Our thoughts are with you and your family today grandMattie?

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Quiet day today, will finish a design for rock/folk group put to one side through stomach probs and will look at a new set of songs for the band.
Nice day yesterday, lunch with pianist friend of over forty years. Haven’t seen him for ages and we talked non stop from 12 to after 8.
We had lunch on me as he has a birthday (62) coming up and my duck was delicious. He brought DVDs and books for me and I had some birthday gifts and books for him. His partner wasn’t well so it was just the two of us.
After that I fell asleep in front of the TV trying out a heated throw (which I didn’t really need) recommended here.
I agree grandmattie, as I think of my DH and late mother every day, I don’t bother with ‘death day’ anniversaries.
It helps that I never remember dates anyway.
Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow. It is 15°C.

I'm quite pleased it's raining, as it gives me an excuse to stay in and just potter, I have some sewing jobs, which have been lying for ages, so I will try and catch up with some of them. One involves a zip, the main reason for my procrastination!

I also plan to make Skittles ice cream today, at the request of a certain wee girl and Morello cherry ice cream for DH. The only reason he is getting it is because I found a jar of them , during the death clean of the fridge!
I have no recipe for them, so will make it up, as I go along. ?

We had a lovely visit at DS1's yesterday. I dropped DH off to watch the football, then came back later to spend time with the delightful Dollie. Poor papa was subjected to a makeover, it was hilarious.
DH spotted her standing on the grass above the main road, watching for us. Apparently, she had been in and out from 10am, however the football didn't start until 12.30pm! ?

I managed to get to the Vigil Mass last night, but couldn't get comfortable. DH was getting really annoyed at my fidgeting, then I started to cough and couldn't stop. Talk about being a noticebox! blush
Thank goodness the PP was in a hurry and Mass wasn't too long!
DH was even more annoyed, when three different people stopped to ask how I was, saying they had missed me. We chatted for ages. I don't think the fact that they were all male, helped. The air was a bit frosty, when this hussy got back to the car, especially as I had the car keys.?

Blossoming, pleased you are feeling a wee bit better and hope the pain settles monk.
Sago, the wedding sounds fabulous, have you any non identifiable photos to share?
Safe journey Oops.
I'm a bit muddled, but I think it is Aggie, who is going on a trip, have a great time. I think you mentioned Wexford, but I may be really muddled! My grandparents came to Scotland from Enniscorthy.

Have a good day everyone, whatever your plans. Pants, I'm not taking to you, I'm envious of your plans. ?

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is grey and I believe rain is forecast.
Up to Birmingham today for a family lunch/birthday party for my (only) GD - 5 GSs and 1 girl!
I am using the services of a local girl who has recently set up as a dog walker /sitter etc. She used to manage the kennels Rosie went to until they closed so knows what she is about. With so many of my friends and neighbours away this weekend, it’s a godsend!
It’s Moseley Folk Festival in the park behind D’s house so we shall be serenaded, but it doesn’t look as if we’ll be sitting out on their terrace to enjoy it if the weather doesn’t hold.
I have yet to read through the thread but hope today is kind to those with worries or sorrow and wish you all a pleasant day.

Ashcombe Sun 04-Sept-22 08:23:49

A very late good morning from La Sarthe where it is sunny. ?
We had TIB before 5.00a.m. (CET) then slept for more than two hours!

Yesterday, I contacted a lady in Torbay who sorts out necessities for destitute folk about to be rehoused so we hope to pack some of Ian's unwanted crockery, etc to take back with us. Boxes that have remained untouched since he moved here in 2004 obviously contained unwanted items! Charity shops are not abundant here so we'll see how much we can pack into my Fiesta. A few vases and jugs are being donated to the Props Dept. at our theatre.

I’ll be thinking of you today, grandMattie (well done to Iris!) and sending good wishes to all who are feeling unwell or anxious. ?????

What thoroughly miserable weather we have, I’m quite envious of the sunshine many of you have.

Good morning all from dreich South Lanarkshire.

No plans today, I’ll get on with crocheting a few more poppies for the town display.

Glad the wedding went well Sago, enjoy today.

Thinking of you gMattie.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from an overcast N. Bucks.
Hoping the rains stays away as we are visiting a garden this afternoon.
We are taking MIL so walking around will be slow. Back home afterwards for chicken , ham and leek pie.

Hope you all have a pleasant day.

Greyduster Sun 04-Sept-22 08:28:55

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a gloomy South Yorkshire where I think it has just started to rain. DS did a real good job on my hedges and lawns yesterday and two tip runs saw off all the garden waste and some stuff out of the garage (three redundant vacuum cleaners and a load of old carpeting!). We cooked a nice steak dinner and shared a bottle of Merlot. Today we are going out for Sunday lunch before he heads off home. I shall miss his company and his sense of humour.
GM?
Have good day, folks whatever you’re doing.

Good morning from a grey and cloudy Black Country.

We enjoyed the gig Friday night, then a couple of drinks after at a canalside pub. A wonderful breakfast at the hotel, then train home Saturday morning. Mum had texted to say she had lost one of her private hearing aids! She only takes them off for bed, and it was nowhere to be seen, after stripping bed and looking underneath. Luckily she has her NHS ones.

Aunt (Mums younger sister) and cousin came over for an early meal out yesterday. Last saw them in February so it was good to have a catch up.

This morning I have booked a Zumba class at the gym. I have never done it before and it lasts an hour!

Hoping the pain eases monk and you can see a GP tomorrow.

grandMattie flowers you have had such a roller coaster years, much love to you.

Jaxjacky Sun 04-Sept-22 08:37:23

Good morning Mick and all from high cloud in S Hants, depending on which forecast I look at we might get rain later.
Washing needs to be done anyway, first job. Later I’ll be trying out the new air fryer for dinner tonight, fingers crossed.
I’ll bet the wedding was magical Sago enjoy today’s celebrations.
List at the ready Oops, safe journey tomorrow.
With the flow gMattie, good to hear about Iris.
And a decent sleep for Blossoming, certainly makes a difference.
Hope your Sunday gives some pleasure all ??

I have just moved into my partners house of 4 years. He is not very family orientated and doesn't see his children very often or his one grandson. Am I being unreasonable expecting him to make an effort with my 2 young grandchildren he says he's been there and done that with his own children and doesn't want to do it again. Consequently when I have them he will not come out with us or help in any way either overnight ( which he doesn't like to happen) or for the day. This is causing major problems in our relationship. Any advice would be helpful.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga. ?
It’s a gorgeous morning and the wind we had yesterday morning lessened by late afternoon and all is still again today.

Enjoy your trip Pants! My sister and her husband live in that neck of the woods up in Casares. I hope to meet up with her (halfway) when we come out next month.

Himself has the Grand Prix to watch followed by Man. Utd. on a sports channel. He will be a happy bunny if Lewis Hamilton does well. He’s not a fan of Verstappen.

I’ve finished reading ‘Betty’. It was a poignant read and it made my cry on a few occasions. One of our young book clubbers had recommended it to me. I need to buy a new read for my Kindle today.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Monk08 hope you can get into the Drs tomorrow and today the pain eases so you can sleep.

Sago enjoy the rest of the wedding celebrations

grandMattie ?

Granmadinosaur hope you get Menorca booked you’ll love it.

We have DD and GDs coming this afternoon for a chicken dinner I haven’t done one in ages.
We have just heard from DS in China that everyone in his city of 8million people has to have 2 covid tests in 3 days to make sure they are covid free for the Asia Convention to meet in the city!! He said his city has had no covid there for three months.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday but thoughts to those who’s day will be clouded by stress ??

Good morning everyone. Rather overcast this morning in the East Midlands and we have had a little rain overnight too I think. I slept in after a very restless night - I was wide awake at 2.15 this morning!
Finally managed to get the lavenders cut back yesterday, they look so much tidier now and the flower heads were dry so there was no more nectar for the bees.
Have the best day possible everyone and take care in all you do
