Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but remains dry here in brackley this morning , but could be cold outside .
Today , I will go to Bicester hopefully via Buckingham ,and have a breakfast bap in the bakery cafe before a small shop need some ready made mash , and onion gravy as I plan to have faggots with mushy peas at some point .
Yesterday , I ended up to talking to someone in the supermarket who knew many years ago, from work , chatted and she left but would have liked to have chatted more , see if we meet again , then hopefully maintain contact .
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire, I am getting up shortly as I will be leaving at 7 am to drive to Oxford for my CT scan. No breakfast, just water. Hope everyone has a good day.

grandMattie Sat 17-Sept-22 06:04:57

Good morning from a chilly Bristol. I had a hot water bottle last night… (unfortunately it leaked ?
Picture of first sock - before you think I’m very clever with the wool, I would say that the wool itself is “striped”, all I do is knit it.
I had a good if somewhat tiring journey yesterday. The train was full up from Ashford but the tube although busier than normal, wasn’t heaving.
Iris is planning her birthday party bags and wants to have the contents eco friendly, so we’re making the bags and putting “green” things in, like little notebooks.
Have a good day, one and all. Carpe diem/horam. ????❤️?

Grandmadinosaur Sat 17-Sept-22 06:43:27

Good morning all from Menorca. It is cloudy and I can see the trees blowing like the clappers as I look outside. I have had to retrieve my washed pants from the washing line. One pair was on the floor about to disappear over the edge and one pair has gone all together. Oh dear.

Yesterday began sunny but it clouded over and around lunchtime there were a few rumbles of thunder and rain. In the late afternoon it improved and we enjoyed a lovely meal out in the evening.

DH is still asleep and snoring so unsure of plans today. Maybe back in to Mahon if it is a bit cooler than when we were there the other day.

Those socks look lovely and cosy GM

Hope all well at your scan Lll ?

ginny Sat 17-Sept-22 06:55:36

Good morning, feels bavlittle chilly in N. Bucks at the moment.
Busy day for us. I have a phone appointment with the doctor re. recent blood tests. Then pick up DD3 and deliver her to the station. Reverse situation this evening.
A bit of shopping to do locally and then we are hoping to visit a food gayer in a nearby village.
This afternoon I must get on with preparation of some craft club projects and I have some drawing and painting to catch up with for the art course I am doing.
LLFL hope your scan goes well. Treat yourself to something nice afterwards.
Hope all have a good day.

Morning from a chilly S Yorkshire where the sun is just coming up. Yesterday a 1 hour computer repair job in town turned into 6 hours so today I'll just potter and hopefully do some sorting Out. (Aim - reduction of Stuff In House).
What super socks, and Mike I hope it happens again, bests for scan, and a whoops oh dear over disappearing clothes.

I have a soft electric blanket AND a hot water bottle...

BlueSapphire Sat 17-Sept-22 07:01:15

Good morning everyone from a clear but distinctly chilly Northampton; I am afraid I have put the heating on, as it has gone below my comfort level indoors. I need the bathroom warming up!

Need to get an early bus this morning to get me to my Covid vaccination centre. It's a bus journey into town, then a short walk the other end; shall hear for a coffee afterwards.

Then a mooch around the shops, and early afternoon head to the rugby ground for our first home match of the season. I am meeting someone who has knitted a couple of Christmas reindeers for me in club colours, blavk, green and gold.

cornergran Sat 17-Sept-22 07:06:31

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is a bright and chilly 6 degrees.

Garden pottering and admin accomplished yesterday we’re off along the motorways today. Some shopping, a tidy of my parents grave before a visit to our elder son and our granddaughters. Takeaway with them for tea. Should be a good day if the motorways are kind.

That’s a colourful sock grandmattie, pleased the journey went well. Soon be over ladylfl, you’ll enjoy a meal afterwards. Oops grandmad, smile.

Have the best day you can everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

BlueSapphire Sat 17-Sept-22 07:06:37

Oops, pressed too soon! One reindeer for me, and one for DD and DS-in-law. They will not be at the match today as they are in Prague for a long weekend.

Home after the match, where a warming hotpot awaits.

Lovely sock, grandMattie. Very clever how the wool has turned out.

Wishing all a pleasant Saturday.

Jaxjacky Sat 17-Sept-22 07:24:14

Morning all from a very autumnal S Hants, jumper straight on! Bowls was fun last night, then we met up with a friend for a drink. Newspaper day and I need to finish deadheading in the garden, toms will come out of the greenhouse this week.
Love those socks gMattie, I assume there’ll be two!
A good old catch-up Mick, hope it can be continued.
Best of luck those of for medical bits and bobs today ?
Hope you all have a lovely day ??

Pittcity Sat 17-Sept-22 07:30:52

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A clear blue sky and it feels chilly.
DS has been given the long weekend off, which was unexpected. I therefore have his laundry to do. He'll spend most of the time with his GF as she goes to Uni next week. Don't know how much I'll see of either of them after that.
I've no plans for the weekend but will include a walk.
Love to all ? x

Ashcombe Sat 17-Sept-22 07:38:52

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Sarthe for our last full day here.

Always good to encounter old contacts, Mick. Good luck with the scan, LLFL. I hope your DH wakes soon to help with the knicker hunt, Grandmadinosaur. You’ve given us all a giggle! Likewise re the rugby reindeer, BlueSapphire! Lovely to share in the birthday celebration with Iris, grandMattie.

Yesterday, I spoke to my surgeon's secretary who told me my heart operation will be on 31st October, which happens to be DGD's 10th birthday! I don’t mind as I’m glad to have a date around which to plan.

Have a lovely weekend, whatever your plans. ??✝️??

Grammaretto Sat 17-Sept-22 07:41:35

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I phoned the plumber (heating engineer) to remind him he is to install a new boiler at the first opportunity. He said he hadn't forgotten but I believe in daily reminders.
I am baking a cake for the community café now and nothing else planned.
I'm recovering from covid but just need to take it easy.
I signed the book of condolence for Queen Elizabeth in our local library yesterday. There was space to write a sentence or 2 so people have.
Great sock gMattie you are a clever lady.
Hoping for a nice weekend for everyone.

Gingster Sat 17-Sept-22 07:44:43

Good morning all and it’s decidedly chilly. I have my onesie on for the first time. I can’t believe it was only a short while ago that it was sooooo hot!

Yesterday we had lunch out with our usual Friday pals. It was one couples Golden wedding so we had a nice couple of hours reminiscing. We were all at the wedding and camped out overnight in a field . Those were the days!

DS1 and DIL visited DD yesterday and although still very unwell, was in good spirits. Her Brother always makes her laugh until she cries! ??.
I will visit this afternoon.
Little DGD is with her daddy and other nanny for the weekend.
She had a lovely birthday and her mum facetimed her. ❤️.
Thanks for all your lovely wishes for them both.

GM that dock is amazing! You are sooo clever and the wool is brilliant. I must look out for some.

Good luck to all with appointments ??.

Gingster Sat 17-Sept-22 07:45:51

Sorry GM meant to say Sock ?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 17-Sept-22 07:51:40

Morning all

Beautiful clear blue sky here in S E Essex, the temperatures has dropped slightly, but not enough for a coat or to put the heating on.

My tumble dryer has broken and the engineer is co inf to look at it first thing. Then it’s a walk down the road to the butchers and little Turkish grocers (it opened kn the summer and has wonderful spices, herbs along with fruit and veg and many unusual food stuffs. A certificate Aladdin’s cave of foodstuff.

This afternoon I have the Mt,Everest of ironing to attempt as my ironing lady is away.

Hope your scan goes ok LLFL

Have a good Saturday folks ?‍♀️?

Marydoll Sat 17-Sept-22 07:53:43

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its only 5°C,

I too put on the heating last night before having a bath. I cannot bear a cold bathroom.
We used to be free and easy with the heating, but now hold off if we can.

I didn't fall asleep until 3am, my stomach pain has become very troublesome again. Not the best weekend to need a doctor.
I spent yesterday afternoon doing nothing. I must have worried DH, because he made dinner, a very rare event indeed!
Today I plan to make soup from a ham hough, I found hiding in the freezer, using the items from my Lidle veggie box.
It wasn't as good as usual, but still great value for £1.50, especially as DD will take the items, I won't use.
I need to get going, because DD and SIL are coming at last, to empty their stuff from our loft. Perhaps, I will find my missing summer clothes, a bit late for this year!!! ?
The loft is so full of their junk stuff, that , we were expecting the ceiling to come down.

GM, I am pleased to hear of your safe arrival and you did make me laugh about the missing pants, Grandmadinosaur. I had a vision of you scrambling about outside looking for your underwear!

Wishing you all a pleasant Saturday,

Marydoll Sat 17-Sept-22 07:56:16

I meant to wish LFL and Ginny good luck with the appointments.

dragonfly46 Sat 17-Sept-22 08:04:18

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Welcome Wyllow.
Great to have the date Ashcombe and I hope your DD feels better soon Gingster.

We are going to our favourite kitchen/bathroom installers to discuss a new downstairs cloakroom. Then having our Covid boosters.

Have a good day everyone.

Chrissielou Sat 17-Sept-22 08:10:33

A beautiful morning here in Oxfordshire. grandMattie I love the sock, they would be perfect walking socks.
Ladyleftfieldlover good luck with your scan, and results.
Today will involve some housework, baking apples and blackberries in some form, a long walk and popping back to have a look at the footage of the vigil, which I found, unexpectedly, fascinating. Must swap the duvet to the autumn one too, it's getting chilly.
I hope you all find some sunshine today.

Sar53 Sat 17-Sept-22 08:15:43

Good morning from a bright and sunny day in Kent.
Youngest DGD has ballet this morning for an hour. This afternoon we will go and feed the ducks and I will treat them both to a milkshake.
They have two four month old kittens, they keep us all on our toes.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone xx

brook2704 Sat 17-Sept-22 08:16:08

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and very chilly - brrrrr!
Lovely colourful cosy socks gMattie, pleased your journey went well and how lovely of Iris to warn the eco friendly bags
Good that you’ve got a date to plan around Ashcombe it’ll soon be over and hopefully you’ll be feeling a lot better
Nothing much planned for me today, I’ll catch up on the usual jobs and then need to start putting away the summer clothes. Later if it stays dry I’ll do a bit in the garden as there’s always lots of things to be done
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Taichinan Sat 17-Sept-22 08:16:28

Good morningMick and all from a chilly but sunny Angus coast. That wind out of the north was bitter yesterday and I was wearing more layers than an Eskimo! I am determined not to put the heating on yet ..... The visit to the dentist was quick and uneventful, I'm pleased to report.
Lovely for you to bump into an old colleague like that, Mick and I'm sure that was just what the doctor ordered. A little bit of a natter about old times is always good.
That sock looks so cosy grandmattie. Enjoy preparing for Iris's birthday with her.
Gingster, so glad your daughter had a cheery visit from her brother - laughter is such good medicine flowers
I'm popping off down to Dundee for lunch with the dancing DGD and her friend today. She's having a tattoo done - the same one her late dad had and in the same place (between her shoulder blades). Very discreet, and a lovely thing to do in his memory I think.
And then it's head down and get ready for going away on Tuesday because I know I shall be lured by the pomp and circumstance of the funeral on TV on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend everybody x

Stilllearning Sat 17-Sept-22 08:19:36

Morning from a distinctly chilly S Lanarkshire. I have the underfloor heating in my small bathroom on so shower should be bearable but still holding off on the heating elsewhere. Definitely coat weather though.

Going to see the talented local youth music group this afternoon performing Jekyll and Hyde, the musical. Not certain about it I have to say, but they are so good I’m going to give it a go!

Meal out afterwards with other members of the U3a group.

Good luck to all having tests etc and best wishes for a good day to everyone ???

ShazzaKanazza Sat 17-Sept-22 08:26:05

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright Hull.
We are just watching the celeb masterchef finals. DH is cooking an omelette for breakfast.

Hope my friend Grandmadinosaur finds her missing undies.

This afternoon we are going to my great nieces first birthday party. It’s only round the corner. It’s not DHs thing at all kids parties but I’ve assured him we’ll only stay an hour I’d like to see my brother who will be there. We will then wander on to a pub for a drink.
I haven’t watched much of the goings on this week apart from the King’s address to the nation and last nights vigil. The grief on the RF faces really brought me to tears. I’m highly emotional at the moment as it is.

Wishing everyone a lovely Saturday. Hoping you all find lovely reasons to smile today and all appointments go well.
Love to you all??
