My online Muslim friend always wore pjs under her burkha to take her grandchildren to school.

Many years ago (1970s) I was staying with friends in Morocco when I became ill and needed to visit a doctor. My friend lent me one of her djelabbas (long hooded gown) to wear on top of my night clothes so I would not need to get dressed.
We went by taxi. She assured me the doctor would not mind. He was western trained and spoke fluent English but did not appear in the least surprised.

Also visited my own GP wearing a kaftan under a coat for a leg injection and she did not bat an eyelid. However it is a multi ethnic practice in a very diverse area. Some patients are fully veiled but they may well have on nightwear underneath.

Sure they were PJs and not lounge suits?

Personally, I've always worn clothes outside the house though!

Can’t say I have ever seen people in their PJs. Bathers, bare feet etc certainly though we are not near a beach so not so much where I live.

I love onesies as well, inside the house not outside.

I wonder if they wash before going out in pjs. Would not be very hygienic if they go on to shop. Not for me I am afraid

This comment has had me in stiches for the last couple of days. There has been so much talk in last few years since Brexit about British exceptionalism, and I will use this example whenever the subjext comes up. Just Brilliant, thanks, LOL.

I’m still in my dressing gown and un-showered, but for once have the excuse that I’ve already made a cake and soup for lunch, since guests arriving by train at 1.15.
About to go and make myself presentable and sweet-smelling, though.
(In the interests of truth will add that I don’t usually have any such excuse!)

I too am still in my pyjamas, but I’m at home and it’s Sunday morning and I had my flu vaccine yesterday and I’m not quite firing on all cylinders. However I’m going to get myself ready soon and go to son’s house for lunch. I would never go out in my pyjamas and I don’t possess a onesie. I love wearing my pyjamas at home in the evening and often in the morning too.

When I joined GN this is just the sort of thread I thought I’d find and I wasn’t wrong.
