Soop that lovely boy is another handsome man in your family. ?

I’m about blossoming, it’s just that life is pretty overwhelming at the moment. My own fault in the main, when will I learn that the 74 year old me can’t quite manage what the 34 year old did. ?.

I’ll be keeping an eye on everyone. TOYA.

brook2704 Wed 31-Aug-22 08:17:48

It’ll be wonderful for you to see your DS and DGD today muse after so long, enjoy every minute!

Nannytopsy Wed 31-Aug-22 09:29:15

Have a good visit with the family muse.
DSIL has been at work leaving DD & DGS alone for the first time, so she brought him here plus the dog. It’s meant she can have little naps while we hold him! Two whole days of cuddles? . He has a very efficient bum switch - it wakes him up whenever his little bottom touches a mattress - so he likes to be held. He’s a very content little chap. The modern way is to treat the first three months as your 4th trimester, snuggling, feeding and generally pampering the little one and yourself. It sounds quite familiar to me but with a new title!
Got to go - it’s my turn soon ?

Rather pleased with these:

annsixty Wed 31-Aug-22 10:43:05

Those look lovely Llfl and a perfect match for the paint.
BUT is there any worse job than hanging curtains?
Not in my book.
I had my last ones fron Dunelm and they fitted them
Job done.
I am off to Southport for two nights with my friend across the road.
I have my fingers firmly crossed because last time we had "an exchange of views" not very amicable.
I shall keep my lips firmly zipped this time.
A bit like aspects of GN at the moment.
We will ride it all out.
Best wishes to all poorly or caring for someone and all of you have the brst day you can

Grandmabatty Wed 31-Aug-22 12:45:06

Ladies, I probably won't post for a while. There are family issues which are bothering me and I need to deal with. Dd, sil and the boys are absolutely fine but other family members are causing upset. Just in case you wonder why I'm not around. My good wishes to you all.

Blossoming Wed 31-Aug-22 13:03:15

Ali23 Wed 31-Aug-22 17:00:50

Just catching up (again) dear kitcheners, reading your kind posts. Best wishes to all those who are dipping out for a while or just lurking but not posting. Sometimes just 5 minutes sitting quietly in Soop’s kitchen is enough to lift the spirits when times are tough.
? ? ? for all

Enjoy your days in Southport Annsixty hope there are no disagreements, I like Southport we went in the summer wish we had stayed longer ,Maw thread wasn't very nice yesterday don't let it upset you .Muse enjoy the time with your family. Grandmabatty hope issues are soon sorted. We have had a visit from dd and2gc today they have both been hyper !!

MawtheMerrier Wed 31-Aug-22 17:15:35

Phew!
Does everybody collapse in a coma when AC/GC have left?
I only had D, SIL and Flynn plus dog for 2 days (including a baby sit last night when, bless him he tried so hard to stay awake until “Mummy got home”)
I have had healthy walks, lunch in a pub garden, played at the village playground plus at a local country park, played Game of life twice and they left an hour ago.
I am zorsted! and it is so quiet sad I think Rosie had fun too and the dogs enjoyed lying in each others’ beds and eating out of each other’s dishes!
I should give the sitting room a good Hoover and strip the beds but ? ? ? !

I have been reading a book given to me for my birthday - The Book of Joy. Conversations between the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu with Douglas Abrams. It is inspirational and I realise that, once again, I've not properly caught up with my favourite peoples.

Tomorrow, for sure. smile [moonn

varian Wed 31-Aug-22 17:44:52

Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama - both so cheerful and upbeat at all times. If I visualise them, they are smiling. If only there were more Tutus and Dalai Lamas and Nelson Mandelas.

Thinking about them and about Martin Luther King, who I was priviliged to hear speak in Newcastle just a few months before his death, makes me feel guilty about going around with a long face.

Their cheerfulness was utterly genuine, stemming from a belief in the power of the human spirit, not the artificial optimism of a politician trying to pull the wool over voters' eyes.

Blossoming Wed 31-Aug-22 18:02:15

Good evening dear Kitcheners, it has been a pottering kind of day. Supermarket shop this morning and bakery order collected, all carried out by Mr. B while I had a lie in smile I did put the shopping away though. Usual exercises and cycling, towels washed, kitchen worktops cleaned, Gaelic practice and listening to my audiobook. It’s decidedly autumnal here, will be snuggling down after tea.

brook2704 Wed 31-Aug-22 19:31:20

Hope things improve soon grandmabatty, I think family troubles are always stressful and unsettling, sending a big hug, we’ll miss you so come back soon, even just to say hello

Have a lovely break away in Southport annsixty and hope all goes well

You definitely deserve a rest now maw sounds like you’ve had the best of times but I know that exhausted feeling well! Time to relax and recharge

Another gorgeous sunny day here in Weymouth, we’ve had a rest day today so not much walking but catching up with a bit of washing and then a short wander around the town. My legs and feet are still ok, luckily no blisters. DHs knee is a bit iffy especially on the downhills, he’s slow on the downs and I’m slow on the ups! We’re walking around Portland tomorrow and then onto Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove on Friday ?
