Good morning all from Sefton. I'm late again but it does mean I've had a good 7/8 hours sleep. I'm reluctant to mention the weather as it had me totally wrong footed yesterday (it's sunny). How can it turn from pouring down to a completely cloudless gloriously blue sky encouraging me to hang out the washing then back to pouring as soon as my back is turned.?

No plans for me today. OH is out doing something or other with the Lions club.
Roast chicken for dinner.

Wishing everyone a kind Sunday.

Good morning Mick and all from another beautiful morning on the Angus coast. Only 6° but that goes with the clear skies.
A very accomplished Joseph, grandmattie. I hope your DL was none the worse - and a good deal better! - for the ministrations of her physio friend.
Urms thank you for that lovely picture of the Highland coo - what is it that's so appealing about those shaggy beasts! And annsixty your Hamish ornament is so cute. Thanks for sharing.
I had a lovely afternoon with Dancing GD and friend yesterday. I was a bit wary about the beach they wanted to walk along as the only way on and off is over high sand dunes. (OK going down, but a tough climb back up). But it was so lovely - the sound of the sea and the wind blowing through your hair is so rejuvenating somehow. Off beachwards again today, this time to St Andrews and the West Sands - a great expanse of open sands with no steep sand dunes to scale (!) and where part of "Chariots of Fire" was filmed many years ago . New Man and two of his sons are up here this week and the four teens are going sand surfing or sailing (or something). It's going to be quite windy, so ideal conditions. I love watching these activities - with no wish to take part!
I'm glad all the covid jabs went off uneventfully yesterday and there aren't too many sore arms across Britain ?
Have the best day all with lots of autumn sunshine and colour ????

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining in a watery sky.

No plans today other than meeting DH in a local cafe/bar for brunch after I’ve been to church. We’ve taken to doing that over the last couple of months.

I’m crocheting Christmas angels for our yarn bomb group now that we’ve made enough poppies to finish repairing the camouflage netting that they are tied onto. That gets draped over the perimeter walls of our ruined castle.

Lots of family gatherings happening today, enjoy every moment.

Best wishes to the poorly folk.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from breezy Carlisle. It's looking like we'll get another vicious shower or two like we did yesterday. Yesterday morning the clouds were so heavy as was the rain that it was pitch dark when I went out to Sainsburys.
Where customer numbers were very low, not surprisingly!
Had a restful afternoon reading the papers etc, the showers were too frequent to get anything done outside. The garden soil is saturated.
Today, I will hopefully finish my bulb planting and put a plant or two in, if not there's plenty to amuse me indoors.

Have the best possible day all.

Good morning from a sunny but very windy NE.
Slept a bit later this morning, I was really tired as the family didn't leave until 10.30 last night.
Both GDs spent their time here doing homework which meant they arrived with enormous bags and laptops.
Sister and BIL brought a big chocolate cake and we had that with champagne to celebrate her birthday.
SIL will come this afternoon and we will sort some bills out online and then we will have dinner together, tonight we are having duck.
Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny Co Armagh,
Mind you it was sunshine ans showers yesterday , mostly showers , wish I’d put the wash on earlier , now it can wait till tomorrow
Daughter is still trying to convince me I didn’t have Covid , I looked it up and the booster doesn’t give you a +ve covid test , why is she so adamant ?

Glorious autumn morning which lifts the spirits. Church to support the friend taking the lay-led service but nothing else planned. Distinct lack of oomph here - I need to learn from the good example of so many posters who shame my lack of effort. Thoughts with Baggs and all those facing enormous challenges.

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. I had a bad night, tossing and turning with a painful knee, and I feel exhausted.
So I am staying home while DH goes to Church. It is a shame as we have a visiting circuit minister who I like to hear, but can probably catch up with the recorded service later on.
I do get so tired out these days, but am hoping that our short break away at the end of the month will do me good.
Reading about all the family gatherings makes me happy, so enjoy them all.
Wishing one and all a peaceful, happy Sunday.

Good morning Mick and everyone. A cold cloudy morning in this corner of Lancashire.

There was a storm and some very heavy rain in the night which woke me up. Mr. B slept through it of course! So I’m sipping my tea while still in bed.

I have several pairs of older specs too Marydoll, I must check who is accepting them now. I use an independent optician who is well recommended for my particular VI. They used to accept old specs but stopped during Covid. I hope you enjoy your lunch and those men behave themselves.

Grandmabatty leek and potato soup and fruit crumble would be my ideal meal!

Thinking of Baggs and all with troubles.

I have procrastinated here so long that the sun has now appeared. I must get up and get on before it’s time for our usual Sunday brunch of bacon rolls.

Have a restful and peaceful Sunday, those who are seeing family and friends enjoy your day?

Good morning all from a cool and windy Scottish Borders.
I have HEAT! The plumber heating engineer was here until 8 pm trying to explain all the controls to this old brain
I tried to look intelligent.
He has an Isle of Lewis accent too which I struggle with.

I helped plant an orchard in our local park yesterday. It looks better already and when the blossom comes next spring and the fruit it will be beautiful.
They are heritage varieties - most are apples but a pear, a plum, a cherry and a cider apple too. We are going to have a wildflower meadow running through the trees.
The Orchard Trust are the providers.

I hope you all have a nice restful day.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful blue skied Hull.
It’s so lovely reading about all your doings today and family gatherings and tasty Sunday lunches.

Up late because our friends didn’t leave our house to walk home until 12.30am this morning. They enjoyed my dinner and a lot of wine was enjoyed. We were chatting about our holiday and talking about the holiday next year we are taking together. Discussing where to go.

Today we are going over to Bridlington to visit my uncle. It will be a nice surprise for him as he loves football chat with DH. We will get fish and chips before we come home.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. Hugs to those dealing with stress. ??

A late good morning from a wild, windy Durham. Was under the weather yesterday and found myself asleep several times. I didn’t go to bed until after 4am as I wasn’t at all tired.
All good this morning though. Meeting DD2 and little one at a Farm Cafe later - highland cows and donkeys apparently.
DF’s DH discharged from hospital last night - he’s very weak, so onwards and upwards now for him.
Best wishes for a good day.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 16-Oct-22 10:19:09

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Had a very bad night last night so will just watch church online.
Yesterday DGS had to show me the gold star he got from school for writing and maths, both which he enjoys. He’s still small for his age but has grown since I last saw him. His speech is still bad though.
Finally got to the art fair, learned some new techniques which I’d love to try. -watch this space!
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. Up late this morning as I had a bit of a lie-in to make up for yesterday's 6am start. Just watching a recorded women's rugby match (recorded overnight),.with a mug of tea and ginger.biscuits.

Flu jab went ok yesterday, and no sore arm today! Called in the village cafe afterwards for coffee, and sat reading my hook club read for.half an hour till the next bus. It is 'Sorrow and Bliss ', by Meg Mason, and I am enjoying it a lot more than the last book.

Live rugby yesterday afternoon, how we managed to win the match I shall never know; we tried our hardest to lose it! Came away with the narrowest of wins 32-31. Was a bitter wind and glad I had put my winter parka on.

Came home to a lovely hotpot - and then I managed to drop a whole bottle of red wine all over the kitchen floor; red wine and broken glass everywhere! Grabbed all the towels.from the utility room, mopped everything up and wearing rubber gloves sorted the broken glass. Put towels through two cold water rinse cycles, and now giving them a proper wash. Next job is to attack the kitchen work surfaces with bleach to remove the red wine stains.

Will probably spend this afternoon in the garden; I have a very dead ceanothus to remove and think I will rescue a rhododendron from its pot and plant it in the empty gap.

Take care everyone, and have a lovely Sunday.

Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast.
I have taken up a recovery position after dancing the night away with best friend in the city. Had a great night and bumped into one of my (many) cousins in the babylon. I’m pleased to take the exercise as I want to get to 36 24 36 ?.
Didn’t drink much, so no hangover but terrible cramp in the night. The cold weather doesn’t help it.
Thoughts to all with worries and I hope no more side effects for the jabbed.
