Oh neine that’s so beautiful. And life affirming. flowers

I agree Dusty. You should write a book Neine, your writing is so evocative.

Wishing Mr muse a very Happy Birthday! ???
Just in from the garden so I’ve made a cup of tea and munching on a Rich Tea biscuit. It’s been a lovely warm sunny afternoon here and I’ve been pruning a few large shrubs, got lots of weeding done and re-routed a little garden path around a large plant that I didn’t want to move. DH has been out most of the day at work this morning and then doing a bot of gardening at DD2s house this afternoon
I hope soops appointment is going well
neine you could definitely write a book with such writing skills!
Think it’s a quick chicken salad to eat later so not much prep needed ?

Blossoming Tue 13-Sept-22 19:06:11

It’s been lovely and sunny here too Brook but without the searing heat of August. I did the holiday laundry, cleaned the boots, tidied away the unpacked bits and pieces and studied Gaelic for an hour. I’m feeling quite sleepy now. Hope Soop’s appointment has gone well. Goodnight all.

Grannmarie Tue 13-Sept-22 19:31:25

Lovely photos of the lighthouse at Corsewall Point, thank you Blossoming. We used to take the boys a run out there for a picnic when we had a caravan at Stranraer in the 80s... memories! I think there was the wreck of a container ship nearby?

So much Kitchen news to catch up on...
Best wishes for your appointment, Soop, thinking of all with health and dental check ups.

Must get organised and drive through to DS2's for childcare day tomorrow.

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a good day. I drove OH to Bristol so he could see a Consultant about his various ailments. He was pleased with the hour and a bit he had with her. I had forgotten what a nightmare driving in central Bristol is. My daughter lived in Clifton when she was a student. Every time we visited we got lost! I am now watching Bake Off which I recorded so I can fast forward the adverts.

cornergran Tue 13-Sept-22 21:39:53

I’m with you about Bristol llfl. Had knee surgery there this time last year and am summoned for a check next week. Dreading navigating the city. We can do it of course, just doesn’t mean we want to smile.

Decent enough if rainy day here, nothing exciting, dust removal and my covid top up jab. Enjoyed a chat with number one son while he was driving home. Far too late for his well-being but not my business although of course I worry. We also love Tenby , neine, your writing took me straight back there.

TOYA.

Grannmarie just a few weeks before my brain injury we had been staying in Portpatrick and walking parts of the coastal path. The Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel was the first place we stayed after my brain injury and I always feel so ‘at home’ there. Mr. B used to take me to the old flying boat station at Wig Bay so I could practice walking on the smooth sand there. I love Galloway smile

Ooh Cornergran and Llfl...are you local (ish) to Bristol? Does anyone ever meet up? Thank you Kitcheners for your lovely comments... I'm just now beginning to collate some of my tales. My friends have been telling me to do it for years so they could reread them. I've decided not to go to London as much as I wanted to.... It's not fair to sit in a car with 3 others and potentially pass on this cold. Also the queue could stretch as much as 5 miles and I don't think my hip and dodgy bits will hold up. So I'll quietly pay my respects in a way that I think the queen would approve of... I'll take the dogs for a walk and say a prayer of thanks for a life well lived...and for her dedication to us and to her vows made 70 years ago.

Good Wednesday afternoon greetings to you lovely lot.

It was a full-on busy day yesterday. The weather was kind. The journey not too disruptive what with road works and such. One observation - whenever we stopped at a traffic light, folk had thought it appropriate to toss rubbish out of their cars on to the grass verge. I cannot express my disgust at such mindless selfishness.

Anyway, the appointment at Ross Hall was as good as it gets. The Colostomy, performed in February, was considered to be 100% successful. The surgeon said that it was a bold decision (for a lady of vintage years) but absolutely the right decision. He added..."you look younger..." which made me smile. Mr Soop mumbled, "smoothie".

Here ae are home again and I have many emails to respond to. Also, I wish to watch the procession of the Queen's coffin en route to Westminster Hall. Our grandson, Ethan, is there to witness this historic event.

I appreciate that many of you have been busy leaving messages in our kitchen. I intend playing catch up just as soon as I'm able. flowers

Just popped in to say how lovely to get such good news soop. So pleased you are feeling so well.

Blossoming Wed 14-Sept-22 12:41:15

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. An update, I had my delayed telephone with the colon cancer care team this morning. After the usual chat about how I’m doing Nurse Sarah said they’re really happy with my progress. They are going to send me for more blood tests, If all is well and if my surgeon doesn’t want a further CT scan I will be discharged in October, as it will then be 5 years since my surgery. After that I will receive the usual postal screening kit that everyone gets after a certain age. It’s seemed like a long haul but we got there smile

Blossoming Wed 14-Sept-22 12:43:56

Crossed posts Soop, that’s wonderful news!

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 14-Sept-22 12:54:21

Blossom and Soop, what good news!

Jaxjacky Wed 14-Sept-22 13:09:21

Excellent news for both Blossoming and soop lent an extra shine to my afternoon.

soop Wed 14-Sept-22 16:58:08

You lot really are the tops.

I've been watching the procession to Westminster Hall and marveling at the attention to detail as the ceremony unfolded. Tomorrow, I must do the ironing. I have put it off for far too long.

Blossoming A huge virtual hug from me to you. Excellent news. I'm so chuffed for you.

I hope that Mr Muse enjoyed his birthday celebrations.

Mr Soop has returned home having visited the surgery in order to have the sun damage on his scalp "zapped". He has to go through the "zapping" at regular intervals. I shall now make him a brew and make him comfortable.

I apologise for not yet being fully updated. These past few days have been unsettling.

Farewell until tomorrow. smile moon

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 14-Sept-22 17:32:23

Hello everyone. I too spent the afternoon watching the procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall - what an amazing building. Apparently Richard II commissioned the ceiling. I had a call from the hospital this morning with an appointment this Saturday for a CT scan! My GP is very on the ball. I will get the results in 5 working days.

brook2704 Wed 14-Sept-22 18:28:42

That’s excellent news for you both Blossoming and Soop so pleased
And hoping all goes well for you on Saturday too llfl

cornergran Wed 14-Sept-22 19:15:26

Wishing you well on Saturday llfl, a speedy appointment for sure.

TOYA

Blossoming Wed 14-Sept-22 20:13:17

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I’m pleased you won’t have to wait long for the scan and results Ladyleftfieldlover, fingers crossed all will be well.

Jaxjacky Wed 14-Sept-22 20:32:16

I’ll be fingers crossed llfl.
Car service this morning, many £’s, last time at the main dealership, warranty expires in a year, our trusty mechanic will do it then.
Little fruit and veg in our local shop, unusual, I was after fruit, I hate making a special journey, so will wait.
I watched the procession too, very moving.
Enjoy the rest of your evening all x

Grannmarie Wed 14-Sept-22 21:55:16

I'm delighted for you both, Soop and Blossoming, wonderful news!
Fingers crossed ? for Saturday, Ladyleftfieldlover.

Thinking of all with ailments and appointments. ??

Putting my feet up now, home again after a busy day of childcare with DGS2, a real wee live wire who keeps us on our toes. We really enjoy our time with him, I know from our older grandchildren how quickly they grow up.

NNGB.

soop Thu 15-Sept-22 16:51:15

Neine I also believe that you should write a book of short stories. You have a gift for words.

Llfl I shall also be thinking of you on Saturday.

Grannmarie flowers

I have at long last caught up with the ironing. It was a very long task. Throughout, I watched more coverage relating to the late Queen Elizabeth. She was one truly remarkable lady.

Although it is a sunny day, the wind direction is from the north. We enjoyed our usual walk before lunch. I may pedal for 30 mins once I've logged off. At some point, possibly next week, I hope to get back on the saddle for longer periods.

It is time to make a cheerful brew for Mr Soop. He has been tidying the garden for the best part of this afternoon.

My thoughts are with you all, especially those of you with health concerns.

Until tomorrow - smile moon

Blossoming Thu 15-Sept-22 17:54:33

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s decidedly autumnal here, but very pleasant. Today I have been getting back into the swing of things. I sorted all the recycling ready for tomorrow’s collection, Mr.B will drag the wheelie bins out. I have also been cycling Soop as I too need to get back to building up the time. I have practiced Gaelic. I have finally got round to getting an older mobile phone ready to donate to a charity. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s perfectly usable, just not by me! Mr. B treated me to a new Nokia complete with protective case for when (not if) I drop it. Anyway I hope the old one does somebody some good.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 15-Sept-22 18:18:36

Hello everyone. My GP rang this morning when I was still in the shower. I had to ask her to give me a minute while I wrapped myself in a towel. She had the results of my last two tests - one good and the other less good. I will get a call from her next Wednesday or Thursday with the results of my CT scan on Saturday. OH and I had the most delicious lunch out today. I don’t often have fillet steak but this place does it beautifully. We shared my tarte tatin. Later on this evening I am having a Zoom chat with some friends. I have just started reading the third and final volume of Chips Chandon’s diaries. They are a hoot. I ordered them months ago and they arrived today. Hopefully everyone has had a good day.
