My tic bite is much better and I don’t feel like taking these tablets for 10 days. Doxycycline! What do you think?

I would advise finishing the course, as it sounds like an antibiotic, Gingster, for which the medical advice is to take them all, even if symptoms have improved.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a sunny start to the day. I’ve a couple of errands to run first thing so will go down into the square for a takeaway coffee to keep me company walking around. Then we are calling for my stepfather around noon to take him to M+S food hall. We don’t need anything really as we go away on Tuesday but he will get a trolley to fill up his freezer for the 6 weeks we are away. Luckily it’s the summer and he goes to his bowls club a couple of afternoons a week to watch matches - which is in addition to the evenings when he goes over to enjoy a couple of pints with his friend. For his age he has a great social life!

Enjoy Wednesday all who can. Anyone noticing how the evenings are drawing in already? It’s soon dusk & the lamps are on a good bit earlier. I will really notice it by mid September!

Today it’s a busy one. Going to the gym this morning. This afternoon Nephew and great nieces are coming over for a couple of hours. We are picking DGD up from pre school then her parents and baby B are coming over for tea. SIL has requested my yellow curry.

Good morning all. The weather has been very dull here since last Wednesday but certainly not cold. Today looks sunnier.

Had a heavy childcare load last week. One year old on last Tuesday and three year old on Thursday. Then both of them from 4pm on Saturday till 11:30 on Sunday. This was the first time we have had them overnight and I was on my knees by pickup as I had no sleep at all as the baby wasn’t particularly well. For such small children they fight like crazy. Older one hates her brother messing up all her games and he gets very cross when he’s not allowed to join in and at one point he picked up a toy car and hit her over the head with it. We had GS again again yesterday with a cold and terrible cough which I’m bound to get. Then a month off as we are away for most of August.

From today we are isolating as we aren’t allowed on the cruise ship if we test positive for Covid. Annoyingly we got a call to say our new large corner sofa was ready for delivery but we told them it would have to wait until the beginning of September.

Hope everything went well for Marydoll. So sorry to hear about your neighbour GrandMattie. ?for those who are unwell or have friends and family who are.

Yesterday I had a quiet day until my sister visited at 4pm and then we chatted for hours.
I have an appointment at the medical centre to have my blood pressure checked and then I will do a grocery shop with DD and SIL.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny Northumberland. A late one for me. I was suddenly quite ill last night after a long day out mostly on my feet. I have made a decision not to go out today - I’ll let the others go to Bamburgh as they haven’t seen it. They are catching the bus from here. I will sit and read, draw, watch the birds, and the sea which has been very dramatic the last couple of days. Hopefully I will be back on form tomorrow.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I am not so sunny as a kidney infection laid me low yesterday afternoon, so no gardening after all. Being an active person, I find it very frustrating! The afternoon was lightened by an acquaintance I hadn't seen for a while calling round. We discussed ideas for outings in the autumn. We are both going on holidays shortly and it's no use going into the central Lakes at this time of year, too busy.
Today I shall do whatever jobs I feel up to, no harm done if they wait for another day. I've got a new book to read that promises to be interesting.
Another one who says you should finish that course Gingster both for your own sake and because making sure the bacteria are wiped out, helps prevent them developing immunity to the drug.
I hope the medics get you sorted Marydoll, I wonder if they find you an interesting challenge?!

Gingster, my advice is take the tablets! It's unlikely but if you were to end up with Lyme Disease it could be life changing. My son had a tick bite some years ago when GPs were not so clued up about Lyme Disease. He was quite poorly , went back to GP and insisted on a blood test. They gave him one - it was sent to a centre for tropical medicine! and sure enough he had Lyme Disease!! He ended up on 3 months of antibiotics. He was very lucky not to be incapacitated for the rest of his life. He has been left with a few minor problems but is fine. I don't wish to scare you but please take the medication as a precaution. Believe me not taking the antibiotics is a risk not worth taking !!!

Marydoll I hope the problems uncovered can be helped . I had tubes up and down , due to low blood count , they found problems from the start to the end , but the lovely Doctor wielding the camera never recommended any treatment , it was due to my arthritis medication, I was lucky that was all was wrong

Fortunately, I have managed to get through to the GP surgery and spoke to the recetionist, whose children I taught. She is going to ask my GP to call me. That's another worry sorted! Onward and upward, to fight another day!

Another day of decluttering, meandering down memory lane, freecycling on FB (DH); determination to ditch (me). There really is no choice: we were shimmying through a ever-narrowing pathway plus a new freezer will be delivered tomorrow. Queen Victoria was on the throne when we bought its predecessor so plaudits to Iceland, however there are nul points for the 50% price hike in mozzarella I noted yesterday. A food delivery at lunchtime and DGS’s arrival this afternoon will spur us on!

Another plea to finish the course of tablets gingster. A friend prescribed the same for the same reason was told firmly she must take them all or the outcome was unlikely to be positive.

Washing out and a blank canvas ahead but there is always the next book and and/or brass to clean (but I won’t). Very disappointed that DD and DSiL aren’t coming at the end of the week but DD’s broken arm is still painful and inconvenient and the car journey from Liverpool to Somerset not something she can face just yet. Sorting out DH’s clothes will have to wait, or I could ask a friend to help me. I just don’t want to do it on my own.

I think Marydoll deserves a statue for her contribution to the expansion of medical science. It has long been my ambition to be of no interest at all, so I applaud her efforts. Hope something positive comes out of it all.

Yesterday was housework, then physio exercises, cycling and Gaelic, training for body and mind . Today will be much the same.

Gingster 10 days is the recommended length of treatment to prevent Lyme disease, which can be caused by tick bites, so I think I’d stick with it.

Hope the results are nothing serious Marydoll and I’m glad you got through to the surgery in the end.

What a morning so far!! Had word from a company whom I want to install a minor security system that the deposit had not gone through, it would not go through this morning, so spent 40 minutes on to the bank, trying to understand what a very foreign gentleman was saying!! It took so long to do!! Anyway payment now done.
Marydoll I generally take probiotics to counteract the problems with inhalers?
Gingster Lyme disease is a very real threat from tic bites, you must keep taking the tablets.
Off on a little shop to Morrisons today, then see how my Roomba works when I get back - the carpets have been sorely neglected while it has been indisposed!

Good morning from a glorious Durham. A little uneasy, as a friend phoned yesterday to ask me along for coffee this afternoon. I’ve a nagging feeling there’s something wrong.
Well, I’ve lost my car key (have a spare). Keyless entry, so it stays in my bag and it had to be there last night when I got home and locked the car. Later I went into my bag to swap the key into my dog walking bag and it wasn’t there. I’ve torn the house apart and even emptied out the recycling bin, but there’s no sign. It’s a mystery, but I hope it turns up. Can’t begin to think what a new key might cost.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Still tired after my travels. I’m on cat feeding duty for neighbours and sadly, the lovely chap who organises the music club was taken away by ambulance. He is on oxygen now, has sold his music and keyboard and has had “Do not resuscitate” tattooed on his chest. Part Liverpudlian humour and part what he desires I suspect…it made for a sadder meeting as he was on our minds.
I have been bitten to bu**ery, not sure if I’m not hoovering enough, it’s the CAT or what.
So glad to have an “empty” and recharge my batteries.
Thoughts to the troubled as always.
