Definitely hard to keep up marydoll. Enjoy lunch.

Marydoll Wed 31-Aug-22 07:39:43

Meg, keeping my fingers crossed for you. ?

Beechnut Wed 31-Aug-22 07:39:47

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is overcast.

I bought more than I intended at the garden centre yesterday. I was pleased to find a particular plant I wanted and then hoped to find a yellow flowed crocosmia but they only had different colour reds. I know there’s a funny story on GN about them.
On putting purchases into my car one of the staff who was coming from their car took my trolley back for me.
Today will be a home work day with a salad for my meal.

Have a lovely day all for your wedding, travel, trip and other things. Happy Birthday MrPant ???

brook2704 Wed 31-Aug-22 07:40:01

Good morning everyone from our travels, we’re in Weymouth today where it looks like another lovely warm day
A very Happy Birthday to Mr Pantglas sounds like a good day is planned! ??
Hoping you feel a bit better soon BlueBalou
We’re having a rest day today after a very long walking day yesterday. We’ve just 5 more walking days to do and then we’ve finished the entire south west coast path - looking forward to that!
Hoping your DD feels a bit better today kitty
Harrigran ?
Hope everyone on holiday is having a lovely time and everyone finds something to enjoy today
Take care all whatever the day brings ?

Beautiful Bordeaux Sago lovely settings for a wedding.

Stilllearning Wed 31-Aug-22 08:01:23

Morning from a sunny S Lanarkshire. Hope your train journey goes smoothly grandMattie.

What a lovely time for you Sago, I’m sure you will enjoy every minute. My youngest DD got married in Assisi and the memories are still magical. That said, all weddings are special.

Exercise class today and a nice catch up coffee afterwards. Then I hope to have an informal chat with a friend’s daughter who is a physiotherapist, asking for some advice about a really bad ‘stiff’ neck I’ve has for quite a while. It’s causing problems when I’m driving, checking blind spots etc but getting an appointment with a physio is not easy.

I’m envious of the abundance of fruit and veg so many of you
produce in your gardens, the pictures are lovely and mouthwatering!

I’ve just noticed the leaves on the trees across the road are just starting to change colour. I think I’ll get moving and walk this morning, it really looks lovely.

Have the best day possible everyone, always remembering those needing a bit of support ???

ginny Wed 31-Aug-22 08:01:46

Good morning all.
DH has gone off to golf leaving me with a nice cup of tea . Once I have drunk it I must get going.
Bed sheets need changing and a was put in. Must wash my hair first as it looks as though I have had a fright. I need to make a chicken and leek pie ready to pop in the freezer.
DD3 will be here a bit later with the boys and will leave them here whilst she goes to an exercise class. I’ll get the wigwam put up in the garden as they will like to have a snack sitting in there and probably lunch too.

Safe travels to those who are out and about.
Hope all hospital appointments go well and everyone can find a smile in their day.

Taichinan Wed 31-Aug-22 08:03:46

Good morning from a sunny but cool Angus coast. Early today as have an appointment with the skin specialist soon and then I will take my elderly friend out for a coffee and chat somewhere this afternoon.
Good news from the optician yesterday. More or less perfect vision in my good eye so good to act taxi for DGD for another little while. Those country roads in Highland Perthshire are so windy and hilly and surprisingly busy in the late evening when I collect her from her after school work at the Hydro if her mum is away. Glad still to be of some use!
Bon voyage today grandmattie and enjoy your little break with Iris and family.
flowers and a hug for you Bluebalou.
Have the best day you can everyone. It has clouded over here since I started typing this and feels decidedly chilly but I hope the sun shines and the birds sing wherever you are x

Greyduster Wed 31-Aug-22 08:14:28

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool cloudy South Yorkshire. Mick good to hear your sister will be visiting soon. I slept better last night. My visit to the optician yesterday revealed that my sight has deteriorated markedly in the last two years and I need new specs pronto, especially for driving. This old gal is coming apart at the seams from top to bottom it seems! Nothing much doing today - housework mostly and a bit of cooking for the freezer.
Happy Birthday Mr Pg! Safe journeys to all travelling.
Have the best day you can, folks.

baubles Wed 31-Aug-22 08:16:58

Good morning Mick, morning all, it’s a beautiful sunny start to the day here in South Lanarkshire.

I have a nail appointment later but before that I’ll make a vat of chilli, some for DS for tomorrow and enough for a couple of servings for us.

DH’s orthopaedic consultant was very helpful yesterday. Between them they’ve decided that DH can still manage the pain so will hold off on surgery for a while yet. He either any more mobility than he has now so the only benefit would be lack of pain.

Good luck with all the medical stuff and safe travels to those on the move.

Have a good day all.

Kalu Wed 31-Aug-22 08:22:02

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny day in Glasgow, it’s still a bit chilly so I am writing this from my She-Shed with the cat snuggled up beside me.

We received out appointments yesterday for Flu and Covid booster for 8th October. I was visiting a neighbour for coffee yesterday, mentioned our appointments and time when she produced letters for her and her DH - same venue, same date and time, 18.20, woohoo, an evening out. ?
The best wonderful news we have had came from DD2 and SiL, they have decided to sell up in Brisbane and are house hunting in Glasgow! Literally a dream come true for DH and I to have both daughters living nearby. DD1 and both GDs are thrilled. No set date as they have so much to do but knowing they will be home is enough.

Hoping your DD feels more settled today kitty, enjoy your drinks party with neighbours.
Have a wonderful time catching up with family to attend your DS’s wedding Sago.

Hoping a pleasant day is ahead for all, best wishes to those who are going through difficult times, much love and I hope life will be kinder to you soon.

Doodle Wed 31-Aug-22 08:29:48

Pants happy birfday to MrPants. He's doing a Full Monty in a bar! ?. I hope he keeps his hat on. Are you selling tickets ?

Marydoll Wed 31-Aug-22 08:31:33

Kalu, you must be over the moon! I am so pleased for you!

Grandmadinosaur Wed 31-Aug-22 08:36:56

What brilliant news Kalu fingers crossed it won’t be too long before you are reunited.

Urmstongran Wed 31-Aug-22 08:38:50

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga ? where I plan a quiet day after yesterday’s trip down to the marina! Himself also fancies a restful day as spur of the moment he took himself up behind Fuengirola to an industrial estate and bought a remote controlled ceiling fan from Leroy Merlin. Goodness that huge box by our sofa weighs a ton! He must have looked like the ‘Big Fry’ man (of the adverts years ago) but for real. He is strong but I don’t know how he managed with no car. He said there were no taxis to be had. He tried ringing a local number for one. So, he walked and stopped, walked and stopped, until eventually a passing taxi driver pulled up and took him to Fuengirola train station!

I definitely had the nicer afternoon yesterday. ?

Grandmabatty Wed 31-Aug-22 08:40:41

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently a chilly 7°. Very sunny but cold. Kalu what lovely news for you!

Georgesgran Wed 31-Aug-22 08:54:31

Good morning from Durham where there is a distinctly autumnal feel in the air. The gasman cometh this afternoon - hopefully bringing a new time switch so I can have some hot water and heating. The boiler is going to be serviced at the same time, so fingers crossed everything is in good working order and at minimal cost! Plans for the rest of the day depend on his timing - DGS1 is coming tomorrow for a couple of days, so some food shopping is needed. A walk with DD2’s doggy later and she’ll take him home, as DGS1 isn’t really a dog lover (yet - I’m working on it!).
I’ll spend the morning trying to find the boiler which is located in the back of the garage, but surrounded by so much of the DDs’ stuff that they ‘might just need one of these fine days’.

I wish everyone a good day.X

Mapleleaf Wed 31-Aug-22 08:58:15

Good morning all,

It’s a bright and cloudy start to the day here in South Yorkshire and feels a little cooler, but if it follows yesterday’s pattern, it will become quite warm.

Just some grocery shopping on the agenda today, and a bit of ironing to do, so far.

Hope you all have a decent day.

Kalu Wed 31-Aug-22 08:59:54

Thank you for sharing our happy news. To say we are elated is an understatement! ?

Chrissielou Wed 31-Aug-22 09:02:19

Lovely sunshine but an early morning mist over the fields when I got up, it feels autumnal. A work day for me, very busy right now. I will return to the office 2 days a week shortly, and work from home the other 3 days, now DD1 has finished chemo.
Thinking of your DD Kittylester I know how hard it is, my DD is suffering after her final session, but hopefully will start to improve from the horrible side effects.
Wishing you all a good day and hope you can enjoy the last few days of summer.

GrannySomerset Wed 31-Aug-22 09:03:50

A distinct feel of autumn this morning, a reminder that summer will soon be over. In the meantime the light is lovely and to be enjoyed though I have nothing special planned. Think that reading outdoors will be a good use of it.

Hope that the various medical arrangements work well and that those on holiday and on trips have a good day.
