Good afternoon Kitcheners. How sensible Soop. One less worry to think about.

A another hectic couple of days.We had our 4GS’s here yesterday for tea
and 3 for a sleepover. The good thing is they sleep for England (teenagers) and got up about 10am to a full English can’t be bad.

Today is our eldest DS’s birthday he is 49 today
and I really can’t believe it,the years just fly by.
We are all meeting at the local tapas bar later should be fun if I can stay awake.?

Enjoy your evening all.

soop Fri 19-Aug-22 16:34:25

Llfl Yes, they are well balanced and kind and interesting. smile

soop Fri 19-Aug-22 16:36:18

Yia Aren't teenagers wonderful? It's a fact that they need extra sleep. And good appetites, too. wink

BlueBalou Annie has landed on on all paws and is now a member of the family. I love hearing that she was rescued. flowers

Shazza "The book" will not disappoint. I am willing to lay a bet on it. Do let me know your impression in due course. smile

It is beautifully sunny and there is a pleasant light breeze. I am still struggling with accessing the information I need from Rutland Housing Corporation. Every time I try to send an email, I am blocked. Yet, I've been told that the application isn't yet complete. So, what is it that they wish to know? How do I enquire? It's so frustrating. hmm

Away to prepare a pud for Mr S. I am only allowed a pudding on Saturday and Sundays. Barmey. I know. It's simply that I can gain extra pounds merely thinking about food. On special occasions, when we eat out to celebrate, my main pleasure comes from reading the dessert menu. If custard is available, I am on cloud nine. grin Simple pleasures!

A group hug is called for. I trust that you can feel the vibes.
Until tomorrow. smile moon

Oooh grandmabatty you’re such a whizz in the kitchen, the cupcakes are delish thank you - hope the sciatica is better soon
Very sensible soop hope you get the application process sorted out ok and thanks for another lovely photo
I’m just at DD2 house an unexpected last minute request to look after DGS for an hour as DD and DGD are at the hairdressers and SiL playing football. So here we are - DGS is engrossed in the tv so I’m just grabbing a couple of minutes to myself. We’re supposed to be out later too for a little street party at the end of our cul de sac but we’ll be late arriving!
Group hugs all round thank you soop

Just lost a long post so shortened version before I search back to try to remember exactly what I wanted to say.

Definitely a good idea soop, to put your name on Rutland council’s list. I’ve decided I would prefer to relocate back to England permanently if left on my own, despite DD 1 and her husband wanting to come out here when they eventually retire. DH would prefer to stay here. I think it’s not morbid at all to plan ahead.

BlueBalou I love the photo of your very relaxed Annie.

Hi all, tried to catch up, but bound to miss someone, sorry.
Good news on your water muse most of us take it for granted, I know I do.
Hope your sciatica has improved Grandmabatty R&R required, similarly I hope your day has been on the level with no dizziness Blossoming.
Nothing wrong with forward planning soop peace of mind.
I was on the phones yesterday, which meant sorting out lifts today, done now.
Very annoyed this afternoon when Tesco cancelled all deliveries after 1pm, with no notification, email sent to CEO.
We’ve just been to bowls, so I’m have a chilled glass of wine before dinner.
Enjoy your evening all, your cul de sac social sounds like fun brook.

Nannytopsy Fri 19-Aug-22 19:50:47

Hello everyone! Just back from 24 hrs with the baby - hard to believe he will be 2 weeks old on Sunday! He has got the hang of feeding and sleeping so all well. It will be a whole week before we see him again ?.
Muse so glad your water is getting sorted. Still no rain in our part of Suffolk - Monday perhaps?
Have a good evening everyone!

cornergran Fri 19-Aug-22 21:21:39

What a relief muse, pleased your water is on tap again.

That’s more than sensible soop. Hope the blip resolves itself soon.

Several hours of rain here in the last few days. The down side? Grey skies sadly.

Seems an odd cancellation jax. Let us know if you get a response.

Apologies, can remember little more detail so I’ll take my leave of you. TOYA.

Blossoming Fri 19-Aug-22 21:37:49

Good evening dear Kitcheners, no dizzy spells or falls today smile I managed my cycling easily today as it’s much cooler. How lovely to spend time with little Fergus NannyTopsy

Goodnight all, sleep tight x

soop Sat 20-Aug-22 15:47:51

Nannytopsy Baby Fergus will present you and the family with a treasure trove of precious memories. flowers

Blossoming So pleased to hear that your day was dizzy free. I intend returning to the exercise bike routine on Monday. There has been such a lot of catching up to do. I therefore thought that I could be excused for a few days.

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Aug-22 16:17:26

Good afternoon kitcheners. If you are Scottish you will recognise this. I am still hirpling. I've been out with a friend for breakfast and we had a nice time, but my sciatica is bad so I'm lying down. Vegetable chilli for dinner. Dgs2 has now mastered crawling forward and backward so there's no stopping him! Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

soop Sat 20-Aug-22 17:34:27

Grandmabatty Dear of you. Sciatica is a buggeration. I send you a very gentle hug.

Goodnight Kitcheners. I shall return in the morrow. smile moon

Hello everyone

I had a very busy time at the interesting house where I volunteer. I didn’t get home until nearly 6 pm. There were people from Holland, Germany, USA (always so enthusiastic), lots of well behaved children and many more. I’m kna*****d! I hope OH is doing fish and chips for dinner.

brook2704 Sat 20-Aug-22 19:08:42

Just in from a lovely afternoon with DD2 and DGD, well it was lovely until the last 10 mins when it all got a bit too much for DGD ?‍♀️ and well you can imagine … anyway I’m home now and I’m going to fix myself a generous G&T and relax
I had to look up hirpling grandmabatty although I’ve lived in Inverness almost 20 years I’m not Scottish so hadn’t come across that word before. Hoping your much better soon though so you can chase after your DGS2 now he’s mobile - it’s amazing how quickly crawling babies can move once they get the hang of things!

ShazzaKanazza Sat 20-Aug-22 20:05:17

Good evening dear Kitcheners. I’m just sitting out with a glass of wine listening to a band playing up the street somewhere and they are quite good. It’s been very breezy here in Hull today.

We had DD SIL and the GDs for an impromptu visit. Had lovely cuddles from the girls. DH put out a tapas lunch and we’ve finished it off tonight. Bless DD she was very tired and fell asleep on the settee as baby B was up five times feeding in the night in fact she got a bit tearful poor love. GD1 was so lovely she’s just the cutest 3 year old. Baby B has started waving at five months.

Just hoping the party up the street doesn’t get too rowdy. I’ll let you know tomorrow.
Speak soon have a lovely evening. X?

Blossoming Sat 20-Aug-22 22:20:50

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, I don’t know where the day has flown off to! Soop cycling is not compulsory, it’s the safest and most convenient way for me to exercise my legs. Rest is good too, and so necessary after such a busy and enjoyable time. My physio has told me off occasionally for pushing myself too hard. I try to keep a good balance between physical exercise and gentler stuff.

I will try to catch up tomorrow, goodnight sleep tight x

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 21-Aug-22 15:31:09

Afternoon all. DH on call so jumped on bus and visited a couple of local small towns yesterday. Great to have change of scene and the scenery was stunning.
Usual Ddog walks and chores. Weather very changeable but always much cooler than the recent heatwave. Yesterday started as October but ended in June.
Hope all having a good weekend. TOYA

soop Sun 21-Aug-22 15:39:32

A sunny good afternoon to our lovely Kitcheners. We enjoyed a long walk this morning. After which, I attended to a few necessary chores household duties. I have friends awaiting emails from me. Having started, I need to complete the task.

The banks of white daisies at the entrance to the drive, are beginning to "go over" and I have shears at the ready for serious dead-heading.

Our friend who has been visiting and celebrating a diamond wedding anniversary in England, has returned with the Covid virus. We shall not be socialising with him for a wee while.

Mr Soop has asked me to search through hundreds of sunset images. He wishes to make a few greetings card depicting the scenes for a raffle in aid of funds for the new village hall.

Sweetie Pie visited again yesterday. During our absence, our friends placed a fresh dish of food in her apartment...just in case she happened along. The following day, if the food had not be eaten, it was binned. Slugs had realised that food was inside the den. shock We have had an almighty task attempting to strip and wash the interior thoroughly. Not a very pleasant exercise.

Away to continue with my duties. We discovered that we had a mere half glass of gin left when we poured last night's beverage. hmm I was forced to partake of a wee dram of malt instead. wink

Enjoy your evening. I intend returning tomorrow. smile moon

Grandmabatty Sun 21-Aug-22 15:50:18

I hate bloomin slugs with a passion Soop and have a phobia of them and snails. They gar me grue. (Make me ill) The sciatica is still here so I'm resting in between tasks. I've done an hour of Spanish. The chicken is roasting and I'm making cauliflower and broccoli in cheese sauce to go with it. Then strawberries and cream. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Yiayia4 Sun 21-Aug-22 16:38:10

Good afternoon Everyone. It’s very pleasant here warm and sunny but not too hot.
I’m having a bit of a flare of P arthritis. I’ve been overdoing it this past week or so,a few days rest needed now.
Hope your sciatica is easier Grandmabatty not nice at all.
It’s BIl’s funeral tomorrow.I think we will be able to watch the recording, won’t be an easy day.
Have a nice evening Kitcheners.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 21-Aug-22 16:49:01

Hello everyone. It is nearly 5 pm and I’m full of food. We had a delicious lunch in a favourite restaurant near Oxford. I had potato, onion and garlic soup, roast beef etc., and chocolate fondant with caramel ice cream and fresh strawberries. I’m flaked out now with Milo in my lap.
