So many more important to worry about currently, that is true. However, I can't help but wonder if this could happen anywhere else than the UK or the US?

This comment has had me in stiches for the last couple of days. There has been so much talk in last few years since Brexit about British exceptionalism, and I will use this example whenever the subjext comes up. Just Brilliant, thanks, LOL.

I checked the label in my pyjamas and they are not just pyjamas - they are British Marks and Spencers pyjamas ?

I remember the days when they were made in the UK! But that was a long time ago.

And you'd never guess that in the EU they also have Matalan, Primark and even, yes- still C&A! and the very same pyjamas and onesies. How invredible, hey!

People could walk past in pjs or onsies and I might just assume it was the latest peculiar fashion from Instagram.
I agree the clothes worn today are often so slovenly you would not even know if someone was in day clothes or night clothes. Their footwear might give it away if they were in fluffy slippers, but flip flops not so much. So in fact they could be wearing anything and we'd probably never know if they'd dressed that morning or not.

We've been dressed today, walked the dogs, but we're home from Church - now back in comfortable pyjamas.

Soon enough one or more of our daughters will ring to come round and we'll have to dress again.

What is the difference between clothes and pyjamas? Quite honestly I have seen young ladies barely dressed in "clothes" which are far more offensive than pyjamas. That said, when we did meet someone in pjs, dressing gown and fluffy slippers in Asda one afternoon, we were slightly bemused but only because it is somewhat out of the ordinary.
I am happy to take my rubbish out to the bin in my pjs or play with the dog in the garden. To be honest, I'd do the same in my bra and knickers if it didn't show anything as I consider it to be no less offensive than a bikini...mind you, these days my underwear is much more covering than it used to be!

It's surely up to individuals what they've isherwood to pearl clutch about. Not that I'm seeing much of that on here

When I joined GN this is just the sort of thread I thought I’d find and I wasn’t wrong.

You should have been here years ago when you were labelled the spawn of the devil if you watched day time television ?

I cant say I have any strong feelings on the matter of what other folks choose to wear. Where I live its anything from the full niquab (with only eyes showing) to saris and salwar kamiz. All women are pretty much covered.

I go out so seldom now that I have no idea what people wear in the city and I havnt visited a supermarket since Tesco began home delivery in my area. People could walk past in pjs or onsies and I might just assume it was the latest peculiar fashion from Instagram.

I wouldn't go out in PJs - I've no pretensions to industriousness, and my 'standards' are about how to treat people not about dress - but it wouldn't feel right. Conditioning, probably.

What I want to know is, do people who do wear them out put a bra underneath? One of the good things about being in PJs is the comfort of not wearing a bra, but going out without one is not going to be a great look for most people. If you are undressing to put a bra on you may as well grab a non-pyjama top instead.

When I joined GN this is just the sort of thread I thought I’d find and I wasn’t wrong.

I too am still in my pyjamas, but I’m at home and it’s Sunday morning and I had my flu vaccine yesterday and I’m not quite firing on all cylinders. However I’m going to get myself ready soon and go to son’s house for lunch. I would never go out in my pyjamas and I don’t possess a onesie. I love wearing my pyjamas at home in the evening and often in the morning too.

I’m still in my dressing gown and un-showered, but for once have the excuse that I’ve already made a cake and soup for lunch, since guests arriving by train at 1.15.
About to go and make myself presentable and sweet-smelling, though.
(In the interests of truth will add that I don’t usually have any such excuse!)

I'll stick my head out here, I am absolutely sure Maw has never been to the shops wearing her PJs!
