Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Had to dash over to Mums yesterday afternoon, as she texted to say her new NHS hearing aids had failed. In my experience that rarely happens that 2 fail at the same time. Turns out she had the batteries in the round way round! How she managed that I cannot imagine. We went a walk down the Staffs railway walk and had a mooch around the charity shop in Compton. I came away with an Eastex Winter coat that looked brand new and never worn, for £7.99. So my unexpected journey over was meant to be smile

Today I am meeting a friend for afternoon tea at a garden centre cafe. Its all go here!

MrJ like Portugal so much that last night he booked a week away there next May, so something to look forward to after what promises to be a dire Winter.

Wishing you all a peaceful and calm day

FYI. DL was told very firmly that she had only 2 months here, then she was out.
Lots of strict rules like I’m not taking her anywhere, not to a coffee shop or any appointments.
The feeding and watering is my (sadly) innate good manners for hospitality…

Good morning from a dry NE, for the time being anyway.
Yesterday my neighbour called and brought me a box of chocolates as a thank you for overseeing the workmen when there was an emergency with the power supply.
I have had two bad nights in a row, sleeping badly and having nightmares. I have woken myself up screaming. This is how stress manifests itself for me.
Got all the washing and ironing done yesterday so just gentle housework today.
Got a message from my sister late last night to say that she had fallen over and thinks she has broken a finger. How easily accidents happen, she just got up to switch a light on.
Thoughts are with poorly people and those that are caring for others.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton; should be good for our group walk this afternoon.

A full yoga class yesterday morning and some much needed stretching, but try as I can, I just cannot do downward-facing-dog! However, our teacher has an easier alternative pose that I can do instead. I do miss our coffee afterwards; both cafes in the area are closed; one never opens on a Monday, and the other has shut completely.

Spent the afternoon in the garden again, finishing off the grass edging, and then pruning back an unruly buddleia. I also put my heavier winter parkas in the washing machine, and they dried beautifully in the warm sunshine.

I also gave in to temptation and ordered a nice full length padded coat for the colder weather; 15% off too! Been looking for a red one for ages, wanting a more cheerful colour for darker days; this one's colour is advertised as red wine.......

After gardening spent an hour on my book, and then followed that by knitting whilst watching tv after dinner.

Take care everyone, and have a pleasant Tuesday.

8Harri*, it's horrible feeling, having those dreams. A similar thing happens to me, when I'm worrying about something. It leaves you out of sorts all day. ?

Lovely to see you posting, MOMB. Safe journey home.

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Essex by the sea.

We are having our boiler serviced this morning, no other plans for today.

DGD2, aged 13, has been ill a lot over the last couple of years and had a series of blood tests last week. These show her Folate levels are very low and she has been put on medication to try and raise them. Her diet is pretty good, for a teenager, so we are hoping that this helps.

Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone, much love xxx

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° with blue skies. I have dgs1 cuddled up beside me on the couch. I'm about to make pancakes and then we might go out somewhere. I hope everyone has a good day

Hoping that the driveway fairies will finish the job today so that the car can return from its little holiday on my kind neighbour’s drive and various bins can emerge from the garage and be restored to their normal homes.

Supermarket this morning, craft this afternoon and WI this evening so a busy day. Will need a rest tomorrow.

Lots of people needing supportive thoughts today, especially Mick and dear kind grandMattie.

Good morning all and it’s another lovely bright one here in Essex. This autumn has been glorious.

Yesterday I ached from head to toe (jabs) but feeling better today, ?. Slept well too!

Lots of family concerns and worries at the moment which need a lot of thought . We all go through these times don’t we !

GM take care of yourself. You’re doing a great job and you are an amazing friend.

Urms glad you’re safely back in your ‘happy place’. Enjoy every second.

Stillearning that sounds a lovely place to be. Are you staying for long?

Hoping all your days are ‘good’ ones ?

EkwaNimitee Tue 18-Oct-22 09:16:32

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where, thankfully, the wind of yesterday has gone.

I hope all goes well with your appointments Mick so you can get your op soon and be sorted.

I had a not good night, waking up with vicious heartburn and then a migraine and ended up sleeping propped up on a pile of pillows. I need to take a hard look at my diet, I've been pushing my luck with certain items recently. I don't want to go back onto the omeprazole.
Today, a gentle plod through housework plus a bit of online retail therapy. And I ought to get round to booking that flu jab. It would also be good to get out for a stroll as it seems all is downhill tomorrow weather-wise.

Have a good day all.

Good morning all from a very sunny W Kent. Back in one piece from visit to DD1 and managed to see all three grandsons and enjoy the scenery around Perth. Door to door by train seven hours not bad at all.
Lovely to hear your news * Marydoll* and catch up with all the goings on.
Best wishes to all.

Georgesgran Tue 18-Oct-22 09:45:44

Just a quick good morning from me, from a bright still Durham.
Thank you GNs for the good wishes following my DGS2’s visit to A&E on Sunday night. Last night, his mummy, DD2 was admitted to the same hospital with some sort of septic infection. As a paraplegic, she has little feeling in her lower limbs, so by the time she felt very poorly and realized what was going o, her foot and leg were doubled in size. Her temperature so high she was shivering and shaking to the point where we could hear her teeth rattling! Anyway, she managed to get a bed by 3.20am but has had little sleep on half hourly obs.
It never rains, does it??

Best wishes to all.

Good morning Mick and everyone. A cold sunny morning in this corner of Lancashire.

The anaesthetist will wire you up Mick and also test your breathing. Don’t worry too much, I was weak and very anaemic but judged fit enough for surgery. My biggest problem was getting on and off the bike!

My friend’s death on Sunday has really shaken me and I have resolved to make the most of my days. We supported each other through the early years of brain injury rehab and kept in touch and I feel I owe it to him. Yesterday I went for a walk across the bridge to admire the beautiful Autumnal trees and berries. It’s my first outing on my own for many weeks. Today I plan to do the same. I must get some laundry done too.

I hope your visitor is able to go to her new home soon GrandMattie, you have been an absolute saint taking this on. The crib figures are beautiful.

Lovely to hear from you momb, safe travels. Hello there Urms, have a good day.

Thinking of Baggs and all with troubles.

Have the best day you can all ?

Taichinan Tue 18-Oct-22 09:50:59

Good morning all. It's another glorious day on the Angus coast - the kind when you realise just why you live where you do! The first load of washing is on the line and it felt amazingly warm in the sunshine.
I had the lazy day I awarded myself yesterday but still don't feel recovered from all the fun times I've had of late - but I don't regret them one bit! I must take a parcel to the PO later and get a piece of fish for my dinner, but other than that I shall just enjoy this beautiful day.
Enjoy yours, everyone x

hollysteers Tue 18-Oct-22 09:51:15

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice coach day trip yesterday, sunny too. The downside was that we were given two hours in the smallest town and one hour in the largest. Completely the wrong way round as there was much of interest in the latter.
It’s about time I had a day at home, I look as if I have been burgled and out at 12 to set up the music club and sin, (haven’t decided…). I’m feeling tired but like gadding about whilst I can.
Hope your medical plans all
go smoothly Mick and I’m afraid your DL would be too much for me”GM*

hollysteers Tue 18-Oct-22 09:51:45

Very late posting but have been up since before the crack of dawn. I'm now working at home 3 days and in the office for 2, today is a home day but I'm very busy.
There seem to be a lot of family worries and troubles eirh GNs, we all have them don't we. Feel a bit weighed down with problems in the family at the moment, dare say they will get sorted.
A foggy day still here in Oxfordshire, can't see over the fields yet.
I hope you all find some sunshine.

Blossoming Tue 18-Oct-22 11:28:31

I was just thinking the music club sounded rather racy Hollysteers grin

Borrheid55 Tue 18-Oct-22 13:01:49

Marydoll you’re right! Who was it? I spoke to my mum on Sunday and she didn’t mention any ‘hatches, matches or despatches!’ We did talk about your mutual hairdressers- one of the lovely ladies comes across to 55 and escorts her . They are so kind. Thursday 15:30 is her slot! Lovely day here in Kent . Waiting for a phone call from doctor re my continuing dizziness and tremor. MRI was normal but I have ‘Bilateral Vestibular Hypofunction’ which appears to be getting worse. Had another episode in Waitrose on Saturday, had to sit in the cafe while DH finished the shopping.
I don’t post very often but I do lurk every day!
Have a good day to all!

Marydoll Tue 18-Oct-22 13:40:22

Borrheid, her first name is Helen. She went about with the now famous professor's very tall cousin, A-M! Any help?
