely film.

Today we have DGD6 while mum has a few things to sort out. I think the Immunotherapy is starting to affect her. Nausea and tiredness. Her 4th infusion is tomorrow.

We’ll take little gd to Hyde Hall (RHS. ) lots for her to play on and see. Feed the ducks and geese and fish and then a snack in the cafe.

Hoping you all have a good day ?

harrigran Thu 21-Jul-22 07:29:19

Good morning from an overcast NE, no rain here and the heavy cloud meant it stayed warm overnight, kept the Dyson on again.
I spent yesterday catching up with some TV and reading my book, although cooler of late it was still too warm to be doing housework.
DD and SIL are coming and taking me out to lunch in Durham, will be nice not to have to cook in this heat.
Have a good day.

baubles Thu 21-Jul-22 07:30:23

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

A trip over to the capital to see DS and family today. DH will drop the daft dug off at doggy day care, she’ll be tired out when we collect her later.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to withdraw from the trial Marydoll. thanks

Wishing everyone the best possible day.

ginny Thu 21-Jul-22 07:38:06

Good morning all.
A fairly quiet day today. I have a cake to deliver and a few admin. jobs.
Dd3 and the boys will call in later , they are off on holiday tomorrow.

Hoping today is a good one for all.

kittylester Thu 21-Jul-22 07:42:13

Good morning all from a dull but sticky North Leicestershire.

We had about 6 drops of rain last night so we had to selectively water some plants and, as a result, have decided to selectively replace some plants with less thirsty ones.

We are meeting old friends for lunch in Kenilworth so lots of chat and laughter.

brook2704 Thu 21-Jul-22 07:42:25

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bit cloudy but dry
No childcare duties today vas SiL has a day off work so it’s catching up on washing and housework for me today. Hopefully I’ll get an hour or so in the garden too.
Sorry the medical news wasn’t a bit better for you yesterday Marydoll
Hoping everyone on holiday or spending time with family has a lovely time and take care all whatever the day brings ?

grandMattie Thu 21-Jul-22 07:42:34

Good morning from a warm, overcast E Kent.
I’m so sad for you regarding the drug trials, Marydoll. Carpe horam, dear lady.
I have been sleeping so poorly recently that I took a pill last night. I really felt quite ill most of yesterday from lack of sleep.
All the invalid equipment left yesterday afternoon. Just the bed actually served as the rest arrived too late as DH was deteriorating so rapidly. Sad to see the room so empty now. I’m waiting for DS to help me reshuffle the furniture.
DS has gone to visit some friends near Tunbridge Wells. He has been a great support, but deserves some time off for good behaviour. Normally he goes off visiting friends. He is sad not to have been to yet another new country this year. He has visited about 40+ to date, I think. Possibly more!
Stuff to do today. Carpe diem. ??????

Beechnut Thu 21-Jul-22 07:48:02

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s a pleasant temperature.

Belated birthday greetings to MrJax ?for his celebrations.

I went to a meeting yesterday and just as I got back into my car it tipped down with rain. Lasted about five minutes. In the evening I rang my cousin as I hadn’t had a letter from her in a while. The phone rang and rang and eventually I was relieved when she answered. She has much older than me with various health issues but she is always chipper to chat to and she did make me laugh. I said I’d write to her today and fill her in with news from this end.

Hope everyone has the best day they can without too many problems and I’ll go back and have a catch up on this mornings .??

Grammaretto Thu 21-Jul-22 07:58:49

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A humid 21 degrees.
The friend who has been staying returned home yesterday and has just informed me that he has tested positive for covid!
Not sure what, if anything, I should do.
He was worried that he has given it to me
I may stay at home and stare at my parched lawn Mawgrin
Sorry to hear about your disappointment and home it's not a setback Marydoll.
The paint I ordered still hasn't been dispatched. It comes from the Isle of Skye so must be on Hebridean time.

Onwards and upwards everyone. Tomorrow is another day.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 21-Jul-22 08:01:59

Good morning from an overcast Oxfordshire, plenty of rain yesterday evening and it looks as though we also had some overnight, much cooler too.
Dog sitting today, MrOops and MissOops are out with the little car on a road trip, let’s hope it stays dry for them.

If it’s cooler I will tackle the upstairs rooms today, apart from that nothing to do!

My thoughts are with you Marydoll and also with Granmattie

Hugs for those who aren’t having a good time of it lately.

grandMattie Thu 21-Jul-22 08:11:30

Ooh, I’m so jealous of those of you had rain.
Our thunderstorm gave us exactly 3 minutes of on/off rain and that’s it since ????

Greyduster Thu 21-Jul-22 08:12:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire; where it is raining!! At last. We were supposed to have it last night but I looked out at half past three (like yer do!) and it was drizza.
Today I will be giving the house a clean and finishing packing to go away tomorrow. It seems strange, heartbreaking, just to be packing for one. Not to be saying “Do you really want to wear those shorts again this year, they’re falling to bits!” The answer would always be “Of course!” I am travelling in SiL’s car, so will share the backseat with GS, but I have no doubt he’ll be glued to his phone most of the time. My neighbour has offered to water my plants while I’m away but after the searing conditions of the last week, there’s precious little worth wasting water on!
Hope the day is kind to everyone.

Marydoll Thu 21-Jul-22 08:21:32

Good morning all from a cool and cloudy Glasgow, where it's currently 20°C.

Thank you all for your kind messages yesterday. It's strange how all the health things I used to stress and worry about, don't phase me anymore.
Setbacks are the new norm for me, so I have to make the best of the better moments, it's the only way to protect my mental health.

After my very enjoyable visit to the hairdresser's yesterday (it is a hot bed of gossip ?) I decided to pop in and see Dollie on my way home. A hug from her, cures most of my ills!
There was only me, the two customers and the two hairdressers in the shop. The little dog was off the lead and wandering about. The customer did offer to put the lead on, if it bothered me. I was a bit wary of dogs ( my son was attacked by one, as a child), until my Parish Priest's huge dog took a liking to me, so I said it was fine. This little animal then started following me around the salon.
The owner was surprised saying that he never goes to anyone, he really likes you! A very good judge of character, I would say!!?

When I got to DS' house, I noticed a series of missed calls from the NHS. Of course, I was thinking the worst, my procedure had been cancelled. ?
My phone rang again when I was driving. It turned out it was the rheumatology support nurse, checking up on me, after having to come off my RA medication.
I don't like using hands free and I also had difficulty understanding her. She has a Croation/ strong Glaswegian accent, so she said she would call me back later.

As Maw has said I am very fortunate in the care I received.
As soon as I have the results of the gastroscopy, I have to phone the RA department immediately and they will get me up to the clinic to discuss my options.
The hairdresser noticed my scalp was tender and bleeding in places. That too is another horrible side effect, along with hair loss!? This drug is so toxic, similar to chemo.

Today, Mr MDoll has his shingles vaccination. We need to drive to Paisley, as they are centralising everything now. I have insisted in driving, as he is not good driving in town and his big car is difficult to park. I know all the best parking spots.
We will pick up a few things, I have ordered and I have also persuaded him to go for a fish tea, I cannot be bothered cooking!

I'm off to phone M&S, their sale started today, at 7am lots of sizes were gone already.
By the time I went to pay, half my items had disappeared and some of my vouchers were not taken off. There is no indication of which ones, were used! ?

Wishing you all a peaceful and gentle day, with a special mention for GM and all, who are struggling.

Urmstongran Thu 21-Jul-22 08:26:24

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s warm, dry but but dull. We have no plans until school pick up, a quick nursery tea at theirs, jump them into swimwear and off in the car (yay!) to their lessons. The car was ‘reset’ or something yesterday by our friendly mechanic. Wouldn’t accept any money for coming out to sort it saying ‘it was nothing’. Himself pressed a tenner on him ‘for petrol at least’. Result! We are happily mobile again for the foreseeable.
