I have never heard so much inane guff in all my life... in spite of the pictures being broadcast via a helicopter... no-one seemed to know where the cortege was... surely somebody had a map!!!
And with all the so-called eminent experts involved nobody knew what flag was draped over the coffin or the significance of it...
BBC and ITV as bad as each other!

I'm not a royalist but even I know that the queens mum was born in Hertfordshire NOT Glamis castle .Somebody phone and let the always right Ruth Davidson know that she's wrong about this and its a checkable fact..I learned that in school over 60 years ago

Just as some even serious newspapers are referring to the Queen having 'passed' rather than died, I think the commentators prefer coffin to body!

' The late Queen' is not a stupid euphemism and is respectful.

Her people have not turned out to mourn a bloody box.

At least ‘the box’ is being referred to as a ‘coffin’, and not, thank goodness, as a ‘casket’.

The “advertising” you saw was actually on the glass window of the hearse carrying the Queen in her coffin, not on the flag, bohemian. It was showing the name of the undertaker.

I'm not watching any of it, I may get the watered down version of it on the news later tonight. A form of group hysteria has enveloped this country fuelled I suspect by the media who have to sell newspapers and TV companies who have had all these films of the Royal Family ready made and compiled waiting for this day. I respect her devotion to duty and to us as her people but this is all just too much. Have the BBC learned nothing after the immense criticism they received over the excessive coverage of the Duke of Edinburgh's death and funeral.? I felt the same incomprehension when Diana died, people were wailing and fainting at the side of the road. I've always wondered why deaths in other countries are dealt with very quickly, almost in haste, but the families really grieve and the deceased is given the utmost respect. I cannot get out of my head the fact that the Queen is being moved about the country for eleven days of mourning. What was done years ago (her father) was in a different age, there was more deference and the Royal family were looked up to in a way that doesn't chime with the 21st Century and the way we live now. I thought she represented family values and a dignity that we will probably not see again. I respect her but I wonder what she would make of this? Her husband's funeral was very moving and understated, as Queen it cannot happen in the same way but I bet she wishes it could.

I’m sure the Queen would be pleased about it being Balmoral. Personally I’m pleased the Scots have played a huge part so far. Long long journey to Edinburgh. (The cortège went past where I was born at the Queensferry Crossing.)

The name on the hearse is definitely that of the undertakers - William Purves is a very well-known Edinburgh-based firm.

Recognised it as theirs as soon as I saw the number plate, never mind the name on the side.

Yes I saw the spare hearse in one of the aerial shots!

Actually thinking about it, it was a roadside shot of the whole cortege.
There were far more vehicles than the aerial shots showed.

There were. I didn't count them but there seemed to be several Range Rovers and BMW vehicles as well as the spare hearse

What we can see is the outline of the coffin under the flag and that is what the commentators are accurately describing. The coffin contains the body of our late Queen. If you need to be told that, you have missed a lot of recent news.

There have, anyway, been references during the filming cortege, of the Queen leaving Balmoral for the last time and the significance to her of many places the cortege is passing through. What more could you want?

Glad I was wrong about the flag! It would have been distasteful if I was right

I noticed that the W. Purves sticker in the window had disappeared after the short break the cortege had en route to Edinburgh.

It was in full view to us on Queensferry road in Edinburgh

I was really disappointed with the BBC this morning. What innane nonsense they went on and on and at one point called the Queen 'that woman'.

And why did they keep saying how disinterested Scottish people are in the royal family. The numbers of people lining the road today show they are not.
