Good Morning Everyone,
After a sleepiness night and heavy dose of Diarrhea,
Its twilight and its dry here in brackley this morning.
A day in the laundrette for me as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick - hope you get to feel better as the day goes on, nothing more debilitating than the trots ?

A domestic drudgery morning at mi Casa ????? before we spend the afternoon lolling around the municipal pool ?‍♀️ which has lovely gardens.

Our friends arrive this evening for six weeks at their ‘oliday ‘ome and a gang will meet up and make merry ??at one bar or another....?

Will pop in later and catch all your birthdays and bizzinesses....?

Good morning from a dawning e Kent. We had 30 minutes of rain yesterday. A start…
I’m sorry you’re feel rubbish, Mick. Hope you improve soon.
I was prepared for a lonely day yesterday and had planned for it. I received an unexpected phone call from a beekeeping friend. She said that the hives in our churchyard were being opened and examined for queens, disease and general health, would I like to join them? Yes! It was interesting. What was nicer was that I saw several old acquaintances from when I was chairman of the beekeeping society of which I was member.
Then I had a long video chat with DS in India! All good.
Ping curry for dinner…
I’ve got to finish off apple jellies from the crabs I picked from my little tree. I planted it last year. I adding variously - chilli flakes, fresh rosemary, ditto sage, possibly a thyme one too.
Today is expected to be quiet and I shall prepare my case for my Bristol on Wednesday.
Hope you all have a happy Bank Holiday. Carpe diem. ??❤️???

Good morning everyone from the French port of Brest, where the sun is just coming up; set to be a fine day, warm and sunny. I am booked on a tour of the area, but not so early as other mornings, so just enjoying a cup of tea in my cabin.

Yesterday was a sea day which I really enjoyed as there is no rush to ready, and can be spent at leisure or joining one of the many activities available on board.

I had a lovely morning in the Spa, having a manicure and pedicure, so am set up for a couple of weeks at home. Then time for a coffee and a long chat with a lovely couple. Then a cocktail before lunch on the pool deck - a delicious curry. Spent the afternoon on the sundeck reading before a later dinner. The resident piano quartet gave a delightful concert of light classics after dinner.

Shall have to make a move shortly to get some breakfast. Have a pleasant Monday everyone.

EkwaNimitee Mon 29-Aug-22 06:21:26

Good Morning Mick and everyone from the Norwegian coast where we shall dock at Krogero shortly. Yesterday we were in Oslo where all the shops shut on Sunday! I visited the Sculpture Park, the scary Olympic ski jump and strolled around the lively quayside. I have eschewed excursions today. We are in a Geopark and I am channelling my inner rock hound.

I hope you feel better as the day goes on, Mick.

Have an enjoyable day everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 29-Aug-22 06:24:43

My delicious curry lunch yesterday, and the Raspberry Bavarois, which was my dessert choice at dinnertime.

BlueSapphire Mon 29-Aug-22 06:30:49

Sorry, forgot to put the photos on!

Good morning on another hot day in la Sarthe.

The weather is so reliably dry that for three days we have left out the emptied boxes, packaging, table loads of glassware, crockery, ceramics, etc. Our garden looks like a car boot sale is in progress!! Some items will find their way into our theatre props, others to charity shops in Torquay and some to the decheterie.

DH and I were very heartened by all the kind comments and messages of support from you lovely folk recently, following Cooper's demise.

I never cease to be amazed at the range of your talents, grandMattie! Beekeeping! Unexpectedly busy days can be very satisfying.

I hope you soon feel better, Mick. Do drink plenty of water today and rest when you can.

It’s so interesting to hear of cruising activities, BlueSapphire and EkwaNimitee. I like Oslo and have been a few times, being most impressed by the Sculpture Park.

Hope this is an easy week for us all. ?????

Good morning everyone, I had a lovely quiet day yesterday and I’m hoping for another one today.
More gardening and tidying up the borders then I hope to sit in the sun.
Have a lovely bank holiday x

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Glasgow.
Sorry you have had a bad night, Mick, perhaps mention the diarrhoea to the doctor, when you have your telephone consultation.

I'm sorry to say that I'm a tad grumpy this morning.
At precisely 2.37am, DH got up to go to the loo, in his usual clumsy and noisy manner, woke me up, then I had a coughing fit, which has continued on and off all night.
I'm so tired.
He had the temerity to ask why I was awake so early,?

Yesterday, we spent a lovely afternoon in their garden, with DS1, DIL and of course Dollie, when we took up the home made ice cream.
She insisted immediately on having some, which was demolished in no time.
I have been given a list of her suggestions for making more, including, marshmallow and Skitttles ice cream, YUK!
DS has a small putting practice green in his garden, complete with proper holes and markers and Dollie challenged DH to a game.
Unknown to her, papa had hidden her favourite chocolate orange creams in the holes.
Her face was a picture, when she went to retrieve her ball and found a sweet as a reward. Papa is really clever! ?

We made a slight detour to visit DD and SIL, who were racing against the clock to finish decorating, before their new sofas arrive on Tuesday.
They had no time to entertain us, so we inspected their garden for more booty and just chatted to their neighbours instead!
Another bush in a pot was liberated and jammed sideways into the back of my car. My job today is to vacuum the dreadful mess in the back of the car and on Dollie's car seat. !
There is one more pot to go, a small fir tree in a pot, I already have plans for it at Christmas! ?

Not much planned today, apart from a small shop for essentials and to drop off a bag at the charity shop beside Asda (and TKMAXX. ?)
It's not a bank holiday here and the schools are back, so the shops should be quiet.

Have a pleasant day, whatever your plans. I imagine, since it is a bank holiday, many of you will be busy, with family.
For all those struggling, I pray for a gentle day for you.

monk08 Mon 29-Aug-22 07:08:59

Good morning all from a dull Black country, typical bank holiday weather.
Sorry to hear you are not well Mick hope you improve soon.
All these cruise talks makes we want to book one, don't know if DH would go on another though I'm keener than he is, will have to try gentle persuasion.
No plans for today either pick up my knitting or find a book to read.
Take care all and enjoy your Monday, may you all find some ?.

baubles Mon 29-Aug-22 07:12:11

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry and bright.

We’ve had a smashing weekend with DS and his girls. They loved the hot air balloons and the party atmosphere in the park over the past couple of days. DH took them home late afternoon yesterday and I spent an hour restoring order in the house and garden. It was so lovely to have them but I must admit I was wiped afterwards. So was the daft dug grin.

I’m so sorry to hear about your cat Ashcome.

So many of you on holidays, it’s hard to keep up, I hope you all continue to enjoy your travels.

A doing nothing day today here at baubles towers, I’ll possibly stretch to a little light weeding and tidying outside. What my cousins across the pond call yard work.

Have the best day possible everyone.

grandMattie Mon 29-Aug-22 07:15:09

Ash, the beekeeping came by accident.
In 2001, in our previous house, we bought about 1,5 acres of land backing us. We made a small orchard and large vegetable garden. The first year, I found myself pollinating the apples , plums and quince with a paintbrush as I hadn’t seen any bees! I decided that was an easier way to do this… hence the bees. I wasn’t very good at it and only managed about 40lb of honey in the 10 years I had them, but it was fun!

Jaxjacky Mon 29-Aug-22 07:21:29

Morning all from sunshine in S Hampshire. Get better soon Mick.
Not a country I’ve been too Ekwa it sounds lovely.
We had a quiet day yesterday, visited my son and his family for an hour to hear all about their holiday.
MrJ is working today, as his car has a problem he’s using mine, although I’ve nowhere specific to go it feels odd not having it.
I have a list of phone calls to make, realising it’s a BH they’ll have to wait.
Enjoy your day ??

ShazzaKanazza Mon 29-Aug-22 07:23:33

Good Morning everyone from York sorry you had a rough night Mick maybe catch a nap later.

We are in a Premier Inn and didn’t have a good night sleep despite their sleep promise. No, I never really do out of my own bed.

Yesterday we had a lovely day out on the boat on the Ouse. We sailed into York and moored up then had a lazy buffet lunch that Sister in Law put out. We had a walk into the city and had drinks outside The Roman Bath pub.
Today we are visiting my dad and stepmum who live here in York just a couple of miles up the road. We will have a catch up planning our holiday the four of us are going on at the end of September.

Enjoy your bank holiday Monday everyone. Special thoughts to those not feeling well today.??

Gingster Mon 29-Aug-22 07:23:35

Good morning all from a rather grey Suffolk by the sea. I think it will brighten up later. Autumn is on its way. My very favourite season.??.

Today we will clean and tidy the cottage as we will be returning to Essex tomorrow. We hate to leave but are happy once we’re ‘home’ . I don’t think we will be back here until October as September is looking very busy with one thing or another. Must make a date GG and Sar. ☕️☕️☕️.

This afternoon our neighbours are coming in for an ‘au revoir’ cuppa and cake.

Mick - you poor thing. Lots of fluids and a restful day for you.

Bluesapphire I love your daily reports of the cruise. It brings it all back to me. We did a world cruise 6 years ago and we loved every minute! ?. Must book another …soon!

Wishing you all a pleasant bank holiday Monday. ?

ShazzaKanazza Mon 29-Aug-22 07:27:17

Sailing into York and the boat skipper and his dog admiring the view while my DH drove the boat.

cornergran Mon 29-Aug-22 07:27:38

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Decent day yesterday, admin accomplished along with some of my ‘homework’ for volunteer training on Thursday. Managed a short call to our friend, hard with her increased confusion. A heap of filing to do - it’s currently spread across a bed so must be done - then I hope to wander off for a walk.

Rest and lots of water today mick, you’ve had a miserable night. Those unexpected invites are the best grandmattie. I’m enjoying reading about the cruises, pleased it’s all working out.

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

MawtheMerrier Mon 29-Aug-22 07:29:47

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is a bit grey but the forecast is good. Busy morning for me doing some advance cooking for D and family who are driving up from their camping weekend in Devon. I don’t envy them the A303 past Stonehenge. I am also taking friends to the station who are off on holiday to Croatia by train. I loved my train holiday to the Harz mountains 3(?) years ago , I feel I ought to try something like that again. Sincere sympathies to Mick and Marydoll and anybody else who had a bad night - it does take it out of you and I hope you can catch up on some rest sometime today.
Wishing everybody as pleasant a day as the fates allow!

Sago Mon 29-Aug-22 07:34:15

Good morning from Carcasonne, another beautiful day.
Breakfast by the pool then in the car to drive the scenic route to Pau.

ginny Mon 29-Aug-22 07:37:54

Good morning to you all.
Hope you feel better soon Mick.
Today DD2 will be coming over for a roast dinner and no doubt lots of chat.
Hope this bank holiday Monday is a good one for everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 29-Aug-22 07:44:22

Morning Mick and all

Nothing planned for today, I should sort out the fridge as it is full of bits and bobs, treats etc left from the GC.

Looking forward to catching up with Gingster and Sar soon ☕️?

Wishing you all a good day ?‍♀️?

Beechnut Mon 29-Aug-22 07:51:00

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

Another day of pottering jobs for me. I’ll have the paint out to do my stool and the silicone gun to fix the pipe between the two water butts and some garden work. I won’t forget to sit and read at some point. Probably when my back tells me it’s time ?

I’m enjoying the cruising and sailing adventures.
As others have said Mick keep yourself hydrated and take care.

Have a lovely bank holiday all whatever you do ??

dragonfly46 Mon 29-Aug-22 07:53:13

Good morning from a grey Leicestershire.
Various errands today but otherwise an easy day.
We are enjoying having DS’s cats, they are such characters.

Hope you feel better soon Mick.

Urmstongran Mon 29-Aug-22 07:55:15

No Matt = Monday.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the heavens have just opened, the lightening is flashing and thunder rumbles in the distance. It’s Himself’s fault - he cleaned all our balcony sliding windows yesterday! Never mind, it’s forecast for an hour only then back to big fat sunshine and temperatures of 31°C. It was humid last night so this mini storm will freshen the air.

Do the gardeners amongst us have any idea what this purple plant is? It grows prolifically out here in communal areas. It has tiny pretty pink flowers. Would it grow in a tub at home or does it need the dry heat of the Spanish sun to thrive?
