Good morning all from a sunny NI , just cleaned my hands after a bit of engineering!
Yesterday I was out with my Sister , first in ages , we walked round the local Outlet , it is good since they partially glass roofed it , I got PJs in M + S , cost zilch ! I had money off coupons , a gift card and a returns receipt! I still have a few Bob on my gift card too ?
But my shoulders were aching last night , decided I am falling apart, woke this morning with a eureka moment! My walker /rollator thingy I have had for years had never been adjusted and the handles are too high
Got them down two notches, and I’m sure it’s better , then did the same to my walking sticks ! I must have shrunk !
Very happy till I sat down on the seat of said walker ! I had been in the greenhouse first thing and picked tomatoes and put them in my dressing gown pocket … …. Yes I had sat on them , so washing machine on now !

Good morning all, after a cloudy start the last few days have been sunny and warm despite much chillier early mornings. Although yesterday to my complete shock it suddenly poured with rain about 2pm.

I don’t think the half hour of rain will make any difference to the depleted reservoirs but it was a lovely fresh smell afterwards.

I’ll read through and catch up with you all later.

Good morning all from a cloudy W Kent. Lovely day yesterday with two DGC. I was able to sit in the garden whilst a football whizzed around me. Off to meet friend this morning and try out a newish tearoom near us, neither of us have been before but have heard good reports.
Kalu what lovely new for you.
Sago have a great time.
Thinking of Harrigran
Best wishes to all.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 31-Aug-22 09:43:11

Good morning all from dry but dismal Harrogate
This will possibly be my last post for a few days. My sisters and one DH descend on me today leaving on Monday. We are celebrating my sisters 80th birthday and on Friday going to our cousin’s funeral. Last time we all met was for a wedding I got June in Eire.
Yesterday I had DGS all day. We took him to the reptile rescue centre in Knaresborough where he enjoyed stroking the snakes and seeing some turtles among other things. We had a nice cuppa in Henshaws - a centre for adults with disabilities- mainly sight impairment.
Have a safe journey * GrandMattie* I’m envious of your lively cruise Bluesappire.
As usual you Marydoll have been doing too much!!
Enjoy the wedding Sago.
Birthday greetings to * MrPG*
Have the best day possible folks

Urmstongran Wed 31-Aug-22 09:43:51

Kalu I can sense your joy from here at your unexpected and amazing news!

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, where our lawn is covered in brown leaves from their early Autumn fall.

MzOops dear dog died yesterday, he was such a lovely chap, we often had him to stay and just last week he was in our garden wanting to play ball, they ( and we ) are all so sad. Plus the 2 other recent family deaths I hope we can start to put the tissues away.

Birthday greetings to MrPantglas

Harrigran keep your study and bedroom doors open….?

Hope everyone has a good day.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 31-Aug-22 10:05:10

Sorry to hear about your daughters dog Oopsadaisy he will leave a huge void but take comfort in the happy life he’s had with you ?

mamaa Wed 31-Aug-22 10:08:45

Morning, can I have a group hug please? Not sure if I deserve one really as not a regular poster, (do post occasionally though so not a complete lurker and have been a GNetter since 2012) but having a bit of a rubbish time atm.

DH currently on cardiac ward of local hospital undergoing tests and investigations- even though he'd been in discussions and seen by practice dr over previous 2 weeks he was not improving so we went to A and E on Sunday afternoon, which contrary to expectations was very quiet and he was triaged and admitted very quickly. There is def a problem with his heart, they're not sure quite what yet but he was moved from the short stay unit to the cardiac ward overnight so that's another worry.

As a consequence of all this another blow is that, after discussion, we have decided its best to cancel our belated (postponed due to covid travel restrictions) Ruby Wedding trip to Australia and New Zealand- it was booked for early next year- as its doubtful he'll be fit enough by then to do long-haul flights and travel to various places every few days, by various means- Cancellation email just been sent!

Sorry to be miserable on this lovely sunny day ( well here anyway) and I don't wish to bring anybody down, but needed to share my woes and knowing how lovely you all are, hope you wont mind. Onwards and upwards eh?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 31-Aug-22 10:17:05

Indeed Mama these things too shall pass, hope your DH recovers soon. Hugs for you both.

Grandmadinosaur thankyou, it’s hard when your children are sobbing over the phone and we are too far away to give her a hug. Of course by the end of the call we are all sobbing.

kalu good news, you must be delighted

Kalu Wed 31-Aug-22 10:21:18

Of course you can have a hug mamma. It is such a worrying time for you and many of us on here can identify with how you are feeling. Your DH is in the best place just now as they get to the bottom of his heart concerns and decide which necessary steps will be taken to return him to better health. Trust in their care and don’t forget to look after yourself too, we often neglect ourselves when going through worrying times. My best wishes to your DH for a positive outcome. x

Good morning Mick and all from a cooler northwest coast.
Dragged myself to sing at music club, then went into a spasm of pain, and having been unable to get an appointment with GP who said go to A&E, which I did and waited three and a half hours doubled up. Thought my hernia might have strangulated! Who thought IBS and wind could cause such havoc? Nothing to do with my adhesions surgery or hernia it seems, but I’ll be monitored.
Off to collect medication now from the hospital itself as it wasn’t in stock last night.
It’s come to something when you can’t see a doctor as in Ye olden days rather than hanging about A&E for hours on end…
I usually feel a frisson, a little tension before singing my solos, but the only good thing about feeling rotten is all nerves had gone.
Hope I feel better soon, Bookgroup, rehearsal, art group then friends arriving this week. Maybe all my activities put my stomach in knots lol.
Friend invited me to holiday with her in Spain in a couple of weeks, but I think I’ll just take life easy for a bit.
Glad your sister can accompany you Mick and thoughts to anyone with troubles.
Hope you all have a good day and will read through later.

hollysteers Wed 31-Aug-22 10:26:01

mamma just spotted your post and sending a ((hug))?

GrandmasueUK Wed 31-Aug-22 10:27:49

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's a sunny day here in Greater Manchester. It makes a change to be up and ready at this time. I'm usually awake for a couple of hours in the night/early hours. I usually hear the local milkman delivering at 3.15 am but was asleep for a change.
I enjoy hearing about other people's busyness as I don't get out and about much now.
I'm slowly culling my book collections and trying to sort out the spare room so my daughter can have it as an office for her new job. My office is in the living room and OH has a garden office. It's a good job we have a family WhatsApp group to communicate!
My FIL is finally going home after a spell in hospital and a care home. He's 94 and thankfully being sent home with a good care package as he lives 3 hours drive away from us. Luckily my SIL lives very close to him as well.
Harrigran flowers hope everything is OK.
Kalu excited for you.
Marydoll enjoy your day and take it easy.
Urmstongran keep on being #lazygran in the sun.
Hope everyone else has a lovely peaceful day.

Blossoming Wed 31-Aug-22 10:40:07

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s feeling autumnal in my corner of Lancashire, tomorrow is September so I guess that fits. The sun is shining, there are fluffy white clouds, a cool breeze, currently 17°C.

No real plans for today, other than housework and usual exercise, cycling and Gaelic study. Mr. B had a successful dental appointment, no treatment needed.

Hope the next few days are not too awful Harrigran. I have a telephone appointment with my cancer care team in a couple of weeks and I must ask them about my pathway. Things didn’t go to plan during Covid.

Happy Birthday to MrPantglas, norty Doodle* grin

Have the best day possible all. Safe journey to all travellers and enjoy those family get togethers ?

Blossoming Wed 31-Aug-22 10:43:37

Hope you feel better soon Hollysteers, it’s good you will be monitored.

Blossoming Wed 31-Aug-22 10:46:22

Grandmajean Wed 31-Aug-22 10:52:09

Megs36 Wed 31-Aug-22 10:53:00

Harri. Good luck with prep , and also to anyone with ‘procedures’ coming, hoping my scan doesn’t result in one.

joyce6135 Wed 31-Aug-22 11:33:36

Hugs for mamma , thinking of the oops family, and wonderful news for Kalu, hoping all those with troubles have a better day today.

mamaa Wed 31-Aug-22 12:17:57

Thankyou all, feel better for the kind words and virtual hugs- John Lennon was right when he wrote- ‘life is what happens when you're busy making other plans’.
Good wishes for all GNetters to enjoy the rest of the day as well as is possible and as GM would say ‘Carpe Diem’ ??

GrandmasueUK Wed 31-Aug-22 12:29:49

Oh mamaa hugs to you ?

Taichinan Wed 31-Aug-22 12:41:14
