Happy as can be
All good pals and
Jolly Good Company
WELCOME to you lovely lot
SueD for you ?
Thinking of you too cornergran you seem to have such a lot going on, I hope things improve a bit soon, sending much ❤️
‘Evening All’
(beat you to it Doodle hehe! ?)
We’ve been out for a long stroll around Arroyo de la Miel. Sat in the warm sunshine for a coffee, then a bit more wandering about until we sat in the shade with an alcohol-free beer. We bought half a rotisserie chicken while we were up there. That’s tonight’s dinner sorted.
#lazygran
Oh SueDonim your news came as a shock to read and must have knocked you sideways. As you say such a bolt out of the blue goes against what we all perceive as the natural order of things. I sincerely hope your son’s treatment brings optimism for the future for you all. ?
soop I hope that painting turns up very soon! I think the postal service is somewhat sluggish these days.
cornergran no wonder you’ve had such a busy mind. You have such a lot on your plate right now. I hope events sort out better than you fear.
As ever I can’t turn into the kitchen without thinking of Baggs, her daughter and their family and what they must all be going through. x
Hmm only by a few seconds Urms I was posting elsewhere ?
Sunshine and shade….yes I vaguely remember those things. Been raining here all day. Alcohol free beer, is that water ?
Suedonim and Baggs thinking of you both and all those with family or health troubles at the moment.
SueDonim so sad to hear your news ??
Urmstongran Arroyo is definitely a busy pueblo.
Good to hear you are both enjoying your happy place.
for SueD and Corner.
Susan I hope you can get your mum settled very soon.
A fairly quiet day apart from a bit of DGC ferrying. DiL has cut DGS’s hair into the sort of cut that made my heart sink when I was in school, expecting trouble!
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Just popping in to say hello and to give a massive group hug to all that need one, and all that don’t too, a hug never goes amiss.
I have heard from the hospital this morning, CT scan next Friday morning and ophthalmology appointment next Friday afternoon. 2 more hurdles to overcome and then hopefully freedom
. If the ophthalmologist does recommend surgery it should be over and done with in time for Christmas. I’m both dreading it and looking forward to it ?. My vision is getting worse and it will be wonderful if they can help.
I’ll keep everything crossed for you Blossoming if anyone deserves it, you definitely do.
MrJ has gone to pick up a new microwave, the lining in ours is cracked and peeling, the new one has a grill and was a very reasonable price.
Hope everyone is having a reasonable day x
Thank you Jax.
Fingers crossed that it goes the way you want Blossoming. Another quiet day for me. I've been to Aldi and stocked up. I'm making slow cooker stovies for dinner. That, and some housework before I settle down to watch Strictly. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
We are off for a big family meal this evening to celebrate our DD1's 40th birthday, but also to celebrate that she's come through 8months of chemo and is now in remission. I've made a big birthday cake which is decorated with edible flowers. All through some very grim months when she was really struggling physically and emotionally, my DD1 planned this evening, it seemed so far in the future at that time with so many cycles of gruelling chemo to get through, but the day has finally arrived.
My thoughts and prayers go to those who are now on that difficult journey with their beloved children. I know how it feels and I want to say I'm always here, yes I'm a stranger, but I'm a good listener and do have an idea how you may be feeling.
Chrissielou I am wearing an ear-to-ear grin as I read your message. Wow! Have yourselves a right royal celebration.
Blossoming Us lot send a multitude of positive vibes. You deserve to be reassured.
Hello everyone. I had another hospital appointment today! This time it was an ultrasound scan of my abdomen. The radiologist told me that she couldn’t see anything sinister and will write a report to my GP. That is quite a relief. My stress levels have been through the roof since this latest round of medical shenanigans. My GP is back from her holiday next week so hopefully she will read through all the various reports - CT scan, colonoscopy, bone density scan and today’s ultrasound. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
It has been a very quiet day. Rain started as we were leaving the house for our daily walk. I shall therefore exercise on the bike.
I have so little news to share with you. However, my thoughts for so many of our Kitcheners who are dealing with sad and personal family issues remain with me whatever I do.
The painting has not been delivered. Another hey ho!
I shall return tomorrow. Take good care of yourselves.

Ladyleftfieldlover

Ladyleftfieldlover good news, of sorts. You've had the works recently! Chrissielou have a lovely time tonight. Happy 40th birthday to your daughter.
Thank you Grandmabatty and Soop so kind of you. Hair done, make up on and I'm ready to go.
Very pleased to hear tests have now all finished Ladyleftfieldlover, a stressful time for you.
Thank you for the much appreciated group hug Blossoming, always very welcome. Fingers crossed the ophthalmologist can help and improve your vision a bit for you too
It’s been grey, misty and wet all day here so I’ve been out shopping most of the day - got a few extra treats for one of my step sons and his family who are all visiting next week and some not too scary Halloween decorations for the DGC
Hoping Chrissilou has a wonderful evening celebrating in the best possible way! Such a brave DD, so pleased for her and all the family
Sounds like good news for you too llfl, hopefully no more worries now
I’ll be opening the wine soon and settling down to watch Strictly grandmabatty, I’m nowhere near as good a cook as you though so it’s Charlie Bigham again for me tonight.
Hi to Jax hope the new microwave is good!
Decent day for us.. Enjoyed a coffee and a shared toasted tea cake in our favourite little garden centre cafe this morning and found all the bits of shopping we needed in one supermarket. A minor miracle. Mr C washed the car - it’s been raining since then
. Three phone calls this afternoon and it was time for Strictly. Tomorrow we really must get the curtains changed and the edges of the carpet steamed, somehow it’s slipped back a day at a time for a week. Oops.
That cake sounds superb chrissielou, enjoy this special celebration and a big happy birthday to your daughter.
You’ll soon know blossoming, all good wishes for the tests.
Sounds good news ladylfl, hope the worries will soon be passed.
Have the best evening you can everyone. TOYA.
May I wish you and your family the best evening of celebrations Chrissielou a hard path you’ve trodden.
Full MOT then llfl I’d be a wreck, fingers crossed for a full house of ✅ in all of the boxes.
Miserable here, wet and chilly, we’ll hunker down and watch something that’s moving ?
Chrissielou I hope your celebration is a rip-roaring success! Your dd sounds like she deserves every moment, after such an ordeal. ? ? ? Thank you for your kind words about being a listening ear, too.
LLFL, glad you’re through all the tests.
Blossoming hope you get your treatment soon.
Soop
at the painting. Might it be held up somewhere due to postal strikes?
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!?
Soop, I hope your doggy painting turns up soon.?
Chrissielou, what a lovely message of hope and support. Many happy returns to your DD, I hope you all have a wonderful celebration. The cake sounds amazing! ?
Love and prayers for Baggs, SueD, and all who are worrying about the health of loved ones. ??
Blossoming, Ladyleftfieldlover, I hope all your tests bring positive results.
Brook, enjoy your family visit for Hallowe'en !
Grandmabatty, I'm also enjoying Strictly, Saturday night relaxation. ?
Cornergran, I hope things settle down a bit soon, try to rest when you can. You have a lot to contend with.
Happy new microwave, Jaxjacky, its something we can't manage without, especially if we're trying to cut down on oven use.
Nannytopsy, I hope the wee boy's hair grows back quickly!
Tomorrow, DH and I drive up country for a lovely hotel/spa break near the Falls of Clyde. We used to walk up there when we were younger and fitter. Looking forward to the views and the autumn colours.
Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend, TOYA, NNGB.
Just popped in to say have a great time ChrissieLou, bet you have the biggest smile imaginable!
That's a buggeration, soop after all your hard work.
SD I am sorry to hear about your son and send my best wishes for a successful treatment and a good outcome.
As the mother of chronically ill daughter I understand the fear and helplessness a sick child brings.
I wont say stay strong because there are times when screaming at the moon or crying your eyes out help much more ,I will say I'll keep him and your family in mind and light a candle for you all .
