Hoping you feel much better soon nannytopsy and your plans next week aren’t disrupted too much
The same here grandmabatty a miserable day and I’ve not been out except to the bins. I’ve been doing some much needed cleaning and tidying / decluttering
I’ve just sat down with a cuppa - I might be a while ?

Grandmabatty Thu 20-Oct-22 12:46:26

Get better soon Nannytopsy. The weather here is horrible. It's wet and cold. I'm having a very lazy day.

Blossoming Thu 20-Oct-22 12:44:18

You are having a rough time Nannytopsy, I hope you feel better soon flowers

Nannytopsy Thu 20-Oct-22 12:07:28

Hello the kitchen. Another slow start here. I’m still coughing and still testing negative, so we don’t know what to do about all of next weeks plans. Such a pain!

brook2704 Wed 19-Oct-22 21:47:01

Grandmabatty ?

That’s my sort of afternoon Aldom - doesn’t time fly when you’re sat with a friend chatting away!
Strange isn’t it Annsixty even though I’m many miles away I often go Dunelm and The Range too so I can visualise your shopping trip! I quite like our Dunelm cafe as it’s upstairs and overlooks the floor below so you can see all the comings and goings and where the bargains are!
I quite like Doc Martin muse too but mainly to see the beautiful coastal scenery. When we did our coast path walk we walked right past the famous white cottage in Port Isaac onto Port Gaverne, such beautiful scenery

Aldom Wed 19-Oct-22 20:50:14

Muse please spill the beans and tell me, what is frog in a bog? Is it something like toad in the hole?
I've had a lovely day. A Gransnet friend and I met up for a natter in Marks and Spencer cafe. We started nattering at 12.30. Eventually I looked around and the cafe was empty, the staff were cleaning. We looked at the time. It was 5.30!!!
My thoughts are with all who are unwell, sad or anxious.
Welcome to Maggs
I'm going to watch another relaxing episode of Doc Martin. smile

annsixty Wed 19-Oct-22 20:49:31

Good evening all.
I have been out today after turning down a few outings.
A friend picked me up and we went to Dunelm where the cafe and toilets were closed so we went to the Range , had coffee and did a bit of shopping.
I enjoyed it and realised I must get out more so have arranged to go to a local garden centre tomorrow.
We may have lunch just see how it goes.
I have been feeling sorry for myself with absolutely no justification when I realise what our fellow kitcheners are going through.
So a sharp kick up the ….and I will buck myself up.
TOYA in your tribulations.

Good evening kind Kitcheners. I've caught up with all the news both ups and downs and sending a virtual hug to those needing one ? .

Welcome to MaggsMcG. There is sometimes a cake to be found in the kitchen and always a comfy chair ?

Settling down in front of the TV is just what I intend to do brook. I wonder if you are a Doc Martin fan? Our dinner, frog in a bog, is almost ready so I'll get busy making the gravy.

So much sadness, sepsis is scary, hopefully there is more awareness now than there used to be. And llfl hope your migraine is well on the way out, 57 is no age, more sadness.
No after effects from the dentist, phew.
I had a drive today taking a lady of 88 to see her husband, with dementia, in his care home ‘he doesn’t know if I’m there, but I feel guilty if I don’t go’.
Planted up tubs and baskets with violas, cheery little faces.
Welcome to MaggsMcG.
Enjoy your evening all x

GrandmaBatty flowers

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 19-Oct-22 18:53:09

Curates egg of a day. Lovely U3A lunch. Annoyingly there was a flickering light and I developed a migraine. I took a Triptan and OH drove me home. I was still feeling woozy but had to go to Oxford for a bone density scan. Still grim, so I’m missing tonight’s WI meeting. Never mind. Sadly I had news today regarding another of our neighbours who died at the weekend. (His mother died a few weeks ago.) He was only 57 but was awaiting a liver transplant. Have a good evening everyone.
Well, at least Sue Braverman resigned today! Every cloud.

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Oct-22 18:46:02

Blossoming and BladeAnnie my lovely dad died of sepsis eleven years ago this month. No-one expected him to die so quickly but it was a blessed release for him as he had advanced prostrate cancer. I'm sorry you lost a friend Blossoming and you had it BladeAnnie. I miss my dad to this day.

Urmstongran Wed 19-Oct-22 18:43:19

Forgot ‘Dixon’. ?

Urmstongran Wed 19-Oct-22 18:42:14

‘Evening All’

A day of not doing much to be honest. A bit of pottering (I was playing ‘handbags sorting’ as you do) and a lot of reading my Kindle. (Night Road by Kristen Hannah). The weather has been slightly chilly so we decided not to go out today after all.
#lazygran

Himself plans to watch the Man. Utd match later so I think I’ll tune into Netflix. Home from home!

Just popping in to catch up and to welcome Maggs

I've been really tired today so have been watching the news - exhausted now!! Daft idea

Sending everyone best wishes. Back later!

Nannytopsy Wed 19-Oct-22 18:34:43

Welcome MaggsMcG - this is a good place to be.
It’s been another glorious day today but the forecast for tomorrow is something else! Indoor jobs I think. There is a large cupboard in our bedroom that needs a joint effort…
Have a good evening everyone TOYA

Blossoming Wed 19-Oct-22 18:15:40

Every time I feel sorry for myself, I just have to remind myself how lucky I am still to be here.

BladeAnnie those are my thoughts exactly! I’m a happy wee soul mostly, we can’t choose what happens but we can choose how we deal with it.

Blossoming Wed 19-Oct-22 18:10:06

Good evening lovely Kitcheners and a warm welcome to MaggsMcG. GrannyEggs I agree with Soop, tell it like it is!

You’ve all been very busy and it’s good to hear of meetings with friends and other outings, It’s been quite stormy here today, the wind is from the east and very noisy. Lentil soup followed by apple pie for tea. This week’s bakery treat ?. I think it will be an early night for me.

Hoping all poorly grans and poorly family have a restful night. TOYA ❤️

brook2704 Wed 19-Oct-22 17:49:40

Hello lovely kitcheners, just sat down to catch up with all our news after a busy but enjoyable day
Such a lot of very special people here, Blossoming you’ve certainly been through the mill so to say, and I admire your resilience, good humour and determination- well done to you and to everyone else who is struggling with life’s challenges too
A very warm welcome to MaggsMcG lovely to see you here
I’ve been to the gym for dance aerobics followed by Aqua aerobics and then spent a couple of hours in Starbucks chatting with my friend, the day has just flown by.
A quick stir fry for tea and then settle down in front of the tv.
Hope your DGS is better soon grandmabatty and ready for the park.
Sending ❤️❤️❤️ to everyone in need of some tlc

BladeAnnie Wed 19-Oct-22 17:20:43

Good afternoon dear kitcheners - we've had another beautiful autumnal day and the breeze is hurrying the leaves from the trees ??. I love this time of year ?. I'm sitting with my feet up enjoying a cuppa and Duncan - bless his little heart - has cone to sit with me ??. Blossoming and nannytopsy - I really feel for you losing friends to sepsis ? - there really are no words. I'm a sepsis survivor and I know it was a very close and every time I feel sorry for myself, I just have to remind myself how lucky I am still to be here. Gentle hugs to everyone in need of a little comfort. TOYA ??

BlueBalou Wed 19-Oct-22 17:04:29

Hello everyone from a breezy north Wiltshire, just back from walking DDog and lugging a bag of books collected from a friend en route- my arms are nearly dragging along the floor. I should have taken the car ?
Does anyone know what to do with the sloes from sloe gin please? I seem to have 4 litres of liqueur and presumably about 4kgs of sodden sloes….. ?‍?
So sorry there’s such sadness here, sending hugs and large glasses of sloe gin ?

soop Wed 19-Oct-22 16:54:47

MaggsMcG Welcome. Please make yourself at home in our friendly kitchen.

Grannyeggs Your opinion matters. Just tell it as it is. smile

Good afternoon kitcheners, from a warm sunny Salisbury.Blossoming, so sorry to hear about your friend, losing a friend is very painful.
My local book club meeting tonight, and I’m wading through the book, and dislike it so much I’m wondering if I should just ditch itconfused

MaggsMcG Wed 19-Oct-22 14:40:43

I've just found this page. I will read for a while as reading all your kind comments to everyone else has helped me anyway. If I can ever help anyone I will chip in. I have only just found "Watch" so I can follow pages that I used to lose.
