It seems that it’s not safe to walk the street in some areas. Very sad state of affairs.
Desperately sad story of the assisted suicide of a grieving mother
What's going on , on the street outside your home right now?
It seems since they cut back on police presence on our streets (few years ago now), trouble and violence is increasing more and more on our streets of the UK, and in the last few days more fatal deaths from shootings and stabbing in Liverpool and Manchester area’s, as well London. There needs to be more police on our streets, increased punishment for the dangerous people committing these terrible crimes, and to stop innocent people including young children being fatally injured.
I don’t come from any of these area’s but the way it’s going the whole of the UK is becoming Lawless.

When you have a violent street mugging in upmarket Chelsea in broad daylight I'd say that applies to ANY area.
Lay some of the blame on the do-gooders who keep bleeding for leniency. Even people with mental health problems should be incarcerated if they are a danger to the public. Isn't that what Broadmoor was designed for.
Time has moved on from the days when police officers knew who was who in a community. Children if brought home by a police officer for stepping out of line knew they were in trouble from parents. All that has gone. Where I live I see it everyday. Children riding on footpaths, roads on electric scooters. Of course they grow up doing what they want as their parents have done just thst buying the scooters and allowing them to illegally use them. Not enough police, total disrespect from adults and children alike. Far too many rules that must be obeyed by Police or the offenders cry "I have Rights".We get what we pay for, a lesser overstretched police force. Crime thrives when there is nothing to counter it and in this country that has become less and less.
I have been visiting central London for the past 4 days .
I swear I have not SEEN 1 policeman in the flesh despite being in high tourist areas. However Apple store had 4 security officers outside their store in covent garden .
It’s seriously an appalling state of affairs. Where are they all & how will Notting Hill carnival go without any visible security?
They do not fear God so they do not fear man.

They do not fear God so they do not fear man.
I think it is more to the point that they do not fear authority of any kind.

This will help to explain.

There will be plenty of Police dancing with the revellers at Notting Hill while elsewhere there will be public disorder and muggings going on.
Look at the ridiculous situation at Lincoln Pride Festival where Police were dancing the Macarena. A dispersal order had to be issued a couple of hours later after there were a number of large fights in the city. It's beyond belief.
Watch the video here but be prepared for your blood pressure to rise:

I really don't see what that's got to do with anything - I'm an atheist and know many other atheists and none of them are running around committing crime sprees!

What is this do gooder?
I’ve never met one and I worked in probation, social work and mental health.
‘People with mental health problems’ can and are incarcerated if they’re a danger to the public”.
I wonder if the various Chief Constables who when interviewed recently, have blamed the lack of community workers, mental health and substance misuse worker are ‘do Golders’ in your world view. I heard 3 of the quoting the research that confirms early intervention, investment in early years reduces crime and anti social behaviour.

Perhaps we should blame the Justice System where young people who could be trained for to be useful to society by helping them with their education, learning trades, etc when they are imprisoned. OR the introduction to Care in the Community which has failed people with mental health issues. Our mental health services did need a shake up but not a withdrawal of services. Or maybe the education system which fails certain young people from the start with a one size fits all so young males in particular are turned off from learning for life. Or maybe we should blame the hard liners who look at youth as something the dog has brought in instead of engaging with them especially as many of the youth facilities now don't get funding so young people don't have anywhere to go to socialise outside the school day so fall into bad company.
Of course, we can shove petty offenders into prisons for a long time and they can learn how to get away with their offences and learn how to commit more.
