I know there is already a Good morning thread and I am not trying to divert that.

This is purely a Good morning everyone from me to you all and I hope you all have a lovely Sunday. X

Oh Serendipity I hadn't seen your post about losing your cat. I'm sorry. I was really upset when I lost my last dog and won't get another. They are family, aren't they? Morning Fanny

Aldom Tue 30-Aug-22 09:04:37

Sorry to hear the sad news of your cat Serendipity. Ash sadly lost their cat this week. Our pets' live on in a corner of our hearts don't they.

Good morning it’s a bright day here so far we have been busy in the garden cutting back bushes and trees.
We are off to Lancashire for our weekly visit to see our DD and GD. I prepared tea for just DH as we girls usually go out for lunch as the pub food is lovely there!

Mollygo Tue 30-Aug-22 09:38:09

Good morning everyone.
Sorry to hear about your cat Serendipity. It’s like losing a friend.

I pretended I was in holiday and sat in the garden for breakfast and watched the dog chasing bees and butterflies.
Now I’m forcing myself to face the cold water at aquatone.

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining here but it is cooler.
Back to work today (sob)!

Hullo all!
I've just been listening to a gruesome murder - Miss Marple on BBC Sounds.

Have some ???

Sorchame Tue 30-Aug-22 11:21:26

Morning all,

Just to say I'm liking the fresh feel of this thread, as Urms said, "like an all day breakfast," and on that note, I'm off to our local Hostility for the very same thing in just a moment, so need to get a wiggle on.

Have a great day one and all smile

Sorchame Tue 30-Aug-22 11:23:06

Haha, I'm hoping it's not an hostilitygrin

Well while youre off to the local hostility ( hahaha ) I am STILL making my way shimmering and swishing my hips around my gazibo... heck.. im absolutely shattered... in fact so much so that I going to hobble my way in the house and collapse on the sofa.... not to be heard of for another 6 months ?!?!?!?!?!?!

Sorchame Tue 30-Aug-22 11:31:48

Haha Serendipity , I think (well pretty much know), that I'll be collapsing on the sofa after my all day breakfast!

FannyCornforth Tue 30-Aug-22 11:37:44

Hi Urms! I’m loving ‘All Day Breakfast’!
When we go onto thread 2 (which I’m sure we will) we can call it that.

You may have noticed that I’m not at the vets.
I couldn’t catch the dratted thing.
In fact- she has just this minute strolled in!
Aargh!!!

Good Afternoon All

How lovely to see you Batty - with five minutes to type after all that Toddler Minding! Know it's your favourite job and you're so very good at it - but it probably doesn't get any less tiring. Sorry to hear about your cat, Serendip, that's news of 2 this week after Ash's lovely marmalade boy died in France. If I think of the numbers of cats I've had, how different, what fun and exploits - as well as the low down tricks I've had to learn in order to get the cooperation of the little blighters for Vets' visits, worming, tablet taking, even bathing. Yes, I've done that when necessary and you need nerves of steel!!!!! As our Vet always says 'with cats, you get just the one chance". He's so right.

All Day Breakfast sounds just the title for this new thread. Well done Urms of The Fuchsia Sandals.

Wonderful day again here - if you like hot sunshine. I would imagine that most of the UK is thoroughly sick of hot weather after this summer and the lack of rain. I know that I've rather rashly tried to grow some of my favourite plants here and won't be doing that again. It's not simply watering and feeding, it's like having plants in the ICU. I can't turn my back without them throwing a wobbly or staging a fit of the vapours, lying down on the job or simply shrivelling. A re-think will be required before next year. Love roses, but burnt ones are not my thing, so they will have to be re-homed.

My only stop press, news of the day, is that in speaking to my UK Optician this morning to thank him for sending my glasses with re-fitted lenses, he told me of his weekend treat. Someone threw a brick (without much success) at his shop window. They (there were two of them) then, seriously, used a fishing rod - just like at a funfair - through the letter box, to hook some expensive frames off a display. He is a man who looks for humour in almost any situation but he was a bit miffed to hear, after contacting the local Police with details of the crime, security camera photos of both thieves, and even their addresses because he recognised them, that no, the Police weren't able to go to their homes and 'have a word'. They are, apparently, far too busy. He has accepted that crime does in fact pay, and decided that in his next life he will return as an Anarchist - more fun, better hours.

Have a super afternoon, everyone, especially if you're doing nothing but there is nothing to distract you from doing just what you want!

Grandmabatty Tue 30-Aug-22 13:44:49

No toddler wrestling or baby wrangling this week Grandmafrench. They are in Tenerife. I am conserving my energy til they return. Not much heat here either, unfortunately. Clouds, showers and cool. That's a shame for your optician.

‘Afternoon, all. I’d love an all day brekkie as I’ve been turning one of the compost heaps on the allotment and after a much needed shower, I’m digging around in the fridge for something to eat cos I’m staaaaaarving!!

Various bits have been shoved in some warm pitta bread. Do nicely. ?

Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone.

hulahoop Tue 30-Aug-22 14:07:13

It's a sunny afternoon we have been for a walk in a park we haven't been to before it was very nice but very hilly a few stops were needed ! All day brekkie sounds good .?

What a lovely thread. All day breakfast.
I am looking out at the sunshine and thinking I should be doing something productive.
My hip is sore today so I'm using it as an excuse. I've been walking (limping) round town for a few hours so lazing on the sofa now.

Millie22 Tue 30-Aug-22 15:21:32

Good afternoon everyone ?

I've been to do a bit of shopping and bought a new houseplant to add to my others. Not sure what it is though possibly a fern. It looks nice anyway!

What a lovely thread this is.

And you deserve to lay on that sofa, goodness me... absolutely....

You have had a productive day, limp or no limp, you have done it.... well done.

Dare I ask if you're in any fit state to shimmy and sway over to All day breakfast where a copious amount of vino is up for grabs as we all have absolutely ridiculous shannanigs ?

A lot are laid up on the Moroccan carpets while their bellies shimmer and sway around my Arabian gazibo

If youre up for it, come along... more the merrier.....
