What would you order?

If you go out to a general type of restaurant ( rather than Italian, Thai, Japanese etc.) what sort of food is your favourite to order? I tend to order stuff I wouldn’t make at home like duck, crème brûlée etc ( too hard for me to make !) If that is not available I go for something with nice vegetables or anything with eggplants.

I must confess that I do not enjoy eating out nowadays, possibly an age thing.
I did like Chinese or Thai food though, or Italian.
If I was to have a pub meal or English restaurant I would always choose a fish dish of some kind, or a vegetarian option.
Never a starter and rarely a pudding, as they serve meagre and not very good things in my view.

I usually go for duck, lamb or steak. A starter of goats cheese. Rarely a pudding, but I do have a nibble of DH’s. Then an Irish coffee

We have those tiny fish here, too but I think they are flathead. Delicious in flour and butter with black pepper, no bones.

Usually a curry of some kind plus an ice cream dessert or Eton Mess..my favourite.
