Good morning from a dry (so far!) Torbay.

My TV was brought yesterday morning as promised but didn’t work!! The lovely chap said it’s only the second time this has happened to him in 18 years! The supplier is just round the corner from where I live so he popped back to fetch a (non smart) TV for me to borrow until a replacement can be ordered. I doubt I’d have received that kind of offer from one of the ”big boys”!

Church this morning then to visit my good friend and ex-neighbour who has now settled in another flat nearby.

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday. ??✝️??

Good morning, still dark outside but no sound of rain.

I was wide awake before 5.00am and couldn’t get back to sleep so decided to get up rather than toss and turn in bed. I came downstairs, had a coffee and read my latest book. Thankfully nothing on the agenda today and now that I am half asleep, I’m off, back up to bed. Very lazy day ahead, busy doing nothing.

Have a pleasant day all. I will catch up with your news later. ??

Good morning from Oxfordshire, haven’t looked to see what the weather is doing yet.
MissOops dog jumped onto her bed in the night and landed on her bad leg, not a good way to wake up for any of us, some pills later and she is ok, we must put the walker against the bed in future, to keep the pooch away from bad leg.
Apart from that not a lot going on, everything on hold for at least couple of weeks, but I get out with the dog for her walks, so I am getting some exercise ( not much). What a nuisance Ash as you say good service from your local supplier.

Hope everyone has a good day, will check back later to read more posts.

grandMattie Sun 16-Oct-22 07:11:59

Good morning from a dawning, dry E Kent.
I took a sleeping pill last night which is why I am late. I took a couple of paracetamol before the jab, as suggested by Ash, then had a very quiet day.
Dl.’s friend came to give physio advice and exercised her for nearly two hours. We were both exhausted - but she was so good, giving a whole load of exercises and explanations as to what as being strengthened and why.
I have finished my knitted Joseph, done baby Jesus and well on the way with Mary - she looks most peculiar, being a seated figure.
Have a day full of blessings. Carpe diem ???

BlueBalou Sun 16-Oct-22 07:15:04

Good morning, it’s dry and clear-skied here in my corner of Wiltshire.
Just waiting for Asda delivery then DDog and I will go for a walk.
SIL and her DH coming for lunch, it’ll be nice to see them again.
I have a zoom ‘Patchwork for Beginners’ class later, should be fun!
I hope you all have a lovely day x

Gingster Sun 16-Oct-22 07:26:00

Good morning all and it’s dry and very still here in Essex.
I duly had my jabs yesterday afternoon. I was an hour early, but , no problem, straight in and out in under 5 minutes. Two sore arms but so far, so good!

DS2 is due at 8 o’clock for his ‘full Monty’ breakfast. It will be lovely to catch-up with all his news. He went out last night with his brother and all their old pals. Stayed at a friends house and after breakfast will be heading off home to Hertfordshire.

I must read my ‘book club’ book today as the meeting is on Friday and my week is looking busy. I’ve started and it’s looking good.

Roast chicken for dinner and a relaxing day ?.

Little DGD went to her pumpkin picking day and had a great time. Crafts, pumpkins galore, and meeting the animals on the farm.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone ?

brook2704 Sun 16-Oct-22 07:26:21

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark and I heard it raining earlier
That’s frustrating Ash but good that they found a temporary replacement TV for you.
gMattie I’m impressed as always with your many talents!
I’m up early as we’re off to Edinburgh soon to meet up with DS and his partner who are over from Switzerland for the weekend. It’ll be a lot better than our usual Sunday morning FaceTime call. We’re meeting up for a late Sunday lunch and a glass or two of wine I expect. We’re coming home tomorrow so we can have a nice relaxing afternoon and evening
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 16-Oct-22 07:26:26

Morning all

I can just see the sky turning pinky orange we’re the sun is rising, no idea what the weather is meant to be today. No idea what we are going to be doing either, apart from roast pork this evening.

Wishing you all a serene Sunday ?‍♀️?

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 16-Oct-22 07:27:46

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I can hear my granddaughter so I guess it won’t be long before we’re all up! They are going to a nearby folly this morning but OH will still be in bed and I’ll be finishing off a batch of lemon ice cream which granddaughter will help me with. We’re having a monster leg of lamb for lunch so that has to be sorted too. I told granddaughter she can pick the Rosemary from our new herb garden. When they’ve all gone back to London I have some WI admin to do. Also, it is our neighbour’s funeral tomorrow so need to sort out what to wear. The family are asking for us to wear something brightly coloured. Have a good Sunday everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 16-Oct-22 07:55:18

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone (including Joseph) from south Manchester where it’s dry with a pale pink sky coming up behind the Pennines.

We have a busy couple of hours later emptying everything from our bedroom and bathroom into this room as the decorator is coming to do them when we are away. Mind you, easy street later, as yesterday we booked a table in a new place up the road for a Sunday roast this afternoon. Thought we’d give it a whirl as they only opened on Wednesday.

I’ve loaded our book club read on my Kindle ready for our meeting next month when I’m back. It’s ‘Burnt Sugar’ by Avni Doshi, a new author for me. (Which is why I love book club!). What are you reading that you’re enjoying?

Enjoy Sunday all who can.
I had a dream last night about a new baby. He was very heavy when I held him so I passed him over for Himself to carry. My tiny superstitious mind hopes this dream doesn’t herald the news of a death. Silly I know, how it’s unsettled me.

Urmstongran Sun 16-Oct-22 07:56:29

That was meant for Gingster.
Love the pumpkins btw!

ginny Sun 16-Oct-22 08:04:03

Good morning everyone.Fairly bright and dry here in N. Bucks.
DD2 is coming for Sunday lunch. A treat as we have a nice piece of beef to roast. Yorkies too.
Maybe a gentle stroll and then carry on with the decorations for the C****** tree festival.
Hope Sunday is a good one for all.

dragonfly46 Sun 16-Oct-22 08:06:55

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Flu jab went well yesterday with no I’ll effects.
Walking with a friend today which often means picking up a coffee and sitting in the park.

Wishing everyone a good day.

karmalady Sun 16-Oct-22 08:09:03

good morning from s somerset. The sun is peeping out and I slept later today

Covid jab yesterday and so far so good, I took two paracetamol last night, so my arm did not bother me

I am going to tidy one small drawer in my bedroom today, need to get rid of ood `just in case` medications. Other than that I am just relaxing with knitting today, need to give this body time for the vax to work.

I bought some heavy compost from my local hardware/garden centre, on the way back and they will remain in my car until I am ready this week. I love the old style service here, they do all the lifting into my car

cornergran Sun 16-Oct-22 08:11:26

Morning Mick, morning All. They sky is clearing over our corner of Somerset.

Pleased I ‘encouraged’ myself to go to the volunteer meeting yesterday, it was good to meet others who are new to the work. Mr C ‘encouraged’ a shopping trip in the afternoon. Pleased as I found the coat I’d been searching for, less pleased at having to constantly find a seat when exhaustion hit.

Quiet one today. Roast beef later, some computer time as I’m so behind with emails to friends who will think I’ve disappeared.

I’m pleased I never remember my dreams urms, not unsettled in the way you have been. What a shame about the tv ash, excellent service from your supplier though. I would think your DL was exhausted after that input grandmattie if fortunate to have the informed advice. Your Joseph has reminded me of the knitted figures and small toys my Mum produced. She was an inveterate user upper of left over wool and produced an unending supply of little things for our children, usually without a pattern. Sadly I left it to her, now I wish I’d taken the time to learn from her.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Not a cloud in the sky. Up to 17° later. I'm just about to get some washing on the line and get to the bottom of the ironing basket. The last of the summer clothes are finally hung in the spare room wardrobe.
I still have a sore arm after my Covid jab on Friday but haven't felt ill.
Off out for a walk later as I'm determined to keep my steps up. I feel so much better for it.
Love to all ?x

monk08 Sun 16-Oct-22 08:20:49

Good morning all from a bright and sunny Black country.
Washing on I do like to make the most of these nice days.
No plans today just a quick trip to local shops.
Roast pork later for dinner.
Best wishes anyone celebrating safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Sunday and may you all find some ?.

Gingster Sun 16-Oct-22 08:21:16

Urms I’ve just finished Patrick Gayles ‘Notes from an exhibition. Ok but not as good as his other books IMO.
Just started ‘Change of Circumstance’ by Susan Hill. I think I will enjoy this one.
Some ‘book club’ books are awful and I wonder why I’m wasting my time but I look on it as a challenge and it makes you read books you otherwise wouldn’t bother with.
Happy reading ?

Marydoll Sun 16-Oct-22 08:27:32

Good morning all from a wet and windy Glasgow.

I had a lovely relaxing day yesterday, but felt guilty doing nothing! I couldn't settle.
My only task was to collect all our old spectacles, to donate at Specsavers on Tuesday. Eight pairs were mine and only two DHs. The pandemic meant no-one would accept them.
There were some lovely designer ones, from the days DIL1 had a massive discount and I indulged myself. Now it's Specsavers for me! ?

We have a family lunch today in a local restaurant today, a treat from DH and I. Our family haven't sat together at the same table, since before the pandemic.
I'm looking forward to it, but a little apprehensive, as there has been a some tension between my two boys, since the upset over DDs pandemic wedding in our garden.
DD has offered to be our chauffeur, to give me a break from driving, as my hip and leg are painful. I don't like being a passenger, but will go with the flow!
Although having a cornucopia of clothes, I'm agonising about what to wear, because I am so cold all the time. Third world problem.?

I wish you all a pleasant day and hope Miss Oops suffers no ill effects from the doggy episode.
Have a good Sunday everyone!

Greyduster Sun 16-Oct-22 08:31:18

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in a clear blue South Yorkshire sky and it’s chilly. Had a nice lunch in the Peak District yesterday with DD and her menfolk. They had walked over and said it was very breezy on the tops and rough underfoot - I can’t do it anymore, not at the moment anyway. I went in the car.
Not much on today until teatime when I am going to DD’s for an overnight as I have a hospital appointment tomorrow and their house is closer than mine.
Hope Sunday is kind to one and all.

Wyllow3 Sun 16-Oct-22 08:40:11

Good Morning under another deep blue S Yorks sky and a brisk wind.

Quakers and hopefully a little stroll in that sun

May family meets go as well as they can!
And poorlies have as best a day as possible

Jacs7 Sun 16-Oct-22 08:43:40

Good morning everyone from a dry and mild north Kent. The washing machine is whirring and hopefully will be able to line-dry its contents.

Some more gardening planned; I always enjoy getting it ready for its winter sleep. Still quite a few flowers in bloom, particularly the dahlias. Have planted some daffs and tulip bulbs and started the annual battle with the squirrels to stop them digging them up for a quick snack!

DD and family here for a roast dinner later. Will be good to see them and catch up on their doings. DGS2 is going horse riding today for the first time; think he has visions of galloping across open countryside so he might be a little disappointed to find himself being led round on a leading rein!

Hope everyone who can has a good Sunday

Jaxjacky Sun 16-Oct-22 08:44:22

Morning all from a bright and sunny S Hants. We had a lovely, long lunch here yesterday with children and grandchildren, 3 and a half hours of chatter. We’re seeing them all again later, a local village has a scarecrow trail, with stalls, raffle and refreshments. Chicken for our dinner later.
Enjoy your day all ??

Grandmabatty Sun 16-Oct-22 08:50:51

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and breezy. There are blue skies with some cloud.
Such a pity about your tv Ash. At least you have a temporary one. Grandmattie I'm glad you got a nativity pattern. Mum was not forthcoming with her's at all. Marydoll enjoy your family meal and Brook have a lovely time with your son and his partner.
Yesterday I got all the washings and other housework done. I went to Aldi and picked up food for the week. I stayed away from the middle aisle but did pick up three mini pumpkins. I'll use them for soup after Halloween.
Today I'm making leek and potato soup, a slow cooker pot of bolognaise and a fruit crumble. Some of the bolognaise will become chilli for dinner. Have a good day all.
