Just checking on baggs and pleased to see you have posted, brave lady!

The fact that you are keeping in tough tells me you are going to be a huge help to your family.

I missed the gm thread this morning so just wanted to say a huge thank you to the people who sent birthday wished to Wolfie.

He had a new bike and a moustache!!

dustyangel Fri 14-Oct-22 15:55:46

We’ve been having a beautiful Indian summer sort of day here. Foretold by last nights sunset when we were surrounded by pink streaks in the sky.

Thinking of you Baggs and wishing you and your daughter strength.?

soop Fri 14-Oct-22 16:16:14

Well, that was a job worth doing. Stuff to bin or recycle. Dust removed, It's time for a cup of tea before I blitz the computer/music/art studio.

Fish and chips! A meal fit for any occasion. Our favourite.

Safe journey home, dear Baggs. May I please speak on the 'phone - sometime when you feel able to do so?

soop Fri 14-Oct-22 16:17:55

kitty Birthday greetings galore to a very handsome Wolfie. By gum, the tash suits him. X

Jaxjacky Fri 14-Oct-22 16:42:52

A dull day here in S Hants, it’s just drizzled for a few minutes, I’ve bought violas and some greenery to plant up hanging baskets and window boxes.
Two lots of sauce for lasagna on the go, one veggie, family here tomorrow for lunch.
Never far from my thoughts Baggs
Enjoy your evening all x

mrshat Fri 14-Oct-22 16:50:29

O Baggs. No words are adequate. Keep doing what you are doing so well. Let those tears flow when needed. Love and prayers flowers

Grandmabatty Fri 14-Oct-22 17:02:30

Happy birthday to Wondrous Wolfie. I hope he has had a great day. I hope you feel better Kitty. I'm just home from spending an afternoon with a chum. We blethered for Scotland. Leftover pizza for dinner. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Chrissielou Fri 14-Oct-22 17:20:49

We have a supper of pizza too, our lazy Friday night treat!
A day at a time Baggs and when that's too difficult, an hour or just one minute at a time. My thoughts are with you, and I send you a virtual hug, from one mum to another.

Galen Fri 14-Oct-22 17:21:45

Thinking of you Bags.
I too have lost a child so I know what it’s like.

brook2704 Fri 14-Oct-22 17:32:28

Lovely pictures of Woolfie Kitty thanks for sharing, I hope he had a super birthday!
Also thanks to dustyangel for the beautiful sky pictures
I’m just home from town, I was at the gym earlier for a splash around in the pool and then popped into M&S to return some things I’d bought online
Hope you have a lovely time with the family Jax and enjoy lunch - sounds yummy

Baggs is in my thoughts, you too Galen sending gentle hugs ❤️

‘Evening All’

Kudos to you Baggs ‘dragon mother’ par excellence. You remain in our hearts here in soops comforting kitchen. We are only heartbeat away should your dragon fire splutter.

I’ve had a manicure and Himself made a delicious chilli (like most men it’s his signature dish). I went to the GP surgery for a weigh in. My monitored weight loss diet is working. I’ve shed 6lbs in 3 weeks so I’m delighted, as you can all imagine. I’m only disappointed in myself that I have 2sts to lose.

How and when did I ever let myself get so greedy and fat? As the nurse said today “you didn’t just wake up fat one morning. This has crept up over 4 years of bad eating habits and poor choices.”

Hope lunch with your family goes well Jax tomorrow.

Urmstongran Fri 14-Oct-22 19:48:42

? for you Galen. x

soop Fri 14-Oct-22 20:32:00

I was moved by your post Urms. Thank you.

flowers for Galen

I shall log off for today. TOYA. smile moon

Nannytopsy Sat 15-Oct-22 12:13:10

Urms that is just the kind of comment that stops me going to that kind of programme! Don’t patronise me would have been my reply.
Doing a bit of a clean up today and even mopping the floors. DS & DGC coming for pizza later, before we put the oven away for the winter, then DD& DGS arrive tomorrow for a couple of days. We just had a short video of him gurgling away in the bath. ?
As always, thoughts are with Baggs &Galen.
Back to work …

soop Sat 15-Oct-22 12:26:09

Nannytopsy Enjoy some lovely family time. Gurgling babies in their baths are a joy to behold.

It is a quiet day, weather-wise. We have no plans to go out and about. The house is decently clean and tidy. Sweetie Pie (feral cat) is feasting on freshly chopped chicken. Mr Soop bought the chicken yesterday. He seems to have a special sense of when to expect our visitor.

Our dear friends remain foremost in our thoughts.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 15-Oct-22 12:33:45

Sending Saturday (((hugs))) to all our kitchen friends in need.

A quiet day here in Gravy Grange, I shall be curled up with my kindle and iPad for most of it.

?‍♀️?‍♀️

soop Sat 15-Oct-22 12:42:40

GrannyGravy I chuckled when I read "Gravy Grange". Most appropriate. smile

soop Sat 15-Oct-22 15:49:46

It is awfully quiet and lonely in our kitchen this afternoon. Please will some lovely people pop in for a wee chat.

mumofmadboys Sat 15-Oct-22 16:12:08

Hi all, have been on gransnet a lot less recently as been busier than usual. We are presently in Portugal staying with our two sons who live here. Having a relaxing time! Do read quite a lot of the posts but often feel I have nothing intersting to add!

Grannmarie Sat 15-Oct-22 16:39:46

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!?

I'm just back from a wee walk with Granddog, his family is coming to reclaim him tomorrow. I'll miss his company and the routine, but not the 6.30 am rises!

I've made another pot of lentil soup, my winter staple, please fill your mugs and help yourselves to crusty bread.

Well done with your weight loss, Urms!
I've lost 5lbs since I had Covid, but I've found a craving for carbs, especially crusty bread, so I'm afraid it will go back on again!

Thinking of everyone, especially Baggsflowersand Galen. flowers

My mother lost her son, my brother, to leukaemia when he was 12. I remember him every day, we were very close, a year between us. I have lived my adult life in fear of losing a child. ???

Jaxjacky Sat 15-Oct-22 16:45:32

I won’t be losing any weight, just had all the family, children and grandchildren here for lunch. Lasagna, garlic bread, salad then blackberry and apple crumble. Just about to waddle down the pub to meet friends.

kittylester Sat 15-Oct-22 16:58:18

Hi Everyone. I am here!! I am feeling loads better now my abs have kicked in but still have no stamina.

I look at things from my bed and think 'I'll sort when I next get up' only to find that actually getting up is the most I can achieve. Hey ho - we'll get there. DH is very patient - I'm not.

Still sending love to our baggs, please make sure she knows how much love is going her way, soop. And to you and MrS.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 15-Oct-22 17:08:52

Hi soop I am curled up in my favourite chair, reading a very lightweight chickit paperback given to me by a dear friend. It’s ok but predictable which is fine for me at the moment.

The wind is getting up, the sky is darkening, I really am not a fan of the shorter days. I can cope with the cold as long as the sky is blue, grey skies really make me miserable and withdraw into myself.

Thinking of our dear Baggs

GrannyGravy13 Sat 15-Oct-22 17:10:00

kittylester your body is telling you to rest, please do. You will be up and about soon enough ???

Charleygirl5 Sat 15-Oct-22 17:13:55

kitty you have had a rough ride recently-I do hope that *Mr L is looking after you and you did not have to give him a map to find the kitchen.

soop I am sure that Sweetie Pie will be visiting next Saturday. Perhaps breast of chicken for her and dark meat in a roll for me, please? I promise we will not be any bother to you, we both know our place.

I hope Baggs is getting some rest during this horrendous traumatic time. Love to her family.

soop the rest does not stop there- you are also ordered to rest even if it is relaxing and painting a beloved animal.
