Good Morning Everyone,
Another cloudy start but dry here in brackley this morning.
I want to try and get back into my routine today ,and get a bus to Bicester , and do my usual there after a break of something like a month or so.
Take Care,
Mick

Hello from the suburbs of Chicago, USA. The temperature is 81 degrees Farenheit.

I wasn't feeling well so I took a rapid COVID test. It was positive. I've had 3 Pfizer vaccines. I'll be at home for a while.

mrshat Tue 26-Jul-22 21:25:03

Well, it's a very late good morning, really more an early good night, but just wanted to say to Marydoll that I hope everything went well for you today and sorry this is so late in the day. Take care x

BlueBalou Tue 26-Jul-22 11:48:24

Good morning everyone, thank goodness it’s cooler weather for a bit.
Dh’s walking DDog so I am doing very little other than sitting in my new recliner having rearranged the furniture, hung out a load of washing and tidied the kitchen.
The painter is sorting out the new fitted wardrobe doors, having painted them, the internal doors come next!
I seem to have completely ground to a halt ?
Dd is coming at the weekend so that’ll be nice and I’m away for 5 days from Sunday, I cannot wait!
Hope those with buggerations and worries get to calmer waters soon x

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Returned last night after a few days in the south, firstly with sister, then DD. Train journeys fine and I made my connections in London on the top of a bus, which I love.
Nice meal in the very pretty Ivy in Windsor followed by a show and a chance meet up with the performers in the pub afterwards, which was fun. There were six of us out for the evening so very jolly.
Now back to reality, but singing at the music club this afternoon. Haven’t practised for days, so fingers crossed…
Thoughts to anyone with worries.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 26-Jul-22 10:02:14

Good morning all from overcast Harrogate with rain threatened whe I come out of the hairdresser this afternoon!!
Fingers crossed Marydoll.
That was lovely to get a call from the nurse GrandMattie
Your name isn’t familiar Jacknjill
Welcome Newbie! Don’t worry about losing track - I do it all the time!!
Hope to hear more of your news!
Some to DD1 she’s taking DGD to a care home to do art work with the residents - interesting to see how that goes!
The new battery should be arriving for my Roomba this morning- it will be good to get it back working. The vacuuming has been a bit slack these days!
Have the best day possible folks

Nannagarra Tue 26-Jul-22 09:39:20

I love the shade you wear Urms and arrive with the intention of selecting it. Once over the threshold an alien appears in the form of a colour chart…???

luluaugust Tue 26-Jul-22 09:31:48

Good morning from a cloudy, cool W Kent. Another free day, I may pop to local shopping centre, haven't been for months. For many years July/August has been GC minding time but now they are all grown up I think we need to rethink.
Marydoll best wishes for today. dustyangel I hope you get your calm until Thursday.

dustyangel Tue 26-Jul-22 09:24:24

I meant to wish everyone else well and as good a day as possible too.

gillgran Tue 26-Jul-22 09:23:27

Good Morning from Cambs., where it is a pleasant 20, (just my preferred temperature!) Still no rain, extremely dry.

Marydoll, hope all goes well for you today.

Warm thoughts for all in need.

dustyangel Tue 26-Jul-22 09:23:12

Good morning everyone. I feel as if I’ve been through a whirlwind and today everything has come to a very pleasant standstill again.
The whirlwind was DH’s, as far as I know, very straightforward hernia operation but DH has been so worried about it that he’s been stressed and ratty and forgetful about everything else. Including which medication to take when and which medical appointment he has to get to next. At the moment we have nothing on until Thursday then the appointments start up again.

Sorry about going on, I just needed to let off steam today.

Otherwise life goes on and apart from the intense heat things are returning to normal.

I’ve only read the first two posts, Mick I’m glad you’re feeling more like yourself again and gMattie, your family sound lovely. smile

Blossoming Tue 26-Jul-22 09:21:53

Good morning Mick and all. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 15°C. It looks like it’s going to be another drizzly day.

I’m enjoying the Gaelic course on Duolingo and yesterday I found the Scots version of Wordle. It’s called MacWordle and has both Scots and Gaelic puzzles. I haven’t attempted the Gaelic version yet grin

The WindOrca must have been quite a sight Greyduster.

Good luck with the procedure Marydoll hope the outcome is a good one.

Tic bites are nasty Gingster hope the meds kick in soon.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed.

Hope today brings some comfort and cheer to us all flowers

Urmstongran Tue 26-Jul-22 09:19:11

Nannagarra I’ve got an appointment for Friday morning to have mine snipped right down and a new colour applied. They usually look like Smarties which is how I prefer them. Look at them this morning! Sooo long. I think in part I was just curious how long I could grow them - but enough now! I’ve never used a nail brush so frequently.

BlueSapphire Tue 26-Jul-22 09:13:05

Good morning everyone a cloudy Northampton.

Not much on the books today except for a health walk after lunch and then coffee with the group.

Annoyed yesterday to find I still had a continual drip coming from behind the bathroom loo; rang the plumbers again but they can't get anyone here till Friday. Have mopped up the water and left a couple of old towels to soak up. Just checked and seems to be ok this morning. Want it sorted before my holiday in a few weeks.

Good luck today Marydoll, hope all goes well for you.

A calm and peaceful Tuesday to all.

Anniebach Tue 26-Jul-22 09:10:06

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

harrigran Tue 26-Jul-22 09:09:25

Good morning from a cooler NE, where it is 13 degrees.
Yesterday it rained on and off, some of the showers were torrential.
Couldn't be bothered with housework so spent some time listening to music and finishing my novel. I then found some DVDs and put one in the machine, it was GD's first birthday party and there was DH carrying H around the garden. DH was still working and looked so healthy then.
Today my elder sister will visit, she has more energy than all the rest of us put together.
Thinking of all the poorly people and those having procedures.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 26-Jul-22 08:57:08

Good morning Mick and everyone from a cloudy and cool Oxfordshire. Hope your trip goes well Mick, good to be getting back to normal again.

Home admin to do today, then we are away for a couple of days, nothing exciting, just a long way to go to get some work done on a car, so I said I’d go with MrOops, maybe I can find some antique centres to while away the time in, they forecast rain so we won’t be wandering around parks or taking long walks anywhere.

Hope all those with hospital appointments or visits have a ‘not too unpleasant’ day and that the time there goes quickly.

Hugs for those who aren't so chipper today.

GrannySomerset Tue 26-Jul-22 08:52:35

Hope you have a satisfactory consultation, Marydoll. Grey and chilly this morning so must find a warmer top but am so relieved to be less hot! Supermarket and admin today.

Urmstongran Tue 26-Jul-22 08:49:26

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s damp and cool here as we had more rain during the night. I slept like a log - no wine & a mug of Horlicks works every time!

No plans so I think I might check stuff ready for our flight back out to Malaga a week today. Can’t wait - we’ve been home 3 months! I only take a large handbag - fits my iPad, Kindle and plastic zip bag of makeup with liquids - lipstick still classed as one. Will this be forever? However Himself takes a grip bag and I might want to squirrel away something in it! I’ve bought another wonder styling hot brush - perfect, as doubtless I’ll be in the pool every day with the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss who swims like a little tadpole now!

They’re off to the cinema today with mum. She’s taking them to see the new cartoon ‘Bad Guys’ at the Lowry. Happy holidays kids!

EkwaNimitee Tue 26-Jul-22 08:46:47

Good morning Mick and everyone from a brightish Carlisle where it's evidently rained overnight.
I mowed the front lawn and tidied up the border yesterday afternoon, came in just as a heavy shower started so good timing there. Showers continued the rest of the day so no further outside efforts were possible. I continued revising my summer outfits. I have so many pairs of light trousers! But I decided I was deficient in decent tops so have ordered some more...handily the sales are now on.
Today I will finish off the heavier housework for this week, put on some more washing and hope to get out in the garden after lunch.

Welcome, JacknJill, not seen you before?

I hope all goes well, Marydoll, sounds tough not even having water to drink.

Have a good day all.

Jaxjacky Tue 26-Jul-22 08:40:50

Morning from an overcast S Hants, at this rate we’ll be on a hosepipe ban very soon.
MrJ back to work so the alarm clock went off, joy.
Stocked up my library books yesterday and stripped leaves off tomatoes, hoping for a good crop, lots of courgettes coming.
Bowls this afternoon, better weather for that than a week ago.
Enjoy your day all ??

ginny Tue 26-Jul-22 08:36:01

Good morning.
Dog is out with the walker for an hour and this afternoon we will take him to a secure field so he can have a really good chase about. Boy can he move!

Hair appointment for me this morning and other bits and bobs to attend to.

Wishing all the best day possible.

Aldom Tue 26-Jul-22 08:33:30

Wishing the best for you today Marydol shamrock flowers

Nannagarra Tue 26-Jul-22 08:32:44

Good morning from the Sefton coast where considerable rain has fallen; currently it’s dry though cloudy.
Yesterday I had another energetic purge, Marie Kondo-style. Ain’t no stopping me now. ? One of the DSs called round, assessed my efforts and declared there was no difference! What a wind up merchant!
Continuing with the frivolity, I later chose to have my ? painted bright pink, Urms! ? Quite a shocking shade…
Ah, Eric Ravilious. I am entranced by the work of his son, James, and can spend many hours absorbed in his b & w photographs of a bygone age. They innocently reveal so much.
The electrician cometh in less than an hour as some spot lights flicker. Using sharp knives under strobe lighting is not advisable.
Have the best day possible everyone.

grandMattie Tue 26-Jul-22 08:22:25

I’ve forgotten to mention that the last person I expected to see, when the doorbell rang on Sunday morning, was the delightful community nurse. Michael had been extremely helpful and articulate about DH, very communicative and an all round treasure, bless him, he found time in his very busy schedule to spend nearly an hour chatting to me. I was so very touched at his thoughtfulness. Viva the NHS!

Georgesgran Tue 26-Jul-22 08:07:48

Good morning from a grey Durham. Still recovering from DGS1 who stayed for the weekend. We had monsoon like rain yesterday - the gutters could barely keep up with it and my washing was soaked, so I had to spin it again and will hang it out again today.
Coffee with friend at lunchtime, then a wander around Boots, with a list, before I collect DD2s dogs - a day early, but I’ll be nearby and am trying to cut down on journeys.
The shredding gM - it took me days! DH kept his bank statements for ever and his
pension stuff for 15 years but the FA said he could find anything for me, with a click of a mouse. ?Marydoll for today.
