Good Morning Everyone,
Dark as usual , but remains dry here in brackley .
Doing my usual bus routine to Bicester , where I meet up on occasions with people who I used to work with .
Also in the town the annual fair has returned , due to it being taken down when originally on due to the Queens death .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, a dry start here too.
I collected my ‘new to me’ car yesterday, today I need to put my bits and bobs back in and the dog covers for the back seat.
My sister is coming for lunch and then I have art group later.
DH vacuumed through yesterday afternoon and says the new carpet upstairs is ‘full of these’ - handing me what looks like a ball bearing ?
Apparently he’s ‘always finding them’… Well, as I neither possess nor wander around scattering ball bearings I don’t have a clue where they came from although I did suggest perhaps it was from the vacuum cleaner, who knows ??‍♀️. It’s one of those mysteries I guess!
I have mislaid my little travel iron, I use it for patchwork, so I need to have a good search today.
I hope you all have a lovely day, thinking of those with troubles and tribulations ?

Good morning from a fine (sun is promised!) Torbay.

Thank you for your kind comments about my recently deceased friend. As was said by, Taichinan, “Losing people is the saddest part of old age.”

Yesterday, at Wednesday Club we had a talk on Elgar with extracts of his music which I enjoyed. About 20 or more turned up which was pleasing. The lovely guy who runs it, a stalwart of Toads, has this motto about attendance: “If you have something better to do, then do it!!”

Enjoy whatever you have planned for today. ?????

Ashcombe Thu 06-Oct-22 06:09:06

BlueBalou: could the little balls be from your cavity wall insulation? We had this problem at my previous house when the recently installed insulation found odd gaps in the plaster through which to escape!

BlueBalou Thu 06-Oct-22 06:21:54

I don’t think so Ashcombe, we don’t have that type of insulation and no holes have been made.
It’s really peculiar isn’t it? He says ‘It’s in every room’ yet I haven’t seen any at all (hard floor downstairs, vinyl in loo and bathroom) and yesterday I was laying out fabric on the bedroom carpet and I didn’t see any!
I really think it’s the vacuum cleaner, but he won’t have it!

It’s a tiny metal sphere, probably 2 or 3mm diameter L

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark but dry in South Yorkshire; just the faintest glimmer of dawn on the horizon. Our lastest car viewing excursion was quite productive but they didn’t have an automatic I could test drive so I will have to wait until next week, but an appointment to drive another make tomorrow when the weather looks as if it is going to be very wet☹️! I’m going over to see my niece today, and then I have a flu jab at five o’clock.
Have a good day folks!

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton, so I don't know what the weather is like; just hope it's dry as I have the towels ready to hang out.

Early this morning as I need to be ready for an engineer to come and service the security system - said they would be here any time between 9am - 1 pm. So I have changed my Sainsbury's delivery to the afternoon, as it's easier to cope with one thing at a time. Hoping to get on with my knitting while I am waiting in.

Wishing all a pleasant Thursday; hope you find out where the ball-bearings are coming from, BluBalou!

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Menorca.

We are just chilling on our balcony. We’ve had breakfast and packed and need to have the car back by ten o’clock. I wish we could stay longer.
Yesterday we went to the highest point on the island with a full 360 view. Amazing.
We had a last wander down into Mahon where I enjoyed some paella and sangria and last night the most tasty tapas.

BlueBalou that’s a mystery where the ball bearings are coming from.

Hope everyone has a good day and those with troubles some respite. ??

Morning all from a slightly misty, clear S Hants. Had a good catch up with a friend yesterday at lunch here, a bit of village gossip!
MrJ at last got his inhaler from the GP, with all the new houses, they’re very stretched. Indoor bowls tonight.
Wishing those with worries and sorrows a better day, Baggs.
??

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it isn't raining.

Not a lot happening here - again - but I am hoping to go downstairs and hopefully get back upstairs later.

Yesterday, I had a lovely visit from DD3 and the wondrous Wolfie which really cheered me up. He can add 2 and 1 and sometimes it even makes 3. grin

Best wishes to everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I am popping into Oxford later this morning. OH has some expensive dental treatment coming up so I will move some money around! I have the notes from last night’s rather bad tempered WI Committee meeting to type up. One of our number is off the scale annoying. Tonight I will cook cauliflower and broccoli cheese before having an online zoom chat with friends. I should also read through my colonoscopy info for next weeksad

Good morning everyone.
A morning of bits and bobs for me and then sewing club this afternoon. Also hope I can get the bed sheets out on the line.

Hope today is good to you all with special thoughts for those who are poorly or have worries.

Good morning from Sefton. Probably dry & dull out there this morning. Can't hear wind or rain. Will look later.
Covid jab yesterday. Very disturbed night. Sore arm & headache & very tired this morning. Should be going to my Zumba class (with real people) which I enjoy but think I will give it a miss.
Take care all.

grandMattie Thu 06-Oct-22 07:35:15

Morning. I’m here, been busy. Shall post later.

Chrissielou Thu 06-Oct-22 07:38:07

A promising start to this autumnal morning in my little piece of rural West Oxfordshire. I am working at home today thank goodness, Monday was a difficult day with a huge burst water main close to where I work, a 25min journey took me 2.5 hours. Total chaos at rush hour.
I must admit to feeling a little frazzled.
I have promised to make a couple of Christmas cakes and have DD1's special birthday cake to make too, I have been busy researching and purchasing cake decorations and supplies. I'm an experienced baker but decorating isn't really one of my (few) skills so we will see.
Seems to be a lot of worry and bad news amongst GNs, difficult times for many.

NannyJan53 Thu 06-Oct-22 07:39:58

Good morning from a bright blue skied Black Country, after heavy rain yesterday.

Loading up the car this morning as we are off to collect the caravan from Burnham, then drive down to Swanage. There is a Blues Festival on there so looking forward to that.

Menorca sounds lovely Shazza I have never been, so that's another place for my list! So many places so little time smile

Wishing you all a pleasant day

Wyllow3 Thu 06-Oct-22 07:41:59

Good Morning from S Yorks.

Not a good night, things on mind, but its always nice to come in with my latte and follow stories and ponder - the Mystery of the Ball-Bearings!

It's dawned with a light sky and I will be off to the gym for r and r. They have closed the jacuzzi's for the winter - I wasn't surprised, as energy costs wise something had to "give" and they haven't put fees up. but we have a cafe and I've been member for 20 years so catch some nice natters.

Sympathies for poorlies or sad, and bests for good family meets and safe travel.

Grammaretto Thu 06-Oct-22 07:43:23

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I shall be back later. I'm leading a walk with U3A this morning and hoping it doesn't rain.

I want to find out what the strange balls are BlueBalou shock

Gingster Thu 06-Oct-22 07:45:55

Good morning all and it’s brightish and very still here in Essex, after the strong winds yesterday.

Last night I went to choir and had a great sing along. So good for the soul!

Today I’m meeting a friend for coffee and cake. I’ll take the train as it’s only 2 stops and I live two minutes away from the station. It’s not worth driving with so many roads closed and busy plus the cost of parking. We started school together 67 years ago, - closest thing to the sister I never had. Our other pal was supposed to meet us but her husband surprised her with a trip to see her brother in Palma. ?.

Blubalou what a mystery. Do let us know if you solve it. ?.

Shazza always sad when a lovely holiday comes to an end. Safe journey back. ?.

Hoping you all have a good day ?

brook2704 Thu 06-Oct-22 07:50:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks windy with a few showers thrown into the forecast too
A quiet day for me today catching up on a few jobs after a busy but lovely day yesterday, catching up with friends and family.
Strange BlueBalou no idea!
Safe travels Shazza, Nannyjan and anyone else on the move today
I’ve been wondering if they’ll do something similar at our gym Wyllow it’s so lovely and warm, the pool, jacuzzis, studios and changing rooms etc. are very well heated, it must be so expensive
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

monk08 Thu 06-Oct-22 07:52:40

Good morning all from the Black country, after yesterday's nonstop rain the blue skies here are very welcome.
No plans today our friends were due to visit but one has gone down with the flu, unfortunately he his due to have an operation next Tuesday which has already been delayed once.
Will put some washing on make the most of the weather.
NannyJan enjoy your Blues festival.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Have a good Thursday everyone and may you all find some ?.

Pittcity Thu 06-Oct-22 07:57:05

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's chilly but due to reach 18° later and dry enough to hang the holiday washing out.
We had a smooth journey home from Seville where it was 28°.
Today is shopping and housework.
Love to all ? x
