We made it to Norwich. I had earmarked a park and ride. When we arrived it was closed down! So we went to another one. Norwich was lovely and tiny. We had a delicious Italian lunch and then went to the cathedral. We were there for ages, mainly because a group of musicians and singers were rehearsing for a concert this evening. It was lovely to sit and listen for over half an hour. Back at the barn and about to read the paper. We have to leave by 10 am tomorrow so will be packing after dinner.

Thanks Soop, Brook and Grandmabatty. I’m not worried about the CT scan, I don’t have any breathing difficulties. It’s just one more step to get through before I can be discharged, For the first time in many years I may be free of hospital visits other than routine bloods every 6 months and I can cope with those.

‘Evening All’

I’ve just finished watching ‘Blonde’ on Netflix. The new film out about Marilyn Monroe. She was SO beautiful wasn’t she? Yet died at 36y. The short, tragic life of a tormented individual. Why are films so long these days though? That one was two and a half hours! Mind you I paused it halfway through to make dinner (lamb steaks and veg - yummy!). You couldn’t get a break like that at the cinema.

I love the portrait of the little puppy soop you’ve captured his cuteness that’s for sure! Oh, there are so many talented people on GN. I’m rubbish at anything - art, music, crafting, baking, sewing. Sigh.

Blossoming I’m delighted you’re results show you in the clear and I hope your lung CT is of absolutely no concern. You deal so well with any difficulties that cross our path. You totally deserve a good stretch now of no hospital appointments other than routine checks. I have my fingers crossed for you. x

Urms. You are extremely good at keeping your grandchildren happy, that’s a talent not to be sneezed at ?

SueDonim Thu 29-Sept-22 23:42:46

That’s good news, Blossoming! What a relief.

I want to hug that pup, Soop. ❤️

I’m rather AWOL at the moment as I’ve been ill since Sunday with some undefined lurgy - not Covid. It’s like nothing I’ve had before, intermittent fevers, low-grade digestive issues, headache. I’ve done nothing since Sunday, though I am at least up. Am hoping for improvement tomorrow, as I’ve felt very miserable.

Looking on the bright side, I’ve lost nearly half a stone in five days! No doubt it’ll creep back on. hmm

TOYA. Xx

SueD my DD, SiL and a number of their friends have had just those symptoms since meeting up at the weekend. A virus going the rounds? Hope you feel better soon.
Had our covids this afternoon and feeling fine, except for an arm which is a bit tender.

Urmstongran Fri 30-Sept-22 10:29:26

Aw what a kind thing to say about me Blossoming! You’ve made my day.

The Angus portrait has made two people extremely happy. They have both been chatting to me on the phone and I was able to sense their pleasure.

My Facebook profile has been hacked. What do I do now?

soop Fri 30-Sept-22 13:05:30

BladeAnnie I've pm'd you.

Charleygirl5 Fri 30-Sept-22 13:26:26

Late to the party, what brilliant news Blossoming big fingers crossed for the last hurdle.
Sounds a horrid way to lose weight SueD, hope you improve soon, you must be washed out.

Back later all.

Blossoming Fri 30-Sept-22 16:10:59

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners, I’m still feeling like a weight has been lifted! Hope you’re feeling better today SueD. Soop as Jax says change your password, log out, clear your cache to prevent it defaulting to an older page, then log back in.

It’s foul weather here today, we’re getting the effects of Hurricane Ian so are snuggling up safe and warm smile

BladeAnnie Fri 30-Sept-22 16:27:04

Good afternoon dear kitcheners (from Duncan too of course ??). Aww Charleygirl thank you for your kind offer - he does like to charm everyone!! Mr BA has been out today inspecting engines and I don't expect him home until 7-ish so we are treating ourselves to a chinese. There's always far too much so I'm happy to share.....??. Off to football tomorrow - can we have a big cheer for the mighty Blades ⚔️⚽️⚔️ (unless your allegiance is with another team of course ?⚽️). Enjoy the rest of your Friday. TOYA

soop Fri 30-Sept-22 16:49:03

Sorry to have been absent for much of the day. I was worried about the FB hacking. Also needed to clean house thoroughly as it's our thirty fourth anniversary tomorrow and I'm as daft as a brush. hmm

We are going out for lunch together with our dear friends. I shall share our wedding day photo with you lovely lot.

The sky is clearing. This morning's weather was diabolical. Sweetie Pie waited until things calmed down and has enjoyed a feast of tuna.

Love to you all. I shall raise a Friday night glass of delicious red wine to you all at 8:30 precisely. smile moon

Blossoming Fri 30-Sept-22 17:00:38

I just realised I haven’t seen NaughtyNeine since she posted about her upset, if you’re reading this I hope you’re feeling better x. I hope BarmeyOldBat is enjoying her break in Croyde Bay.

After an absolutely awful day of foul weather the sun has just come out!

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 30-Sept-22 17:38:08

Lovely photo Soop!?
We are home from our holidays. We came back via Cambridge and Milton Keynes (so many roundabouts) and it was much quicker. There was yet another hospital letter waiting for me! This time for an MRI scan on my abdomen. So in the next few weeks I am having a bone density scan, MRI scan, colonoscopy plus covid and flu boosters. I expect there will be more blood tests too. Of course I’m also seeing a dermatologist in January about a new mole type thing on my face. Our daughter is coming back for the weekend. We never tell them about our hospital appointments unless there is something to tell!

Grandmabatty Fri 30-Sept-22 17:39:03

Such a lovely photo Soop. Happy anniversary to you both tomorrow. Have a lovely day.
It's been stormy in central Scotland today. Wind and torrential rain. I've had a quiet day and I'm thinking of steak and chips for dinner. I'm currently watching Hocus Pocus and later will watch Hocus Pocus 2. Have a good evening Kitcheners

Yiayia4 Fri 30-Sept-22 17:40:29

Urmstongran Fri 30-Sept-22 17:43:26

‘Evening All’

It’s been chucking it down here in south Manchester since 2pm. Torrential rain. It’s just stopping now (I think) and trying to brighten up. We are off out in an hour. Walking over to meet some friends driving through from Bolton. Drinks first (G&T for me) in another new bar then cross he road to our favourite curry house. I’ve booked a circular table so the six of us can chat more inclusively.

I’ll budge up on this sofa and make room for you hulahoop.
?
We can laugh together about our ineptitude!

Urmstongran Fri 30-Sept-22 17:48:37

P.s. sorry soop I forgot to add my best wishes to you and mr for a very happy anniversary. You both look joyful.

P.p.s. It’s my stepfather’s 90th birthday tomorrow. (He shares the date with Theresa May!). No big party planned as Himself and my uncle are driving him up to Plockton for 5 days. Now that’s the kind of celebration he’ll really enjoy!
