Happy belated birthday Suedonim

brook2704 Sun 25-Sept-22 22:26:42

A Happy Birthday for yesterday SueD sounds like you had a lovely normal but special family day! I hope you get your car sorted soon and that your mum eventually gets settled back home and things get a bit easier
A definite nip in the air Urms, it’s good that you only need a cardigan in your lovely warm apartment.
I quite like autumn, the colours on the trees are beautiful especially when the sun shines on them. We’ve not had many leaves down yet so I’ve not started the annual sweep up yet ..

Nannytopsy Sun 25-Sept-22 23:55:14

Belated birthday greetings to both of the birthday girls! Finally reached the end of our flower festival and harvest and I think we did pretty well. I did two of these arrangements in the porch, which I was pleased with.
Like lots of you, I need to get in the garden this week and clear the plants and shrubs killed by the drought and replant. I bought a number of plants from the plant stall I was running. You might say it was poacher turned gamekeeper! Bulbs to go in too.
? sleep tight everyone.

Nannytopsy Sun 25-Sept-22 23:55:59

The other photo was one a lady did in the font.

soop Mon 26-Sept-22 12:51:03

Barmeyoldbat Good to hear that you are beginning to feel better. Your holiday in Croyde Bay couldn't have come at a better time. sunshine

Blossoming I am concerned to hear that you continue to be feeling well below par.

Urms Mr Soop enjoyed an M&S curry last evening. He would have loved to have been able to pop across the road for the real thing.

soop Mon 26-Sept-22 12:54:27

brook Autumn is my favourite season. Although at the moment, it is blowing a gale outside, and rain is lashing against the window.

Nannytopsy The flower arrangements are beautiful.

soop Mon 26-Sept-22 16:58:59

It is evident that the fourth portrait of Angus has failed. Am about to sketch the fifth. If this doesn't do him justice, I may need to visit him in person and take my own photograph. Mr Soop has such confidence in me. If he had not, I would throw in the towel and feel very sorry for myself.

It's farewell for today. Tomorrow is another day. Hope springs eternal. smile moon

brook2704 Mon 26-Sept-22 17:36:58

Oh soop it maybe is that you just need a different photograph to get you started on Angus’s portrait - fingers crossed for you ?

Just sitting with a very welcome cup of tea that DH has brought me. I’ve had another busy but enjoyable day, two classes at the gym, a good laugh with the gym ladies, a soak in the jacuzzi and then a coffee and a gorgeous cake at my favourite garden centre. Salmon and roasted veg all done in the air fryer to eat later - yummy. Wish I could open the wine but it’s only Monday ..
Lovely flowers nannytopsy thanks for sharing ???

Yiayia4 Mon 26-Sept-22 18:02:47

Have a good evening everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 26-Sept-22 18:24:49

Hello everyone. We should have gone to Norwich today but OH had a difficult night due to his urological problems. So we went to a National Trust property - Fellbrigg Estate - which was interesting. A nice lunch, a great house and a beautiful walled garden. Another trip to Waitrose and another pair of Italian socks! I hope we’re going to Holt tomorrow, which is a Georgian town, apparently.

‘Evening All’

I’ve had a gloriously lazy day. No calls on my time whatsoever! I’ve ditched Dixon tonight to show you this.

I decided to rewatch one of my favourite DVDs. “No Country for Old Men”. I read the blurb on the back and was surprised to read the film was from a novel written by Cormac McCarthy - great writer who wrote ‘The Road’. (sorry I’m wittering).

Anyway blow me if as I was watching, Tommy Lee Jones suddenly reminded me of Andy Burnham our Mayor of Manchester! I was so struck by the resemblance I froze the screen & took a photo on my iPad (technology eh, no flies on me) to show Himself. Do you see the similarity?
?

Blossoming Mon 26-Sept-22 20:41:56

Good evening dear Kitcheners, thank you for all your kind wishes. I slept much better last night, have eaten porridge for brunch and a chicken roll for tea. I have done very little other than read and practice Gaelic. I also sorted out a PC problem for Mr. B and was pleased to see I haven’t forgotten how! The nausea seems to have subsided, fingers crossed it stays away tonight.

Belated birthday wishes to Sue and any I may have missed.

Onwards and upwards, as they say.

Jaxjacky Mon 26-Sept-22 20:59:36

Good to hear Blossoming ?
Very pretty Nannytopsy love sunflowers.
A chilly day, just had the heating on for an hour, I really do not like being cold!
Inside Man is being watched soon, we’ll see.
Enjoy your evening all x

Grandmabatty Mon 26-Sept-22 21:16:43

I'm glad you are feeling better Blossoming. Just take things easy. Yiayia what a gorgeous horse. Brook you are a very active lady!
Today I had an early haircut then dd came down with dgs2 for a while. She brought me a piece of pecan pie which was amazing with ice cream. Later I sat with the boys to let her pick up sil from hospital. He had another colonoscopy. Then home for a lazy night. Take care all.

Nannytopsy Tue 27-Sept-22 00:09:56

I thought it was a photo of Andy Burnham before I read your post Urms.
Off for a cuddle with GS2 tomorrow. Can’t believe he’s 7 weeks already!

soop Tue 27-Sept-22 12:25:06

Early good afternoon greetings to you lovely lot.

Urms I also thought the photo was of Andy Burham.

brook I have just this minute applied the first wash. PLEASE send positive vibes in my direction. I need to complete this portrait and to feel that I have done justice to Angus.

Grandmabatty You are a very good grandma. Your daughter must appreciate your support. Best wishes to your son-in-law.

Jax It remains blowy and chilly in bonnie Kintyre. I am therefore hoping to do a pile of ironing (how many folk live in this house?) and also do a series of washes on the pet portrait. This really is my final attempt. hmm

Blossoming Continue to take things at an easy pace. Us lot want you to feel up to riding your bike. Porridge for my brunch too. I shall scatter a handful of blueberries and a large dollop of Greek yogurt on mine.

Ladyleftfieldlover I am intrigued. Can you share a photo of the Italian socks, please?

Yia Handsome Curly will be included in our "pampered pet gallery".

Back to the ironing board. Thereafter, the drawing board. smile

Blossoming Tue 27-Sept-22 14:46:43

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Another nausea-free night allowed me a decent amount of sleep. I’ve had my porridge and I am resting and being good grin. It’s my sister’s birthday tomorrow, we are going to see her on Sunday so I need to be well enough for that. I have already sent a card and present which have been delivered today. I’m booked in for my Covid and ‘flu vaccines on Saturday, fingers crossed no side effects!

NannyTopsy hope you’re enjoying your cuddles.

Grandmabatty Tue 27-Sept-22 14:47:57

Two pastels of autumn fruit. The pear has sold in an online exhibition in aid of Parkinson's. I just finished the apple today. It is such a fun class but I'm tired now. I tidied up the house this morning so a lazy afternoon for me. Showers and rainbows and a cold wind out. Tea and banana bread in. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Yiayia4 Tue 27-Sept-22 17:04:58

Love your Apple Grandmabatty, your a very talented lady.
Curly has settled well, he is very handsome Soop.Heating on here Jax cold and heavy showers.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 27-Sept-22 17:24:39

Hello all. OH and I had a lovely day in Holt. We had a delicious lunch and then a wander. There was a brilliant art exhibition where I bought note-lets and a tea towel - the pottery and paintings were beautiful but too expensive. The whole town was very impressive. When we got back to the holiday barn, OH insisted on lighting a fire! Have a good evening everyone. I intend watching the second episode of the David Tennant thing.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 27-Sept-22 17:29:18

Here are the Italian socks. They are soft and cosy. They haven’t got them in my local Waitrose but the branch near the holiday barn is enormous.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 27-Sept-22 17:33:15

Birthday wishes to all who I have missed ??
Urmstongran this photo is for you, if you were here you could have seen me waving to you ?? view from top of cable car x

‘Evening All’

It’s gone cold out but it’s warm in our apartment. Mind you the oven’s on with baked potatoes and chicken thighs. Himself will be cold. He’s on a field having taken the Boy Wonder to football training! Watching is colder than participating so he’s got layers on and his ‘big thick coat’. It’s Baltic tonight according to the forecast. Anyway he’ll be home snug in half an hour!

GG13 I hate heights and was never brave enough to go up in the cable cars. Himself has been a couple of times with the Boy Wonder. We can walk to Tivoli World from our little place! ?

Jaxjacky Tue 27-Sept-22 19:11:41

What a miserable, cold day, heating has just gone on Yia, it’s rained on and off, we have three full water butts.
Getting there Blossoming.
Apart from cleaning the house (warms you up), I got out for a quick walk, made a pasta sauce for tonight and not a lot else, quite slothful.
Enjoy your evening all x
