Good morning Mick and all who follow.
Early start this morning bin men were here before 6. We have a plumber due at 8 fitting new taps in utility room, an outside tap and sort our noisy downstairs toilet out. He's then off to DS to fit a new cistern. Have hairdressers at 12 so busy morning.

Will come back later to catch up enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ?.

Good morning everyone. I don’t usually join this thread but as we are on holiday with GD in a caravan and she got us up at 5.30 I thought I’d say hello! It’s a grey start to the day here in Northumberland but I expect we’ll be going to the beach regardless!

Ashcombe Tue 06-Sept-22 06:44:48

Good morning from La Sarthe where it’s cloudy but bright.

Yesterday, we had every feature of a thunderstorm but separately! Heavy rain in the morning, thunder rumbling all afternoon then a tremendous display of lightning for a few hours at sunset! All quiet overnight, I’m glad to say.

I’m glad you’ve received some pain relief, monk08, especially with such a busy day in prospect.

I hope everyone's return to school went well. My DGD began her first day in Y5 being tired from six days of ballet dancing!

Have a good day, whatever is planned! ?????

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I have to drop some samples off at the Health Centre and then I’ll do the Waitrose shop which I didn’t do yesterday. OH is out again this afternoon but I’ve got quite a bit of admin to do. I have a very busy day tomorrow so have various things to do in preparation. Our gardener is supposed to be popping round this week to finish trimming our front hedge but the rain has been quite torrential. I think I’ll make a spag Bol for dinner.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. We had heavy overnight rain and more is forecast for this afternoon. There is finally a hint of green in the grass. Condensation on the outside of the windows that we've had replaced is testament to the improved efficiency of new double glazing over old.
It's still warm so I'm taking an umbrella not a coat to my volunteering stint in the City centre.
Our M&S is closing this afternoon so I'm joining a Vigil outside later. We're upset that it is relocating to an out of town estate that is hard to get to, especially if you don't drive, and will leave another large empty shop right opposite the town hall a week before Colchester officially becomes a City.

Good news is that I managed to get my broadband bill reduced for another 18 months after a morning on the phone yesterday.

Love to all ? x

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. Weatherwise it’s deja vu from yesterday a bright sky but has been a lot of rain over night. We had a storm in the early evening yesterday.

After my hair appointment yesterday I met up with DIL and the GC. We had coffee then decided we’d have lunch and DH joined us. As usual I can never return home alone with GS asking to go to grandmas house. ? As usual he was no trouble we played games, he made a den and had play fights and climbed all over grandad.

Coffee morning today it will be a full house after the holidays. Not sure of plans after.

Take it easy today Mick ahead of your procedure.

Welcome abitbarmy enjoy your long day!

Morning all from a damp S Hampshire, we had a storm yesterday evening, more due today. Hi Abitbarmy.
Hope the co-codamol do the job monk08.
I have a drive to do this morning, out for lunch with a friend then some phone calls, one of those is our broadband/TV package Pittcity.
Have a good day all ??

SunshineSally Tue 06-Sept-22 07:03:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from south Hants where the forecast is rain ☔️

DH is still working on taking off the woodchip paper from the third bedroom - it’s the only bedroom that was never decorated when we moved here in 2016. He reckons he’ll be finished today ??

Well, I filled the new utility cupboard aka filing cupboard with all the pet stuff - jeez I never realised they had so much stuff. I won’t need to buy food for ages. It’s also freed up some kitchen cupboards so I need to have a think/move around so that my kitchen is more streamlined. Might need a cuppa or two first before I start!

Thoughts to those that are in pain or are feeling low ??

Have the best day you can.

Hugs and ? to you all (and ☔️ If you need some!) x

A late good morning from a grey E Kent. We had exactly 3 minutes of rain last night!
I took a sleeping pill because I’ve been having so many rotten nights. One pill in a fortnight or so shouldn’t harm me, should it?
An easy journey back home, it it takes so much time.
Busy today. Cleaner then T’ai Chi this morning. In the afternoon, I have the estate agent valuing the house. If I need probate to sell, I have plenty of time for their obfuscations and delays, if not, at least I know how much I have to play with when house hunting!
Also this afternoon, I have a Zoom meeting with DH’s school friends who are insisting that I should carry on meeting them. It’s an unknown because I’m the first to be widowed in the group…
Hope everyone has a gentle day, plenty of rain and good health. Carpe diem. ?????

ginny Tue 06-Sept-22 07:13:57

Good morning from a dry N. Bucks. I can see a glint of sun creeping around the to the front of the house.
I have DGS for a couple of hours this morning so probably a walk to the swings.
Nothing else planned except hopefully finish off a sample project for our craft club and make a cake for WI tomorrow.
Hope today is a good one for all.

kittylester Tue 06-Sept-22 07:18:02

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire. It is still warm although we had heavy rain overnight.

Today I having a singing lesson and then attempting the ironing that has accrued with all the bed changing that has been going on.

brook2704 Tue 06-Sept-22 07:18:11

Good morning everyone from Poole, our last morning in the south as we’re travelling back home to Inverness today

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow mick and hopefully your sister is there to help

Well we’ve eventually now finished our long distance walking challenge of the entire South West coast path. We started in 2019 but it all went on hold due to Covid. But we started again this year, went at our own pace, slow and steady and got there in the end.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is kind and take care all whatever the day brings ?

dragonfly46 Tue 06-Sept-22 07:22:34

Good morning from damp Leicestershire. I loved listening to the rain last night.

Popping into town this morning for coffee with friends.

Welcome Abitbarmy.

Wishing every one a good day.

Gingster Tue 06-Sept-22 07:29:48

Good morning all and we’ve had rain! Yay! It really came down in the night and what a lovely sound it was. The lawn looks greener already.

I went to the U3A meeting yesterday and the speaker was very interesting talking about the SAS and the Iranian Embassy siege. Can you believe it was in 1980!

Dh has a hearing appointment today to clear his ears and try to sort out his hearing aids (which he never wears). ?

I’ll await a call from DD to tell me if she wants me to take little gd to school. She’s feeling very poorly now with her immunotherapy infusions. Constantly nauseous and extremely tired. She tries to do everything herself, but she knows I’m here if needed.

Bridge club this afternoon.

I hope everyone’s day is good, ?

Grandmadinosaur Tue 06-Sept-22 07:36:08

Well done on the completion of your coastal walk brook I am full of admiration for you ??

NannyJan53 Tue 06-Sept-22 07:48:45

Good morning from a very grey and damp Black Country. Where it rained very heavily yesterday evening, with spectacular Lightning!

No real plans today, so it will be harder to ignore the pile of ironing winking at me. May go to gym this morning.

Welcome to Abitbarmy, great name.

Hope your pain eases monk

MrJ was issued with hearing aids in 2012 Gingster, he wore them once, said everything was too loud and never wore them again! I couldn't manage without mine.

Wishing you all a pleasant day

Gala Tue 06-Sept-22 07:58:03

Good morning from a still damp Sefton after last night's thunder, sheet lightning & downpour. Unfortunately DH was out walking the dog at the time. Our very laid back greyhound was totally unbothered by it all & really enjoyed his rubdown when they got back.

Zoom hand weights class this morning. Then check any damage to my plants. Hope my tomatoes have survived. It was a very heavy downpour.

Take care & have the best day you can.

PollyDolly Tue 06-Sept-22 08:06:51

Good morning from the East Midlands. It is grey and damp here too this morning; we must have had rain again overnight although I didn't hear anything.
Nothing specific planned for today although I did spot a spider in the kitchen when making tea - it was one of those with a tiny body and very long legs that seem to bounce when they are still (hope that makes sense). I swiftly grabbed the vacuum cleaner and despatched him/her to the dust bag. My mission is to look for anymore lurking around - they seem to like the area at the bottom of the base units where the kickboards are.
Have the best day possible everyone and take care in all you do

ShazzaKanazza Tue 06-Sept-22 08:07:59

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s lovely out in the garden I love that earthy scent after the rain. Everything is beautifully watered. The grass is greening up nicely.

? Abitbarmy enjoy the beach.

Brook how fantastic, what a sense of achievement you must have. Look forward to hearing about your next challenge.

? for your DD Gingster.

Today I’m going to pick up my mum from the caravan and taking her home for the next two weeks. Also taking my uncle his shopping and visiting him. I think I’m going to treat DH to an Indian restaurant tonight. He’s working hard at the moment and it will save me cooking.

Have a good day everyone and thoughts to those struggling with illness. ??

Ashcombe Tue 06-Sept-22 08:10:14

Well done, brook! It’s a good thing you completed the section around Babbacombe earlier this year as the SW Coast path there has been closed for two days due to the tragic death of an engineer on the funicular railway. A very sad accident.

baubles Tue 06-Sept-22 08:11:24

Good morning all from bright South Lanarkshire.

I had a super catch up with my friend yesterday, really enjoyed our chat.

I think DH and I are going to take a little picnic and have a jaunt down the coast, probably to Culzean Castle which is one of our favourite National Trust properties. Daft dug can have a good run on the beach which is usually deserted.

Safe journey home brook, that was quite a walk!

Your poor DD Gingster, I hope she gets some relief from the nausea.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Susan56 Tue 06-Sept-22 08:12:55

Good morning from Shropshire. We had a spectacular thunderstorm last night accompanied by torrential rain.

Hairdressers for me this morning then a quick trip to Sainsbury’s.

Henry has his yearly appointment at the hospital today to check if his allergies have improved/worsened.Fingers crossed for an improvement.DD met somebody the other day whose daughters allergies had improved at age 11 which is obviously a long way off for H but gives us hope.

Gingster, I’m sorry your daughter is feeling so poorly.

Have a good day everyone???

Good morning from a very humid Lezignan.
Very uncomfortable night, mosquito bites and heat?.
Looking forward to exploring later.
