I had Covid in July. I have been advised by a family member, medic, to delay my booster until November.

Thanks Kate
I’ve just looked to book for DH.
There are usually lots of pharmacies very near by, but this time there were very few options.
I wonder why?

We are both under 75 but our GP surgery contacted us yesterday to book a joint covid and flu vaccination, booked for 30th Sept.

Luckygirl3 Thu 08-Sept-22 09:06:22

Same here - have a booking for 24th - I am 74 today so officially don't qualify, but I will be there with my sleeve rolled up.

Booked my 'over-70 shingles jab' yesterday, and was offered my Covid-and-flu combination jab for a subsequent Saturday morning. Yes please.

Oh that is good to know, as I have recently recovered from flu in Jly/august and covid June/early Jly and really don’t yet feel up to having the jabs.

I shall wait until late Oct/early Nov and see how I feel then.

Got a text telling me to book mine, went online and only appointment available was 8.30am on Saturday 17th September going to try again later and see if I can get a better time.

I’m unsure about this one. Several people I know have had adverse reactions to this one.

Sago Thu 08-Sept-22 09:33:36

No more Covid jabs for me.
Flu jab next month.

I’m sorry to hear this. Do you work in care homes, or have lots of friends who are residents or staff in them?

neighbour who is bed-bound and clinically extremely vulnerable , immuno-suppressed etc, asked GP about this.
was told you are on the list for a home visit.
last time that meant she was done several months after the general population, she has to have district nurses in and out, so was exposed to risk longer.
guess the same thing will happen this time.
and nothing we can do about it. feel like paupers begging at the workhouse door. ever so grateful.

I got my invitation yesterday. Tried to book and there were lots of options. Booked in for next week at a health centre.

Today DH received his letter. Tried to book. Tried to get the same day and place as mine but that was not on the list. Fewer options were available, though lots were rather inaccessible ones. He has managed to find one he can get to and park easily in two weeks time.
Obviously with so many invitations going out at once they are getting booked up quickly.

We got appointments through the post yesterday for 1st October in the local community centre for both flu and covid.Same as last time.We are both under 70

My gp is offering boosters with flu jabs at the surgery over a few weekends in October. I’d phoned to book a blood test with the nurse and the receptionist offered me an appointment so I’m very pleased to get it in my diary.

My sister is only 54 and had already received a text inviting her to a Covid vaccination centre so I was feeling missed out as I am 65!

I'm having mine next Tuesday. For some reason I have to go to Torquay for the jab this time. But I don't really mind.
I just worry for those who don't find it easy to travel.

Booked in October to the first "session" our local GP medical centre. So glad to have this!

I’m in Scotland. My OH and I (he’s 76 and I’m 73) have booked for a flu and covid jab on the 13th.
Last year I insisted on having the jabs separately but since then many have had the combination with no ill effects reported so in the interests of saving the NHS money we are happy to take advantage of being protected against both.

Esspee Fri 09-Sept-22 12:59:30

Usernametaken Are you for real?

At least one lunatic fringe poster above. We've already booked our Covid vaccinations. I've had the so-called 'fake virus' and once was enough. Thank God for vaccines.

Shirls52000 Fri 09-Sept-22 13:20:32

This is an adapted booster vaccine and is bivalent containing both the original vaccine and omicron strain. Covid is still with us and coming into the winter months could potentially cause severe health problems for vulnerable and unvaccinated so it would be prudent to be vaccinated as soon as the vaccine and appointments are available. If you have previously had Covid itself you only need to wait for 28 days since testing positive to have the vaccine. Please don’t be swayed by misinformed socia media keyboard warriors, personally I would rather be led by evidence based medicine and knowledgable scientific input. If something is vaccine preventable and safe, which it is, then there is no contest

I am booked in for mid October for my flu jab but have been told I might get my covid jab at the same time. I was very surprised to find, within an hour of receiving the invitation to book online, there were no slots left! I phoned the surgery and the receptionist said “Oh we’ve got just a handful of slots - I’ll book you in.” Presumably if I don’t get my covid booster on that date I’ll have to start the booking process all over again.

Esspee Am I for real.
How do you explain all the young people, who were fit and strong suddenly dripping down dead.

Without medical intervention for all other illnesses no wonder we are seeing deaths from other causes.Use your brains people you haven't seen a GP face to face for over 2 years, you have been told to isolate, stay at home save the NHS.These deaths we hear of now are the result of complete and utter neglect, waiting lists which were already over the top 2 years ago are now obscenely unmanageable.People are and have been dying through lack of medical treatments, referrels and no examinations at the basic start, from surgeries,to Hospitals,to after care.Thats what is killing people, the knock on affect for one virus taking president over all other! Worse still in most cases,NOW people still can't see a GP, so it will carry on,until this is stopped, our first call is with them, and that certainly doesn't seem to be happening, anytime soon!. So it will carry on.

I had my three jabs then after all done , I had Covid infebruary then again in March …. if I haven’t enough antibodies going through my system yet …I never will have!!
