Good morning all!
Its a dull overcast day here near Heathrow, I was going to get at the washing pile but I think I will wait until tomorrow when the sun is supposed to come out!
The GP phoned at 7.40 last night! She said it had had been so busy because of the Flu jab clinics. The upshot is she is referring me to Orthopedics for both knees and 1 hip. She has also put me on Folic acid extra VitD and ordered an ECG and an Echocardiogram. I am getting the full works! The Consultant for my Blood Cancer has given the go ahead for it all (with more checks to come). I am going to be Bionic!
She has also booked me for my Pneumo jab next week as I have had my flu one and get the covid one on Thursday better to be safe!
Sorry to bore everyone with my health but I cant tell you how comforting it is and has been in the past the support I have had from some lovely Gransnetters.
Now I am off to give myself a shake!
Hugs to all in need, congrats to those celebrating and stay safe all.

Good morning all from another sunny start on the Angus coast - long may these bright mornings last! Yesterday was another day spent glued to the TV as I watched history unfolding in Edinburgh. Considering we rarely have a chance for pomp and circumstance on such a scale up here, everything has gone incredibly smoothly (#^proud to be a Scot^).
So, today I must drag myself back into the real world and tackle dust, cobwebs and ironing - such joy, but bearable when the sun shines sunshine.
Sorry about your diagnosis Mick, but delighted for yours Harrigran. I hope your time in the dentist's chair passes painlessly Dragonfly - I have my turn on Friday. That's awful treatment your poor DD had yesterday Gingster - I hope she gets satisfaction today.
Safe travels to the travellers today and an easing of distress for the poorly.
The best day everyone x

Good morning everyone,

I haven’t read through all the posts yet, there’s so many already, but I will go back and read them all in a while, though I’ve read your good news Harrigran ?

I’m sorry to hear that you are not so well, mick and hope that the hospital will act quickly for you.

It’s a bright, sunny morning here in South Yorkshire and is set to be a comfortably warm day, though chilly for now.

I’ve the supermarket to visit and then if my friend is free, will pop round to see her for a catch up after lunch.

Take care.

Happy Anniversary to the Gravies!

Sorry to hear your health news Mick, hope your treatment pathway goes smoothly. I too was diagnosed with bowel cancer, 5 years ago. I was severely anaemic by the time I was diagnosed as the cancer had caused internal bleeding. Once my treatment was completed my iron levels recovered.

Thanks for the welcome home Marydoll. We have had a wonderful relaxing time. I was rather upset to realise how much my mobility has deteriorated, but I have pulled up my big girl pants and am resolved to carry on improving. Grandmabatty has said she would be having a break while some family problems were resolved, so hopefully she is otherwise OK.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed.

Here is a snap of the wonderful Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel, where we have been staying. I’m already planning our next visit grin

Good morning from a bright and sunny East Midlands. GC visiting this morning but otherwise nothing else planned.
I have just inspected the beetroot and we have almost ready for lifting - that will make some space for winter cabbage and cauliflower.
Have the best day possible everyone and take care in all you do

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton.

I'm horrified to be on page 3 this morning (thank goodness this isn't The Sun!). I slept in till just before 9am, and now enjoying a large mug of tea and a ginger biscuit, plus a cat on my lap.

Didn't do a lot yesterday apart from going to yoga. My plans to cut the back grass were scuppered by a heavy downpour over lunchtime, so I caught up on all the weekend newspapers and watched the goings-on in Edinburgh. Thought it was a lovely service, then watched the events in the Scottish Parliament, followed by the vigil.

Health walk this afternoon followed by coffee and a chat. The mood will be more than a bit down as we heard last week that one of our walkers sadly died about 10 days ago from brain cancer; a late diagnosis I'm afraid. By the time it was found it was already too late.

Will be using my new air-fryer again tonight - I have some battered fish to try, and will put some chips in as well. At the weekend I did burger, onion rings and jacket potato in it, and was rather pleased with the result. Much less messy than normal cooking, and the basket is easy to clean. Beginning to wish I had bought one with a larger basket. When/if I upgrade I will go and look at them in store first, then order on-line. I bought this one after recommendations on the Mumsnet site.

Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

Lovely photo Blossoming - what a wonderful use of a (presumably) redundant lighthouse!

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
So sorry you have medical problems Mick and hope your treatment goes well.
It was nice having my friend stay over, we had a mooch round the bookshops and a nice meal in the evening. Nice restaurant but something had burned or other mishap and there was a pong in the air! Earlier, I had asked Alexa if there would be rain. She said no and I didn’t take my umbrella. Then the heavens opened…
I parked in the car park of the place I rehearse in with the band, which is meant solely for users of the hall. It always has a fair share of people with nothing to do with the hall so I don’t feel guilty. It’s central and I hate paying for parking in my own town.
A vintage car festival was taking place, so lots of interesting vehicles went by. I now find it a bit tiring having people to stay, although my close friend is not one to be bothered about. He’s completely undomesticated.
When he returned home, he found his bike had been stolen and he’s just spent hundreds on it after it’s service. Not driving, it’s a shame.
I’m singing today, but feel like pootling round the house.
Hope your DD has improved Gingster and everyone has a good day.

The lighthouse is still a fully working lighthouse Taichinan but it’s automated these days so only visited by the lighthouse board for annual maintenance. The lantern is shielded on the landward side so you don’t see the light in the rooms. It’s a fabulous building inside and out.

HAZBEEN you really are having the works, hope all goes smoothly flowers

Good morning everyone from a dull but dry Co Armagh
Lots of deadheading needed in the pots , to tidy up before Daughter gets home at the weekend
I knew I had put the tomato plants in far too late , I have eaten the ripe ones , but they don’t seem to have the usual flavour , I did buy fresh seeds .
Hey ho , there’s always next year
I’m so sorry to see your diagnosis Michael

Good morning Mick and everyone from a drizzly south Hants ☔️

Mick so sorry to read that you have bowel cancer and really hope you have a treatment plan soon ?

I haven’t read through all the posts yet - rather late to the table today, it’s been a busy morning. Picked up a second hand paddling pool for DDog for £5. Obviously too late for this year but perfect for next summer! Couldn’t get one anywhere and the ones that were being sold were silly money?
On the way we drove round our old haunts, places that we used to live in Romsey. Lovely to reminisce about the old times (even the sad times) and to see our old homes and neighbourhoods. Could not believe how built up certain areas are now. Funny how in our minds everything stays the same. The old adage ‘time stands still for no man’ is very true.

The utility room is now ‘leak-free’ ?- third time lucky, and with the forecast of heavy rain in the next few days, we’ll soon see. Oh I do hope so ??

Got given a huge bag of apples yesterday so will make DH happy and make him his favourite apple crumble. The way to his heart is definitely to his stomach ? bless him.

Have the best day you can. Thoughts to those that are unwell and/or feeling low??
Hugs and ? for you all x
