Turmeric

How do you make it if you use a turmeric root? ( not that I’ve got a turmeric root yet’. Can you get them from supermarkets?

It looks very much like ginger, but more orange. Not all supermarkets have it, but all Asian shops will.

As said, probably not enough to have any real effect, but why not use it in drinks and cooking too.

I think just taking turmeric as it is in powered form won't make much difference unless you take amounts that would be unpalatable. But health food shops sell curcumin which is extracted from turmeric and supposed to be more potent as a supplement.
Turmeric is part of an Indian diet and generally thought to be good for you as are most spices in curry powder.

Check out Ayurveda, which is a natural health system from ancient India, still used today, using many spices.

I use a teaspoon of mix to a mug of milk, and add a teaspoon of honey and a small handful of white chocolate buttons (the easy melting kind). I have just ordered some chocolate as a result of this thread, as the nights are drawing in and it's definitely a winter drink.

Yes you can get the root from supermarkets i got mine from Asda.

I cut up a slice lemon. Slice ginger root and slice of turmeric root, add boiling water.... da daaaa..... hahaha
