Good morning from a still dark E Kent. The equinox was yesterday; the days are getting shorter.
I have started to assemble the quilt; I’m making the steps to cover the seams on the back.
Another empty today. I shall probably sew and watch tv. I made too much for dinner last night, so won’t need to cook.
Carpe diem, dear friends. ??❤️????

Sar53 Sat 24-Sept-22 06:16:06

Good morning from Essex by the sea.
I'm going to London, on the train, to meet up for brunch with my girls.
DD1'S MIL is in hospital in Southampton after being taken ill on a cruise ship. She is not having a good experience, 8 hours in A&E, no food, no communication. SIL will probably go and visit on Sunday.
Have a pleasant Saturday everyone xx

BlueBalou Sat 24-Sept-22 06:34:29

Good morning everyone from Wiltshire, a dry start here.
I’m off for a watercolour painting day today, so really looking forward to a day out.
I’m achy from all the gardening yesterday but absolutely delighted with the results, it looks lovely.
I hope you all have a good weekend x

karmalady Sat 24-Sept-22 06:42:01

Good morning from s somerset, looks as though it will be a nice day to get outside jobs done

I need heavy compost, lots of it, so am making two round trips to get it. I tackle it by calling it a muscle-building day

Nothing else after that work is done, I shall be shattered so some tv watching and trying not to nod off this evening

Beechnut Sat 24-Sept-22 06:44:23

Good Morning everyone from a getting light Severnside. There is the pink glow from the rising sun and a mpsliver of moon.

I’m changing the bed and cleaning upstairs today. I’ll then go and potter outside. I want to make the most of the dry weather to get the majority of my jobs up together. As I plod on its pleasing me to see the results. I sawed up some branches yesterday afternoon. It was a job I wanted to get done before my neighbours came back off their holiday as my saw is noisy, even for me with my ears.

Good wishes to you all ??

Feelingmyage55 Sat 24-Sept-22 06:57:01

Good morning from a very autumnal Scotland. Posting early for once as it it generally too late when I come home. Visiting and shopping this morning then if it is not too cold I will plant a bag of spring bulbs then do some cutting back of shrubs.
ginster I hope your daughter is feeling brighter today and has had a good night’s sleep.
Michael. Take care of yourself.
To all have the best weekend you can.

Ashcombe Sat 24-Sept-22 07:05:06

Good morning, all, from a promising looking day in Crewe.

We definitely want to return to Tewkesbury to explore further as we fell in love with what we saw. Our journey North went well with no major delays on the motorway.

It was good to arrive in time to see DGD for a few hours before she headed out with her Mum, who is chaperoning performers. Before they left, flowers arrived from various well wishers including a beautiful bouquet from her aunt (my DD1) in Australia, causing DGD to ask how she was able to use a local florist!

Once they had left, DH and I shopped for our forgotten but very necessary items, you’ll be relieved to know!! Much later, they arrived home full of the success of the opening night.

Enjoy whatever you’ve planned, including quiet time at home, grandMattie - you’ll be busy when you kindly open your home to the convalescent!

I hope the poor lady in Southampton Hospital is now more comfortable, Sar53 and fine weather enables the gardeners to fulfil plans.

We will have a quiet day until SIL drives two very excited old folk and DGS2 to the final performance tonight.?????

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 24-Sept-22 07:15:51

Good morning from an overcast Pollensa, rain is due today and tomorrow, a small shop will have to be done this morning to see us through to Tuesday when we leave for home.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Greyduster Sat 24-Sept-22 07:19:30

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Chilly in South Yorkshire, but dry at the moment. Think we could get some rain today. I slept like a top last night (does anyone know where that expression came from, or even what it means??). Not a lot planned for today; some plants to clear away that have gone over, but later I am going over to DDs to have dinner and spend the night. I have to say I like my own bed these days but I don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
Have the best day you can folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 24-Sept-22 07:27:08

Morning all from a rather wet Norfolk. We had hoped to go to Cromer and the seaside today, but we’ll see. I can hear the rain on the roof!

ShazzaKanazza Sat 24-Sept-22 07:30:13

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Sar hope your Son in law finds his Mum more comfortable when he visits her tomorrow. Enjoy your meet up today with your girls.

Ashcombe have a great time tonight. Try not to stand up and declare ‘that’s my grandaughter’ lol. I wanted to do it so many times when my daughter danced. What a proud moment.

Today we have our DD and GDs coming for lunch so we can have lots of cuddles before we go away tomorrow. We will somehow create a buffet using up out of the fridge with additions from the freezer.
Tonight we have friends and sister in law and her partner coming for a takeaway and drinks.

Lovely to hear about all the gardening going on.

Have a lovely day but thoughts and virtual hugs to those with worries and family troubles ??

Urmstongran Sat 24-Sept-22 07:31:22

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a mild south Manchester. We are off in a couple of hours to mind the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss till tomorrow lunchtime. Our son in law has a birthday next week and they have planned a weekend away. We think we might take the children for their tea to TGI Friday’s in the Trafford Centre. They do love it and don’t go very often.

Wish me luck this evening as L’il Miss can stall for England at bedtime!

I bet you’re fizzing with excitement for tonight’s performance Ash you’ll be clock watching all day. You sound more than ready to come home Oops I think you were right, a holiday beside the sea would have suited you better. It’s very quiet inland, albeit charming. Enjoy your gardens ladies - a good idea to make the most of these nice autumnal days!

brook2704 Sat 24-Sept-22 07:38:06

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with some bits of blue sky, I’m hoping it stays dry
What a shame about your SILs mum Sar, especially on holiday. I hope she’s better soon
I’m maybe having lunch with DD2 today if she’s free, I never really know until the last minute when she makes her mind up. I think she waits to see if she gets a better offer! ?
Have a wonderful evening Ash I’m sure you will, how lovely about the flowers
Sounds like a busy weekend Urms enjoy every minute!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Wyllow3 Sat 24-Sept-22 07:46:05

Morning all from S Yorks.

I'm nearly packed -setting out to drive up to M1 to see family further north.. Well, at least it's dry...atm....

I hope others enjoy family and other outings, and gardening is successful....and childcare not too exhausting...meals delicious

tho Grey I do agree one's own bed is best, I have to sleep in the playroom

May the rain stop in Cromer, and elsewhere for beaches and driving.

what good days ahead - watercolour and quilting

ginny Sat 24-Sept-22 07:47:22

Good morning everyone from N. Bucks where the sun is trying to peep through.
Enjoy the performance Ashcombe.
Enjoy the painting Bluebalou.

Not much in particular planned for the weekend so after a quick food shop and a few chores I’ll crack on with the ‘pillowcase dresses’ and hopefully do some art work.
Wishing all a good day and special thoughts to those with illness or other problems.

grandMattie Sat 24-Sept-22 07:49:31

How lovely for your DGD to get all those flowers, Ash. All the best for this evening. ❤️
Ps. Glad you managed to get all the “necessaries”!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 24-Sept-22 07:51:37

Morning all

Sar53 enjoy brunch with your girls

Ashcombe you must be so proud of your GD

We are off to a GC’s 3rd Birthday party this afternoon, I have no idea where those years have gone

This morning more pottering, I have started sorting through kitchen cupboards.

Have a good weekend folks ??‍♀️

Gingster Sat 24-Sept-22 07:58:16

Good morning all and it’s very still and damp looking here in Essex.

We have all (most) of the family coming for a buffet lunch tomorrow, so a bit of baking is on the cards today. We haven’t all been together for quite a while so it will be great to see them.

Sar - have a lovely day in London with your girls. I hope the poor lady in southampton recovers soon. ?.

Ash enjoy the performance tonight . ?.
Feelingmyage thanks ❤️.
*Chrisslielou - hope all goes well for your daughter next week. ?.

Hoping you all have a ‘GOOD’ day. ???

Pittcity Sat 24-Sept-22 07:59:15

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Not much to report here as we have no plans this weekend.
DS turned up unexpectedly late last night and will sleep in until afternoon. He has left his laundry out for me.
Love to all ? x

cornergran Sat 24-Sept-22 07:59:35

Morning Mick, morning All. The sky is clearing over our corner of Somerset.

Off over the bridge to see our friend if she’s up to it. She said yesterday she’s wasn’t as well as she’d need to be to enjoy seeing us and part of the family. If no phone call in half an hour off we’ll go so best get a wriggle on.

Hope todays plans work well for everyone and Saturday is kind to us all.

Greyduster Sat 24-Sept-22 08:02:25

Safe travels, Wyllow, and anyone else on the road today.

Ashcombe Sat 24-Sept-22 08:03:10

Yes, thank you, grandMattie the “necessaries” were found in TJMaxx, much needed in these chillier climes!! DH has just airdropped a photo of the bouquet sent by DD2 who is in Australia.

Many thanks for all the lovely comments, folks. ?

Grandmabatty Sat 24-Sept-22 08:04:48

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently a very chilly 4° with beautiful blue autumnal skies. Mick enjoy your trip. Sar I hope your dils dm is better soon. What a shame for her. BlueBalou have a good day painting. Feelingmyage I'm going to buy spring bulbs today for planting. Ashcombe have a lovely time. You'll need a bigger size in hats! Urms dgs1 can put off going to bed like a professional so I know what you mean. Good luck with the many questions, drinks of water, need the toilet. Safe journey Wyllow.
Yesterday was fun. I had dgs2 for a few hours. He was a joy, apart from trying to dismantle my fire, stick his fingers in sockets and pull any wire he could see. He's a ten months old wrecking crew. It is lovely to have him on his own as he doesn't get a look in when his big brother visits. He was blethering away lots in baby speak. Then I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy and it was all there! That is a red letter day as usually something is missing or incomplete. I used my brand new air fryer and had chicken and chips for dinner and they were so crispy.
Today I'm meeting an old friend for breakfast at my local garden centre. It was my choice for the venue. As well as an excellent breakfast menu, I have bulbs to buy and birthday money to spend. After that I'll potter about the house and garden. Today has to be the nicer of the two so I'll make the most of tidying the garden and getting washing out. Cottage pie for dinner. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Sat 24-Sept-22 08:06:19

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is only 2°C!
What a change in the temperature.

I had a delightful morning with DIL and Dollie yesterday. Ever the teacher, I quizzed her about her school Viking project. She informed me that she had made a Viking, so I asked his name. Sven,? Thor? She replied, Rapunzel! ?
DIL and Dollie, came to find me in Tesco, just as I was having a random trolley search, AGAIN!! This is the third time in a row, this has happened in this particular Tesco.
I feel I am a marked woman. I fear my mugshot is displayed somewhere. ?
I didn't even venture into TKMAXX next door, (a different one from my usual haunt), I think I'm jinxed!

I don't plan to do much today. I had a minor heart episode last night, first one in ages, which unsettled me. I had become quite complacent.
The only onerous task, I shall undertake today is making Mars Bar cake for DS2, because we are going to visit tomorrow.
Also, I have grown three bonsai trees from seed, so I need to repot one to take to DIL2.
She is also the grateful recipient of my redundant Cricut, Hotshot and Sizzix machines. I no longer have the dexterity to craft and they are only taking up room. My Swedish death clean is progressing well! ?

Wishing you all a pleasant day, especially those spending time with families. I hope the poorly lady in Southampton, gets the treatment she needs. What a frightening experience for her.
My thoughts are with those who are struggling, for whatever the reason.
