Mind saw changes with Sainsburys, fewer checkouts ,and more self checkouts , means fewer staff .
Today ,and easy day at home, and stat to ready for next week .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a bright E Kent. We had a minute amount of rain yesterday, but the skies were still grey and threatening for most of the day.
Did very little yesterday after T’ai chi. DS came home from London in the mid evening and ate what was left of my stir fry dinner.
Today, we are having a rather sad Christmas turkey dinner. In previous years, DS, Philip, DGS and anyone else game for it would join us. DH loved it. This year, it’s just DS and me, and a couple of friends; completely not the same…
I have a doctor’s appointment this morning. The chap at audiology didn’t like my eardrums and wanted them checked by a local ENT specialist- who happens to work in our surgery.
Have a good day, Carpe diem. ????

Good morning Mick and all who follow from dry north Wales where I’m enjoying emptying the chamberpot ….? while MrPG snores for Wales?!

He’ll have to be roused soon as blood? test awaits at our surgery first thing whilst I trot on to Lidl for a major shop - he’s kindly offered to hop on the bus home rather than follow me to be a nuisance help with the bagging….?‍♀️

Hope Miss Marydoll and others awaiting medical miracles are sorted and others like Gwen and her Roomba get the littler irritations out of the way!

This afternoon I’m popping to see my dad who’s not been clever recently and will call on my friend who’s got health issues as well - I hesitate to use the phrase ‘killing two birds….’ under the circumstances, but you get my drift!?

Good morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Haircut for me first thing, it’s long overdue.

A couple of neighbours are coming to visit this afternoon and as well as that DD has asked if she can work from here as her house is a building site at the moment.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from N Bucks where it is bright but pleasantly fresh.
Not usually around at “silly o clock “ but Rosie wanted to go out at 5.30 and I couldn’t get back to sleep, so I’ve put a load of washing on , compiled my shopping list for later this morning and read most of the newspaper.
The film I went to see yesterday “Drawn to War” about the artist Eric Ravilious was possibly one of the most beautiful and charming I have ever seen. There was an extra pleasure in that while looking for parking, I bumped (not literally!) into two very dear friends who used to live across the green from us until they moved three miles away a few years ago. So it was a lovely opportunity to catch up and to discuss the film and the artist with afterwards.
Who watched last night’s football? I wouldn’t normally, but wasn’t it exciting!
Plans for today include a trip to Waitrose with two friends, I dare say coffee and maybe a cake might feature too.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset

Had hoped to still be asleep after two enjoyable, tiring days. It seems not. A pottering day ahead, must complete the grocery order as we have friends coming to stay from Saturday who will expect to eat. How unreasonable is that?

Thinking of all with personal mountains to climb. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Jaxjacky Wed 27-Jul-22 07:00:32

Morning from blue sky in S Hants. Good you got out and about Mick, you’d been missed.
Two hours of bowls yesterday meant I slept well last night.
I’ve got weeding to do in the flower bed, it’ll be tricky as the ground is so hard, watering is now for the veg only as we’re facing restrictions soon unless we get rain.
A voluntary drive today and out for dinner.
Enjoy your day ??

BlueBalou Wed 27-Jul-22 07:00:36

Good morning everyone, it’s a sunny start here.
Not a lot planned so a pootling day here, will do some gardening after DDog’s walk.
I’ve started knitting a jumper so will get on with that sitting in the sun I think.
Hope you all have a good day x

Pittcity Wed 27-Jul-22 07:04:27

Good morning from sunny Colchester. 20° is just right but we could really do with some rain.
Usual Wednesday morning coffee meetup and then driving to Somerset after lunch. We're staying in a pub overnight and going to a family open day at DS's air station tomorrow.
Must pack our overnight bag before I go to coffee.
I'll be thinking of Marydoll as I nip to TKMaxx on the way to return a dress that was made for a skinny person and not for me ?.
Love to all ? x

Grandmadinosaur Wed 27-Jul-22 07:15:27

Good morning all from sunny East Yorkshire.

I have to be up, showered and dressed early today as DH has some zoom meetings at 8 and 8.30. His office is next to our bedroom and I don’t want to be spotted in the background in and out of our room ?

We have been thinking of buying a lodge as somewhere to escape to at weekends and longer periods. We are going to look at one later today. It isn’t too far away which is the plan location wise. We also have another one to look at next week. Quite exciting!

Take care everyone.

ginny Wed 27-Jul-22 07:19:16

Good morning everyone.
DH is off to golf soon. I have nothing much planned. Probably a bit of pottering in the garden and then some craft work or art.
WI committee meeting this evening.
Wishing everyone a good day.

brook2704 Wed 27-Jul-22 07:23:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and grey, yesterday the sun was out fir a while and hope it’s the same today. Good that you got out and about yesterday mick and you’d been missed at the cafe
We’re looking forward to another day looking after with DGD, I think we’re going over to Brodie Castle a local NT property as there’s a good playground there that she enjoys.
I watched the football maw a really good game and a great result!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning all and it’s a lovely day here in the Suffolk coast. Still no rain for us here!

Yesterday we spent a few hours at Orford Ness - a lovely location with a Nature reserve you can be taken to by boat and, of course, the military testing site in both world wars. Top secret experiments were conducted here.

Our toilet flush handle had broken , so an unknown (to us) plumber came to fix it. He looked like ‘swampy ‘ and talked for England . His language was rather colourful but he got the job done and charged us very little. We’ll keep his card.?.

Not sure what’s on the agenda today, but as we have family coming to stay for the weekend, I ought to start getting rid of cobwebs , wood lice and harvest spiders. As we aren’t here all the time, they have the run of the place and take over .

My tic bite is much better and I don’t feel like taking these tablets for 10 days. Doxycycline! What do you think?

GM enjoy your Christmas dinner. It will be emotional , but you have your DS with you to reminisce and remember previous years. ?.

I hope you all have a good day. ?

Grandmabatty Wed 27-Jul-22 07:27:30

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° with blue skies. It look like a lovely day. Yesterday I pottered about and then visited dd and the boys in the afternoon. I made a much nicer loaf as well so I'll have some toasted for breakfast. Later I'll visit mum and my friend who was in Europe last week for a wedding. I look forward to hearing about it. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Wed 27-Jul-22 07:31:16

Good morning all from a cool Glasgow, its only 6°C!

Thank you to all who sent their good wishes yesterday. I plan to have a very quiet day, I'm a bit tired after yesterday's hospital visit.
I have never seen, so many nurses and extremely hardworking ones at that, in one unit! What was reassuring, was that the unit was heaving, but every single member of staff and patient in the hospital was masked. I was feeling quiet vulnerable.

I have a lot to mull over, four entirely different problems were found, none related to the pancreatitis! So I am no further forward there.
Biopsies were done, so now the worry about that, as they couldn't work out what one thing was.
The pancreatitis was actually a blessing in disguise.
The nurses said I was the perfect patient and had I ever thought of a career as a sword swallower, I was so calm, even without sedation.
Little did they know, that I was terrified of what they would find!

One problem discovered was extensive thrush in my oesophagus, leading down to my stomach, as result of taking inhalers and complicated by being immunocompromised. This explains why I often choke on my meds and am permanently hoarse. I had absolutely no idea!
It needs to be dealt with ASAP, before it spreads to other organs, as my immune system can't deal with it.
I was advised to phone my GP immediately for a prescription.
When I tried to call, I got a recorded message, saying: Emergencies only! I couldn't get to talk to anyone. This is the second time this has happened to me.

We had just go home after lunch, when the doorbell rang. I heard DH talking to someone, but didn't pay much attention, because I was making some soup, I was absolutely famished!
I heard a noise and standing beside me, was wee Dollie (holding a box of fresh cream éclairs), who had come to check up on her old gran. ?
I could feel my eyes filling up, as DIL gets such a hard time from her parents ( next door) if she spends too much time with us. It always makes her anxious, but she had made the decision to come and check up on me. ?

We have an unexpected empty, my cup runneth over. I got up at 6am, to see SIL's stuff lying at the front door, ready to go to work! They are supposedly moving out tomorrow (not holding my breath), so SIL needs to go into work today, as opposed to tomorrow! ?????

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.
A special mention to all in the sick bay. ?
GM, enjoy your Christmas Dinner! ?

Good morning all from a very bright North Leicestershire.

I have appointment to get my hair colour done so will do a bit of shopping in town.

Have a good day all.

NanaBabs1 Wed 27-Jul-22 07:32:56

Oh Gingster please keep taking the tablets. You need to avoid Lymes disease at all costs. Taking the tablets for a few days is a small price to pay.
Good morning to all from a ‘lurker’ in sunny, but cool, West Kent

monk08 Wed 27-Jul-22 07:33:23

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Yesterday we went to Tamworth with the boys, after playing in the recently refurbished play area we decided to do a tour of the castle.
When we were climbing the stairs to the tower 3yr old turned to me and said will we see the princess in the tower grandma, wonder what bedtime stories he's been told.
Today DH is looking at another fishing venue, I usually go with him but will give it a miss 2 of his committee are going with him. So I've got an empty.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 27-Jul-22 07:37:19

What a sweet comment by your grandson Monk08

Welcome ?NanaBabs1 and I second that Ginster

NannyJan53 Wed 27-Jul-22 07:42:40

Good morning from a cloudy but increasingly brighter Black Country.

Over to Mums today, as Brother and SIL will be there also. A few weeding jobs in her garden, then lunch.

I watched the football match, and with my limited knowledge felt they played excellently. I have seen men's football which has been very lack lustre in comparison.

MrJ booked a holiday yesterday for September next year for my 70th! We will be going to Sicily! It seems a long way off now, but it will soon be here. shock

Wishing you all a lovely day, hoping Marydoll is ok

Ali23 Wed 27-Jul-22 07:44:24

Good morning Mick and everyone. Not up yet but the sun seems to be shining behind those curtains ?
I had a nice day yesterday and visited a friend for a good chinwag and coffee. I had a late night last night, finishing a great book: The Sea Gate.
Today I’ll take the dog out then nip to see my sister. Probably need to do the hoovering too.

Gangster, I think carry on with those antibiotics. You can’t be too careful with tic bites.
GM, I hope the Xmas dinner goes well. One of a series of bittersweet ‘firsts’ .
Take care, everyone.

Ashcombe Wed 27-Jul-22 07:45:32

Good morning all from a sunny Torbay, where DH and I are on our second TIB. He arrived safely yesterday evening after a journey with no issues.

Going out will help to restore your confidence so I’m glad it worked out for you, Mick.

It’s lovely that you’re keeping the turkey dinner tradition going, grandMattie, despite the poignancy of loved ones lost. Good to have friends along, too.

Grandmadinosaur: Good luck with the lodge idea! My static is my perfect weekend escape where I can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside in contrast to busy Babbacombe, especially in the summer! It’s about 45 minutes' drive from here and I go there to recharge my batteries!

A quiet day with our first rehearsal on stage tonight. Yesterday, we helped to sort out more props to dress the set, much to the delight of our director for ‘Allo, ‘Allo. He’s 78 but very sprightly and bright. A joy to work with.

Happy hump day! ?????

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 27-Jul-22 07:57:07

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed but it looks bright outside. Not sure what I’m doing today. Bits and pieces of admin probably. I will continue putting antibiotic drops in my eye every two hours. It is feeling slightly less painful this morning. Our gardener suggested yesterday that we look into getting a water butt so we may be doing that. We have an outside tap in the back garden but we have to carry watering cans through to the front. There is space in the front for a water butt. She loved my stained glass ornament, which made me very chuffedsmile

Good morning everyone from a rather cloudy Northampton. Have just done an LFT, (as it's book club this afternoon) and then took my alendronic acid tablet, so am waiting half an hour for the result and a cup of tea.

I managed to contact my lovely plumber who refitted our bathrooms, and he turned up yesterday evening, toolbag in hand, and practically dismantled the bathroom to find the source of the leak. He found out which part was playing up and will be back on Friday with replacement parts to fix it.
So glad I contacted him, I feel as if he knows what he's doing, unlike the one my insurance company sent last week. I need to contact them and cancel another visit.

A Sainsburys delivery shortly, and then book club after lunch, the last before our August break.

My covid test is negative, and now my cip of tea awaits! Have a good day rveryone.
