I’m just under tall for my weight.

Did you know that 5 inches of fat can stop a bullet?

People aren't fat, they are bullet proof.

grandMattie Sun 21-Aug-22 12:39:48

???
I KNEW I was short for my weight. And here. Am, waiting for my damson jam to set- I think I’ll be shrinking a little more…

GranJan60 Sun 21-Aug-22 12:44:37

Smartbmi is much more weight forgiving for older people.

Pippa22 Sun 21-Aug-22 12:46:39

These are lovely and funny but I had a bit of a wake up call recently when I found out that in my area a BMI of over 35, or 30 in some health authorities can stop planned surgery going ahead. I think that is quite worrying as having to wait for an op whilst losing weight could be really stressful and 35 I’d not necessarily very overweight.

Oh, tell me more - I Googled it but got no results

For narrowboatman, a Smart BMI calculator. www.smartbmicalculator.com/bmi-and-age.html

Kate1949 Sun 21-Aug-22 14:21:37

I did that smart thing. It gave me the same reading as the NHS BMI checker. I think this should be on a different thread!!
