They always have difficulty with DH. One phlobotemist sent him away and told him to come back the next day and drink plenty of water in the meantime.

Another thumbs up from me, AussieGran. A bit of positivity and kindness is most welcome.

DD told me their forecast when I spoke to her yesterday Calli. Insurance companies are inundated with claims and government plans for all affected are up and running. It will be a very slow process until their house is habitable again. Renting meanwhile.
Sorry to derail your lovely thread AussieGran. Back to happier thoughts.

Callistemon21 Wed 31-Aug-22 10:45:20

Thanks, Kalu, I'm quite concerned.

Back to the thread, sorry. ?

Thank you AussieGran. Sydney is lovely isn't it. I'm glad you escaped those devastating floods. I live in Devon and know Cornwall well. I count myself lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Looking forward to reading your posts..

Hello Aussie Gran, thanks for your post. It’s so good to see positivity soon after some negatives ?

My DD has to have blood taken quite often and always had difficulty.
Now, tho, she says it's much easier if she makes sure to drink plenty (other than alcohol grin ) beforehand.

I hope it's not too bad AussieGran.

My experience is the majority of posters take an enjoy life, contribute positively and if you don’t enjoy debates, maybe avoid news and politics ?

Thank you MONica - I learn something from Gransnet almost every day smile

Glad you like Aussies!

I even love some of them ?

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 31-Aug-22 15:33:45

Thank you AG. Good luck today. Like you, I enjoy GN very much, and feel that it entertains and educates me in equal measure. Long may it flourish ?

AussieGran59 Thank you, how nice that you took the time to say how much you enjoy GN. I do hope your infusion was not too uncomfortable

I have the reverse problem as my iron count is too high. I have just been reading articles on how turmeric can reduce iron levels which in my case might be good but not for people already suffering from a low iron count.

MissAdventure Thu 01-Sept-22 07:31:13

This a very nice, and a bonus in that I get to mention my low iron and platelet count. smile

I'd second that. I learn so much even from threads I read only as an onlooker.

LauraNorderr Fri 02-Sept-22 12:38:13

Nice, pleasant thread from down under, thank you AussieGran
I’d like to add to the bigging up of Monica as a knowledgeable, reasoned and calm poster and add Doodedog for the same reason.
Good to learn about the potential for harm of iron infusions, every day’s a school day on gransnet.
