No. Stay sure we’re the first ones I tried and they said absolutely not to clinical trials

Its certainly not fair. Have you tried talking to the trial people? Can they help?

I too have cancer and am currently receiving treatment to contain it. So I'll be following this with interest. Thank you for raising this issue, Lucca. I do hope you manage to get to Dubrovnik.

None of it is fair Lucca, it stinks.

Just wanted to add my heartfelt thoughts and love Lucca
I haven’t any knowledge but hope some of the information given by others will help and that you get the holiday you want and deserve

When DH had stage 4 cancer we were given a list of insurers at The Maggie's centre.

We couldn't go in the end due to covid (ironic) but we enjoyed a few days at a Landmark Trust cottage by the sea which we really loved. www.landmarktrust.org.uk/

I hope you have the holiday you want and yes I do think it very unfair. Can you go without insurance? or is that reckless?

That’s very unfair indeed. I recently declined to take part in a Covid trial t the last minute because I was warned it could affect travel abroad. It’s rotten that anyone who wants to do a good thing is penalised for it.

I hope you can find an insurer somewhere. Xx

I really can’t understand it. It’s not the terminal diagnosis that’s in your way, but the fact that you are on a ‘trial’ which could save lives.

Oh Lucca, how I sympathise with you. I am in the same boat as it were, and as soon as you tick the terminal prognosis box, everything grinds to a halt. My cancer is stable and being controlled with chemo tablets.

We just want a short UK break, but you can bet your bottom dollar, Covid could raise it's ugly head. Can you get cover just for Covid? not as far as I can make out. So, like you, I am still looking, and I expect the cost would be as much as the holiday.

I’m furious on your behalf lucca. Very unfair. Can only hope there is one insurer with some common sense.

PS. Have you asked Macmillan? I think I was given something about travel insurance in all the stuff I was given.

I'm going to follow this thread because I've agreed to take part in a cancer trial too - and I'm going to ask loads of questions beforehand.

Honestly don’t know! It was a non invasive procedure too.

I’m currently dealing with a broker who is moving heaven and earth to get me sorted. It does seem unfair, it kind of means nobody can do a trial which might prolong their life if then Their life is restricted.
I know I could holiday in the UK but I really am desperate to go abroad and see somewhere different.
We were planning a cruise Dubrovnik to split on a very small ship. Just for a flipping week !
