Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but with some cloud here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , I did venture to Bicester again on the bus , and since I have changed the way I take my prescribed medication I felt OK.
Today , a small shop as I am away from mid morning on Monday , not much to get .
Apart from watching the women's Tour De France on TV , coupled with the Brum Commonwealth Games, I enjoyed the opening ceremony last night .
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I am having a baking day today and probably a bit of admin too. I heard yesterday that my brother in Australia is back in hospital with heart problems. I am in a WhatsApp group with his two daughters and my sister and we are being kept up to speed by his partner. It’s a worrying time.

Well, I was still in bed at 8 am when my brother rang me from Australia. He was also in bed, in hospital! He will be there over the weekend and will have an angiogram on Monday. He thinks he will probably have to have another stent put in - he thought they should put an extra one in for luck! It was good to talk to him and his partner will continue keeping us up to speed. He has one daughter in Sydney, the other in Melbourne; my sister lives in Sydney and I’m in the UK. He lives in Port McQuarrie.

EkwaNimitee Fri 29-Jul-22 10:49:17

You must have been sick with fear Baubles. Who can forget little James Bulger?

Grammaretto Fri 29-Jul-22 10:41:35

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. I have the day to myself, an empty, as my French helper has been whisked off to enjoy a day at the sunny seaside.

I was wondering how you are Baubles when I read your post. Heart stopping indeed and what a relief to find her safe. It is every mum's worst nightmare.
My DD says she doesn't trust me to have her DC overnight because I confessed that her dog escaped whilst in my tender care and I found her in the pub across the road. blush

A very big well done to your DGD Sar such a big achievement to dance at Disneyland, hoping all goes well !

Nannagarra Fri 29-Jul-22 10:21:03

What a fright for you Baubles. It happens really easily and is everyone’s nightmare. I’m pleased you had a happy ending.

Nannagarra Fri 29-Jul-22 10:16:50

Good morning from decluttering central. The walls of the garage (warehouse/tool hire for DSs’ unusual requests) are now clear to see but for how long will this last? Answers on a postcard, please.
A savings account offering 5%? Wow! I’d LOVE to hear about it.
Enjoy your Friday whatever you have planned - more charity donations, posts on FB and trips to the tip in my case. Onward and upward!

Good morning all from wet Harrogate- I wish I could send you ? buckets of rain Grandmattie
What a scare Baubles. My DD used to frequently make a bid for freedom from 2 - 4 years old. She generally joined another family, I doubt they realised they had another family member! That was in the days with no mobile phones. It was really scary.
Have the best day possible folks

Sar53 Fri 29-Jul-22 09:38:15

Baubles what a fright, I'm so pleased it all turned out well.

I think we can all relate to that sick feeling when we feel we have 'lost' a small child. xx

Oh greyduster enjoy your breakfast at barter books. I love that place and Northumberland is such a beautiful place. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. Late start for work today so enjoying a leisurely morning before I go. Enjoy your day everyone love reading about your lives.

Sar53 Fri 29-Jul-22 09:29:52

A late good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.

DH is having his hair cut as we speak and then I am going with him to help out on the boat.

DD2 and family will have just landed in Paris. DGD1 and her dance company are dancing at Disneyland Paris tomorrow. I think we can watch it online. A very proud Gran here.

Enjoy your day whatever you may find yourself doing, much love to all xxx

Grandmadinosaur you are right we never stop looking after our DC as old as they are.
BlueSapphire your proud day sounds wonderful and Thankyou for putting on the pictures.
MawtheMerrier for some reason I never imagined Rosie to be a greyhound. They are wonderful dogs.
EkwaNimitee ouch! No wonder you had delayed shock that sounds horrific. Hope you are ok today?

I need to go round to our local post office and ask if they will put a flyer in their window for DD she’s setting up her own ante natal classes. She’s offering in detail ante natal classes plus ongoing support post birth to support breast feeding etc. ? it will be a business that will fit around her family rather than in the hospital.

Speak soon ??

Good morning - the sun has come out in Leicestershire.

Nothing planned today - going to do an *Urmston # lazygran as I had a horrid headache yesterday.

What a fright Baubles I still feel sick when I remember losing DD at 3 years old on the beach for 4 hours!
What a lovely day BlueSapphire you must be very proud.

baubles Fri 29-Jul-22 09:24:43

That’s the one Marydoll ?

The police were with us in minutes, both from the palace and the parliament, before the car from the 999 call got to us. They were all very reassuring and kind.

The palace staff gave her a little stuffed royal corgi, she said ‘but Mummy said no more soft toys’. Bless her.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Jul-22 09:22:47

Urmstongran I have just read about your big achievement well done you ??????

luluaugust Fri 29-Jul-22 09:11:40

Good morning all from an indifferent W Kent, supposed to be hot later. Piles of ironing followed by a light shop.
I hope everyone has the best day they can.

Blossoming Fri 29-Jul-22 09:07:49

Good morning Mick and all. It’s damp and cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 16°C.

Just a flying visit today as Mr.B and I are going for a coastal walk and some birdwatching followed by lunch. Coats may be needed. I will read the thread later.

Have the best day you can everyone ???

Marydoll Fri 29-Jul-22 09:04:36

8Baubles*, it is the garden centre near your DD's, I think!

So glad you found the wee one!

NannyJan53 Fri 29-Jul-22 09:01:09

What a frightening experience baubles. Similar happened to my parents when DD was about 4. They were walking at a Garden Fete, when a group of people walked between them. In a matter of a few seconds DD wasn't there. They eventually found her, but even today Mum talks about how upsetting it was,

Jaxjacky Fri 29-Jul-22 08:51:31

Nightmare baubles I can understand why you’re still a bit wobbly today.
Your dental experience sounds horrendous EkwaNimitee my personal fear, I hope today you feel better.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 29-Jul-22 08:49:56

Forgot your cold turkey GM I love it. I had quite a lot of our Christmas effort that I had frozen intending to turn into a curry at some point. The other day I looked online how long to keep it and decided it was past the date so I reluctantly binned it. Very annoyed with myself for not using it sooner.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 29-Jul-22 08:47:13

Baubles I can only imagine how you felt yesterday. It’s such a terrifying few minutes of panic when you lose sight of your child or grandchild. ?

Grandmadinosaur Fri 29-Jul-22 08:46:41

We think along the same lines Urms as that was what I was equating it too. The receptionist was almost apologetic saying none of the dentists want to work for the NHS. Yes we have private healthcare where we can claim it back thankfully.

Phew what a panic for you baubles I can only imagine how you must have felt.

Enjoy the break away and the wedding Ashcombe

Harrigran I was sad to read the Railway children film didn’t live up to expectations. It’s one we were planning to see. Also the Crawdads film having not read the book.

Well done to your son bluesapphire a proud day for you.

We never stop looking after our DC do we Shazza I’m sure the breakfast sandwich went down a treat!

Newquay Fri 29-Jul-22 08:43:54

I’ve heard the tip of taking a photo of DGC when going out so if/when they wander off you can show their photo to folk when you’re hunting! Heart stopping isn’t it? Our DD2 was an escape artist-I could recount many a tale of searching for her! No wonder I went grey early!
Anyway what’s all this talk about ironing? I do hardly any these days -just items of clothing that NEED it!

grandMattie Fri 29-Jul-22 08:43:41

Regarding the turkey. DS absolutely loves it. A small sacrifice for my remaining boy!
