Hello everyone.. come in and take a lovely, comfy seat which I hasten to add - you wont be sat in for long because Im starting belly dancing classes with a free glass of?? ?? ?? or mint tea complete with free supper of goat stew .....

Nothing but smiles, laughter and plenty of ridiculously hilarious shenanigans....

Yeahhhhhh ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ...

Aldom Sat 03-Sept-22 08:51:29

Try putting cold wet tea bags on your eye Serendipity. Otherwise, see a pharmacist who can advise you on treatment
Hope you feel better soon. smile flowers

Oh dear that's a proper shiner you've got there Serendipshock. I must say you were extremely brave, no doubt the amount of wine you drank helped dull the pain.

Not happy about the dregs of wine being poured back into the bottles. Is that why Brian was so generous with his free bees?

Took me ages to hobble home a I broke a heel angry. Got it caught on a drain cover and off it came. Not easy walking in one flat shoe and the other with a 6" heel. I think our days of wearing high heels are over sad.

Never seen a pirate wearing a diamond studded eye patch. Very classy of you, where did you get it from and more to the point how come you happened to have one to hand?

A few GN's have some minor injuries this morning. The ball pool was a brilliant idea but on reflection should have been deeper with more balls.

Giani's been shopping this morning, gathering ingredients for tonight's meal and has opted for Penne pasta so we wont have any GN's getting into a mess like some did while eating spaghetti.

Doodle was by far the best spaghetti eater, not a dribble in sight.

The enthusiasm for tonight's get together is there but one or two bodies are feeling the strain after belly dancing, Austrian slap dancing and last night's pole dancing, so maybe we should do something a little more sedate this evening. Any ideas?

Our reputation is growing fast and there's already a queue outside so we'd better get ready for a breakfast rush when we open at 10.

Yes you are quite right in suggesting all this dancing is a little tooooo much I have heard on the grapevine that at least 3 GN needed hospital treatment , 1 is now on crutches so yes, maybe its sensible to ditch the dancing for a while, ohhhh heck, now what can take place? How about Beetledrive?

Yes, Brian is rousing suspicion in me, what is the motive in bottling all the dregs and hiding it under the disguise of ultimate generosity!!! Hmmmmmm !!!!!

Im alllll ready for the breakfast rush... i have ironed my pinny, brushed my hair and my diamond eye patch is a sure attraction, you ask how come I have it to hand! Well I have to admit its nit the first time I have been poked in the eye, if I said the words Gusto ...... goats leg I will let your mind work out the conclusion!!! What a flippin carry-on that Gusto.

Ohhhhhhh nooooo 1 of your 6" heels snapped in a grate cover ! AND YOU HAD TO WALK HOME LIKE THAT ?!?!?!?!?! GOODNESS ME, THAT WOULD BE WORTHY OF A CIRCUS ACT!

OOOOO must dash its 9.48am

Good Morning Breakfasters.

Had to skip breakfast yesterday as dark clouds loomed and there was work to be done.
Hope someone made good use of my eggs and smoked salmon.
I’ll find a table somewhere and sit back with today’s paper and enjoy my cuppa till my plate is ready Serendipity. ? ?

Ohhhhh Im absolutely rushed off my feet, ive been run ragged with bacon rashes and goodness knows what, ive had to sneak behind the fridge and gulp down an energy reviving pill.

I will be with you shortly just as soon as Ive done George's eggy bread .... i told him thats not on the menu! but he winked and said he would slip me an extra £10 .... what a fool I would be to not make eggy bread for the lovely george.....

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 10:36:00

It's all in hand muse, just a slight accident with the eggs, 2 ending up on the floor but all's sorted, Serendip is just about to plate it up for you. Enjoy.

A Beetledrive what a brilliant idea. How can anyone possibly come to any harm if we play that smile.

Oh dear I hadn't realised that 3 of our fellow GN's had needed hospital treatment and it's such a shame as the pole dancing was attacked with such enthusiasm.

Ladies wrapped around the pole, doing the splits, hanging upside down and other things which TBH I'm not exactly sure what some were doing, but very inventive and in some cases rather brave.

So that's why you had the eye patch well if we've learned anything it's that Gusto, goat stew and in particular a goat' leg don't mix.

On the subject of Gusto, according to Giani he's really upset and feels his second cousin twice removed has stolen his top spot in the All Day Breakfast kitchen.

He wants to come back as Giani's assistanthmm. So it's up to you Serendip you are the boss after all, so whatever you say goes. Are we going to give Gusto another chance. Don't want to put you under any pressure but I do hate to see a grown man crysad.

Hello Serendipity, hello one and all!
I’m just popping my head around the bivouac flap to tell Dippy
(is it ok if I call you that?) something momentous!

Yes, you guessed!
The cat was successfully outwitted; captured; taken to the (new) vets; vaccinated, wormed and given a clean bill of health!

As you know, it was my third attempt this week, which had also included me having to register her with a different vets.

This means that she can stay at the Cattery, and that we can go on holiday! smile

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 10:52:11

That's great news Fanny. Perhaps you'd like to join us later for a sedate game of Beetle Drive by way of a celebration.

FannyCornforth Sat 03-Sept-22 10:55:37

Oh yes please! I used to enjoy that, but now I’ve no idea how you play it ?
I can’t imagine that it will matter much though!

Mollygo Sat 03-Sept-22 10:57:11

Fanny that’s fantastic news.
A victory to get your cat treated and accepted with a vet, especially since it means you can go on holiday. ??

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 10:58:22

No it wont matter at all. By the time a few wine have been consumed, I don't expect anyone who does know will remember.

We can just make it up as we go along, I mean we know that face slapping isn't part of Austrian slap dancing but some GN's were doing so with great enthusiasm anyway.

FannyCornforth Sat 03-Sept-22 11:03:38

I must admit that I haven’t caught up with past proceedings.
Was the Slap Dance anything like this?

Good news about the cat and the holiday FannyCornforth.

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 11:16:22

Oh that's so funny Fanny grin. Actually the only difference is that we didn't use fish and thank goodness Gusto hasn't seen that video as I dread to think what he'd have done with the goat's leg.

Grantanow Sat 03-Sept-22 11:35:00

Goat stew! Yummy!

Caleo Sat 03-Sept-22 13:20:17

I'm out! I though this conversation was to praise all day croissants and fried egg.

FannyCornforth Sat 03-Sept-22 13:39:38

Thank you all! Yes, it was a blessed relief re the cat

What do we need for the Beetle Drive then?

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 13:50:54

OK, well I borrowed S's spare magnifying glass and have out my detective skills to work. It's taken some time as after all, S is Sherlock and I'm only Watson but I think I've done rather well.

You can get fancy shmancy game kits but we don't need one of those all we need is paper, pencil or pen and some dice.

To begin you have to throw a 6 so you can draw the body. A 5 is for the head, 4 for wings (one throw for each wing), 3 is for the legs (one throw for each leg), 2 is for the antennae (one throw for each one) and 1 is for the eyes (9 one throw for each eye).

Now not being up to *S's Sherlock standards that's all I've managed to find out but I'm guessing that you have to have the head before you can draw the eyes and antennae.

I just hope that everyone will stick to the rules and there wont be any slapping going on.

Ohhhhhhh GO ON THEN... I dont want him feeling he is descending quickly down our like list, poor Gusto, yes I have sympathy for him.... Gianai his second cousin twice removed has snuck in through the back door and rocketed to the top of our worthy praise ! Ohhhhh poor Gusto, but if he wasn't soooo devious and sly I wouldn't have such a doubtful eye cast his way!

Yes, I saw strange happenings with the ladies and the pole that I have never witnessed before and cant say I want to witness again! In fact just bringing that thought to the surface of my mind is making a shudder down my spine... so moving swiftly on.......... yes the beetledrive.... i echo your words Smileless...
"How can anyone possibly cone to harm!"

Serendipity22 Sat 03-Sept-22 16:32:34

Ohhhhh Fanny absolutely fabulous news... the cat has bee captured and hauled off to the vets, thank goodness for THAT..... now feather yourself up and get to the Beetledrive, alll you need is that lovely smile of yours and we're off. I have pens and paper at hand. Gusto has helped me set the tables out and supplied all the dice, I thought I better not ask where on earth he managed to unearth 10 dice, I think my endless questioning of the goats leg has made my Sherlock ability run a bit thin so I thought it best to leave it, that doesn't mean to say my antenna is not still on red alert

SO I wont dampen the mood of tonight's Beetledrive ... endless wine will be served and Gianai informs me, his creation is to die for !!!! I CERTAINLY HOPE NOT !

Ohhh by the way..... has anyone seen Big Bertha the Belly Dancing Queen ??????

? ? ? ? ? ?

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 16:44:18

I've told Gusto he's welcome back in the kitchen and he's absolutely thrilled so be ready to receive a bear hug, chocs and flowers S because he knows he owes his return to you.

Looking forward to a more sedate and ladylike 'do' this evening as well as Giani's 'Penne all Arrabiata'. Even if some of the GN's get a little over excited and competitive, don't see why there should be any injuries, but maybe we should make sure we have everything we might need in the First Aid box just in case.

Don't know how but Gusto heard that Grantanow is particularly fond of goat stew so has asked if he can bring some he prepared earlier.

I've checked with Giani and he assures me there wasn't a goat's leg in sight so I think it should be safe enough; what do you think?

I'm opting for a blue velvet lounge suit this evening, something comfy but not too ostentatious. I'm really looking forward to a relaxing evening after such a busy day in the All Day Breakfast kitchen.

Any idea how many breakfasts you cooked today S I lost count at around 3.00 pm. Bet you're glad Giani's cooking tonight so you can out your feet up.

Serendipity22 Sat 03-Sept-22 17:06:50

Ohhhhh talking of feet you should see the size of mine ..... they look like elephants... and I am not exaggerating.... Ive got them soaking in what I THINK is a bowl ..... i cant see very well with my injured eye.... Gusto brought it and insisted I sat and rested.... i should say the words bless him.

Oooooooooo ypur outfit sounds absolutely fabulous Smileless ... it sounds just fitting for tonights relaxed atmosphere....
Yes indeed relaxing.. not a pole in sight.....

Smileless2012 Sat 03-Sept-22 21:38:30

Oh dear, this was not what I was expecting. I think we've had some crossed wires S because some GN's have actually brought beetles with themshock. Real life beetles and now we have them running around the All Day Breakfast Cafe!!!

I have to say I was very impressed with the ones in little battery operated cars, complete with tiny crash helmets, goggles and driving gloves, but now some have escaped, I'm not too sure.

So much for our relaxed evening.

Well at least your feet aren't as swollen as they were which is something to be thankful for, but how on earth are we going to catch these beetles?

If we get any elf and safety inspectors round, they'll close us down for sure unless they take pity on us for having the best dressed beetles in town.

Doodle Sat 03-Sept-22 21:51:50

Hunpfh! Well I didn’t know a beetle drive didn’t involve real beetles. It took me hours today grovelling under hedges and in the rubbish to find all the contenders for tonight. Let alone the time it took me to train them all to drive the matchbox cars.
Someone could have told me ?
