Good Morning Everyone,
After a sleepiness night and heavy dose of Diarrhea,
Its twilight and its dry here in brackley this morning.
A day in the laundrette for me as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a cool and cloudy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on here today - which makes a change!

PollyDolly Mon 29-Aug-22 07:57:21

Good morning from a bright East Midlands. No breeze and broken cloud this morning with apparently little chance of rain.
Nothing planned for today, maybe I will get the lavender cut back.
Sorry to hear that you had a bad night Mick, hope you feel better as the day progresses.
I do like reading about all your travels and holiday destinations - this morning I have been to Norway and France, not to mention numerous places across the UK.
Safe travels if you are venturing out, have the best day possible. and take care in all you do.

Good morning from sunny Colchester where I am just surfacing.
We have a full house for the rest of the week, so I am resting while I can.
A Bank Holiday trip to the supermarket as we'll have 2 hungry DGS to feed as well as DS and DH. Me and 4 men!!!
Love to all ? x

Good morning all I’m off to St. Andrews today for lunch I was at the criterion at the weekend and had a lovely lunch there with our cousins from Musselburgh. Where we sat outside in the blazing sunshine
Have a great day everyone keep your bins to a minimum

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Younger son is already up and I can hear him in the kitchen getting breakfast ready! We will try and water the garden today without using a hose pipe. The gardener is due tomorrow and we want it to look as if we’ve tried. Son has offered to make his delicious fish pie for dinner so will include various fish in my Waitrose shop today. The new hall and landing curtains are being delivered tomorrow morning so I may take down the existing ones today. I made them over 20 years ago so they’re a bit faded. I’m not sure they’re good enough for a charity shop so may put them in one of those containers that you can find in car parks for old clothes. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Good morning from a dull but dry Sefton.

A nothing planned day ahead apart from an hour long Zoom exercise class this morning. So glad it looks & feels cooler.
Off on a short break on Thursday so I should start thinking about what to take. Best consult the weather forecast first.

Wishing everyone a pleasant Bank holiday.

Urmstongran Mon 29-Aug-22 08:13:27

Oh how lovely to see you posting again mcss! ?
Hope all’s good in your household dear lady. x

Ps I read yesterday that Ms. Sturgeon has had her bins emptied by a private contractor!

Good morning from a dull but still warm Black Country.

Busy day yesterday. Popped into Mums over to DS's where I was on duty to be with 13 year old DGD whilst they went to a music festival. She had a party and left at 5pm, so I was able to go home and enjoy evening BBQ with MrJ.

No real plans today, may go to the gym!! Then ironing is calling me.

My 'little' brother is 67 today. He is 6ft4 so I say little as he is 2 years younger smile Picture is us at Rhyl in 50's

Wishing you all a lovely Bank Holiday Monday

Urmstongran Mon 29-Aug-22 08:16:05

Thanks Jax! I knew somebody on here would know. I just need to learn how to pronounce it when I get back and go searching at our local garden centre...

Good morning from West York's it's another bright morning ,we had a lovely canal walk yesterday finished off with a cool drink in a very large beer garden.Croatia by train sounds great Maw we enjoy train travel but never done it abroad .We got freezer out from garage to defrost so that's to sort today we are going to see if we can manage without it ,we have had it years so probably not very cheap to run.Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a breezy, cloudy South Yorkshire. Mick good advice on here; lots of water today, a very light bland diet and rest. Diarrhoea is awful. Take care. I slept badly last night with pain in my back and dodgy hip. I was finishing a painting yesterday so probably sitting too much. The painting will end up in the bin, which is where I probably belong too! I’m a crock recently. DD and her menfolk are coming later for roast chicken.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Shropshire.

We managed to get all the camping equipment cleaned and put away yesterday and the grass cut so a lazy day today??

We are hoping for a quiet week as September and October will be busy months for us.We will be back to our regular two days of childcare next week.We also have a couple of weekends away planned and several birthdays and a wedding.

I am enjoying reading about all the holidays.I like the sound of the train trip to Croatia.

Hope you both feel better as the day goes on Mick and Mary.

Have a good day everyone??

Good morning all from an overcast East Yorkshire.

I’m thoroughly enjoying the goings on and photos of the Grans on cruises. Never been on one but I’m another one who would have to talk round DH!

I hope you feel better soon Mick

Yesterday we went to the marina had coffee then something stronger after a walk around. There was also a craft market on. Nothing really caught my eye and I resisted the delights on the foodie stalls. We got chatting to some very interesting people who shared our table at coffee. It was a father and daughter. He lived in Botswana and had travelled all over the world. He told us what his life there was like. A lovely gentleman.

Today we are going to Burton Constable Hall. If there is time after we need to choose some wallpaper for our bedroom.

Take care everyone.

Good morning all,

A rather grey start to the day today, but perhaps it will brighten up. I thought we were going to have a downpour yesterday early evening, it became so dark, but it came to nothing. A shame, as the gardens need it.

Not a lot on the agenda today. We never venture far on a bank holiday because of the traffic.

I hope your tummy settles down Mick.

Enjoy your day, whatever you are up to and take care everyone.

Chrissielou Mon 29-Aug-22 08:49:06

Enjoying another day off, sunshine again here in Oxfordshire but with some cloud. Will take GC blackberrying later, and pick up apples from the tree nearby. There is an autumnal feel in the mornings but still very warm. More logs purchased and stacked in the barn, we are all set for winter now, once the wood burner has been installed, currently have a big open fire, but a wood burner will be more efficient.
I hope the poorly feel better today. flowers

Stilllearning Mon 29-Aug-22 08:50:44

Morning from S Lanarkshire, a bit grey but hope springs eternal.

Glad you had a good weekend with your family baubles, I wasn’t over but the pictures of the balloons were absolutely amazing!

I’m enjoying too the cruise tales and pictures, especially this morning, the arrival into York Shazza

I was absolutely terrified of flying and didn’t do so until DH began to develop dementia and we couldn’t manage our overland marathons, which we had loved, by car or train anymore. I then went for hypnotherapy and with the help of that and a couple of gins we took to the air.
We found travelling by train really wonderful, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. Usually an unforeseen adventure built in, the ‘fast ferry’?! from Barcelona to Palma anyone??

Hope you feel better as the day goes on Mick, and wishing everyone a good day???

Grandmabatty Mon 29-Aug-22 09:07:45

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and grey. Still not much wind which is a welcome change.
I hope you feel better soon Mick and you too, Marydoll.
Yesterday was supposed to be a family lunch at mum's favourite restaurant but she decided not to go. The rest of us still went. Dd, SIL and the boys arrived in Tenerife and she sent me a photo of dgs1 still awake and happy at midnight. I think he'll be shattered today. He's so excited, bless him.
Today I will pick up a new quilt at the retail park. I ordered it on Friday. I might get some paper at Hobby Craft too. I'm making a steak casserole in the slow cooker so I'll have some for dinner with dumplings. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Mon 29-Aug-22 09:12:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 13° here but it will warm up.
I am trying to pack and prepare for my hols but woke with a headache and feel like going back to bed.
Sorry you had a bad night Marydoll and Mick himself isn't 100%.
I am also in awe of gMattie's talents!
40lb of honey sounds like a lifetime's supply and aren't we supposed to leave most in the hive to protect the bees? They did their pollinating job for sure. All that fruit. smile
I am envious of the pedicure BlueSapphire and not the cruise though your photos are great.
Back to packing. What does one wear in 31° ?
Urmstongran?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 20°C. Hope your stomach settles Mick and you have a restful day.

No real plans for today. The railway museum will be running steam trains and they have a model railway exhibition so we may take a stroll round and have a look at those. It’s feeling quite hot though so may give it a miss if it gets busy. The perils of living in a popular place! I once asked Google to show me good places in this area for a day out and it directed me to the marina opposite our house grin

I’m enjoying everyone’s travellers tales and photos, so many good memories. I adore Norway.

Have the best day possible all ???

luluaugust Mon 29-Aug-22 09:33:45

Good morning from a cloudy and colder W Kent. Great day yesterday with DS, DIL and GC plus Gs's girlfriend. Lunch out at local pub was a success and we all caught up on various news.
Quiet day today a few bits to do round the house.
Good wishes to all.

Sar53 Mon 29-Aug-22 09:36:49

Good morning from a bright and breezy Essex by the sea.

My 13 year old granddaughter has suspected Mastoiditis and has an appointment at A & E in a couple of hours. She has had a sever ear infection since last Wednesday and two lots of antibiotics and very strong painkillers are not working. I am waiting to hear from my daughter. Poor S has hardly slept for the last few days and we are all worried about her.

I don't live close so am waiting by the phone.

Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy the last Bank Holiday til C. xx

harrigran Mon 29-Aug-22 09:40:37

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Whole family here yesterday afternoon, DS put his SD card into the TV and I got to see the photographs of their holiday in Wales. I never tire of seeing the pictures of Portmerion, so colourful.
DS and family did not stay for dinner but DD, SIL and I cooked a roast. SIL and I had beef and DD had a vegan joint with several vegetables including savoy cabbage which I cook with onion, garlic, white balsamic vinegar and vegetable stock. We had an Hermitage wine which was about twenty years old and had some sediment but was excellent when decanted.
I gave the puddings to the grandchildren to take home and we had a starter instead. Cantaloupe melon with Parma ham but just the melon for DD. We opened a bottle of vintage Champagne we found lurking in the cellar, been there since the 1990s, I hope DH is pleased we are working our way through his very decent wine collection ?
Today is a quiet day for me before I start my bowel prep tomorrow. Will do some washing and ironing as we managed to get red wine on the tablecloth.
SIL's 57th birthday today ?
Have a good day all.

Morning all smile

May I introduce myself? I've been lurking for a while...

Sunny here on the edge of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey. A pillow cloud sky earlier.

I will be trying to clear more access in the garage - read dumping place! - to make space for a pickle/chutney/marmalade storing shelf. Or two.

We are hoping to have a late lunch outdoors with Ani Labrador at a local pub.

So sorry you aren't well Mick.

Hope all are as well as possible.
