Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but looking dry outside this morning in brackley .
Today , a little bit more housework before I get the bus to Bicester for my usual routine there, since the iron infusion I have been trying to walk for a good distance without stopping and siting down , the breathlessness seems to have gone .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Good to hear you’re feeling chipper, Mick. Go steady. A pretty sunrise this morning in South Yorkshire and promise of a decent dry day. Depending on how I feel later, I may clean the car. If I don’t feel up to tackling the outside I’ll do the inside. Hopefully before too much longer I should be cleaning a smaller more manageable vehicle. At the moment, my present one sits in the drive sniffing “How could you!” with tears rolling down its headlights. I made a curry yesterday which I will portion up for the freezer. It wasn’t the best curry I’ve ever made but it will serve to fill a hole.
Welcome Elizabeth7!
Have the best day you can folks!

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. It’s my LWW afternoon today. Beforehand I have a hair appointment. My hairdresser here was surprised last week how much it had grown, so today’s appointment is for a cut.

We ate in last night after an afternoon of happy wandering so tonight we shall eat out at the tapas bar downstairs. I do ❤️ Tuesdays!

Good morning everyone. Pleased you are feeling a bit better Mick.welcome Elizabeth . I have found everyone very pleasant and helpful on this site. It is lovely to be able to come on here whether you are hopping mad, or sad or very happy. When we live alone or dont get to see many people this is a great community to belong to . So here today it is just starting to lighten up and fingers crossed looks dry and colder. I am sat surrounded by chaos at present as all plans changed . Havent been well, and my back has caused most everyday problems when I have found it difficult to do anything more than the basics. I live in North Yorkshire and my son lives in the Fylde area with his family. . We used to sometimes meet up on a halfway basis, such as Kirby Lonsdale or Sedberg but of course with covid etc we have not been able to do lots of things. I had hoped to go across to stay but things did not match up. But yesterday he rang and said things had changed again and they would be at home. I have a close friend who was a lecturer in German at Chorley college where I taught TEFL, so all of a sudden I am now going over this morning. I get very annoyed at the way commercial things spoil anticipation, and I do not do any christmas stuff until after Bonfire night etc , but as I am going to be seeing them and can take presents in person, dont need to think of parcel costs and breakages so yesterday pm was rushing about getting various things. Day before had done washing and hung it out when we got the deluge and the washing came in wetter than it went out, so had to stick it out again yesterday and of course all the things I want to have with me are in the pile waiting to be ironed. Oh well who cares. I get to see my family and friends. I dont know if any of you are interested in make up or buy much , but did you know that Boots have what they call their no 7 beauty advent calendar. It is £49.50, can only be bought online but you can have it delivered or do clic and collect locally. They say it contains £200 worth of things, even Martin Lewis reckoned it is about £180 worth . So for the first time I decided to buy one for myself this year, and being yorkshire , thought anything that I dont use can be little stocking fillers , so as a gardener dont do nail varnish etc. Well had a better idea and go to a womens group and suggested that if anyone was getting this or had new makeup that they had never used we might donate these items to make up a raffle prize and the money will go to our charity. That way we all gain. So look up Boots if you are interested, they go quickly. anyway total change now as box unopened so my daughter in law will be having this for a gift and think she will enjoy it. So have various presents, a bottle of wine for them and one for my friend, books and toys to be hidden for Joshua for christmas but have a couple of fun things for him. I used to get those little gliders that were very cheap for my son and keep one in the glove compartment in case we were stuck somewhere. So found a couple of those, a spinning top and some marbles, with good colours and what we called a glass alley - a bigger one. Dont think he has played marbles, these days they are more into ipad stuff, but we might have a go. So presents, clothes from sunglasses to mac and walking boots , my laptop and some music I am learning etc etc, but as I did not know about this in advance will be taking salad stuff and veg from the fridge so just about everything but the kitchen sink I reckon. Of course will have my fresh coffee, china mug etc for my journey and my quick go to meal deal from tesco so I shall stop up in the hills somewhere and enjoy my picnic and get the binoculars out and enjoy the lovely autumn colours. Have my fold up chair and fingers crossed it will be dry and I can sit out and enjoy the view. If it rains it will be inside the car with radio 3. Ah well , one good thing travelling on your own, listen to what you want, choose your route, stop when you like. So wishing you all a good week and hope some of you are also able to see grandchildren. By the way there is partial eclipse of the sun today from 10 am, so if you see this in time you might get to see it.
Well todays pm is Rishi Sunac, wonder if he will still be there by the time I get back!! Have a happy day everyone

Greyduster Tue 25-Oct-22 08:04:23

Sorry Grandmachristie, I missed your post. Welcome to GN. Always good to see new folks!

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 25-Oct-22 08:05:24

Morning all from West Oxfordshire to all posters, both old and new. I will finish off the C cake this morning, the dry fruit had been soaking overnight in rum. I might do some other baking too. During the lockdowns my freezers were heaving with baked goods. I have a stash of ironing to do as well. Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Tue 25-Oct-22 08:06:17

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Welcome to all our newbies ?
Hairdressers this morning, then I need to do a trip to sainsburys, not somewhere I go very often but they have something I need.
Ash I hope your isolation isn't to boring and you find plenty of online activities along with your new TV to entertain you.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

brook2704 Tue 25-Oct-22 08:16:42

Urmstongran Tue 25-Oct-22 08:16:50

? to you Elizabeth7! I have to say I’ve never heard or ever read the word ‘respair’. I’m not sure it’ll catch on for everyday use. We’ll have to see!
?

Ashcombe Tue 25-Oct-22 08:16:54

Thank you for all your kind wishes to help me with this time alone. Yes, Gingster, walking would be possible - I’m surrounded by parks plus the Downs. monk08: Indeed, I’m very glad to have had my new (smart) TV installed just in time!

Wyllow3: I’m sure you’ll find the counselling helpful. Asking for help is the first step on your journey and I wish you well. You always sound so positive in your posts. Keep smiling! ?

Kalu Tue 25-Oct-22 08:17:33

Good morning all from Glasgow. Sunrise appearing with shades of pink! Very pretty but not a good sign. ?

DD1 and her friend who were huge Robbie Williams fans treated themselves and their DDs x 2 each to his concert last night. I will be visiting later with cake to hear their verdict. ?/?. Pilates early afternoon.
Another busy week until Friday when I can enjoy a day to myself, back to my favourite pastime of foutering.

A warm welcome to you Elizabeth7. Enjoy your time on GN, it can become quite addictive.
Georgesgran. Hoping your DD and your DGC are showing signs of improvement today and arrangements are in place to check baby over. Sorry, I have forgotten whether your GC is a boy or a girl.

Best wishes to all for a good day whatever your plans are.

kittylester Tue 25-Oct-22 08:23:15

Good morning all from a greyish, drippy North Leicestershire.

Welcome all newbies - please tell us where you are and how the weather is looking as well as your news.

DD1's final chemo today!! It has been a long journey for her, and the rest of us, but we are nearly there now.

Have as good a day as you all can.

Kalu Tue 25-Oct-22 08:33:08

DD2 FaceTimed halfway through my post which I started at 8.45!

A warm welcome to you too Grandmachrissy
I hope your counselling is helpful for you Wyllow What a horrible time you must have gone through. A tough decision but well done walking away from an abusive relationship.
Stay strong and look after yourself. ?

ShazzaKanazza Tue 25-Oct-22 08:35:13

Hi again.
Kitty very best wishes to your DD for her final chemo today ? hope she goes from strength to strength in the coming months.

Wyllow hope your first zoom counselling goes well. I’m sorry you had to undergo such trauma?

Safe journey madeleine hope your friends and family appreciate your thoughtful gifts.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and a fairly blue sky above. Welcome to all the new posters to Mick's Good Morning thread. It is a community of lovely people.
Yesterday I dropped dgs1 off at his nursery. He's such a sociable wee boy, shouting hello to lots of others while waiting to go in. I gardened for a while yesterday and began winter tidying. My hands became painful though so I stopped after half an hour. Arthritis has developed in my right hand which is very annoying but one of the (many) benefits of getting older I suppose.
Today I have an art workshop all afternoon on still life which I'm very much looking forward to. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is beautifully streaked with pink and gold. The ground is wet though and there’s probably rain on the way.

Great to hear that you’re feeling more like yourself Mick.

Welcome all the new posters to this lovely thread.

My day at work went really well yesterday, I felt I’d actually been of some use rather than just being a visitor. Some of our regular customers have been very kind and seem pleased to see me back.

Today though I’ll have a quieter day. I’m taking a break from poppies and angels and have made a start on some pumpkins which will decorate my kitchen windowsill.

Sending good thoughts to everyone who has difficulties in their lives, whether that be illness or worries.

May your day be peaceful.

Sar53 Tue 25-Oct-22 08:46:24

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.

Welcome to all new posters, lovely to see you here.

I'm off to have my hair cut shortly then a morning of admin at the computer.

We both slept very well last night after our disruptive night on Sunday.

Have a lovely day everyone and kind thoughts to all who are poorly or troubled xxx

Urmstongran Tue 25-Oct-22 08:46:56

What a lovely newsy post from you madeleine45! I feel as though I’m coming with you it was so detailed! I hope you have a wonderful time meeting up with your family and friends. Your journey and picnic stop sound delightful. I hope you’ve put some extra pressure in your car tyres!

BlueSapphire Tue 25-Oct-22 08:52:04

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton; bodes well for our health walk this afternoon.

Had a good day in Milton Keynes yesterday, under cover all day so avoiding any rain. Returned my too big cardigan to the shop, but sadly they did not have the size I wanted, so bought a dress in the sale instead! I do love that particular store and never come out empty-handed..... Then to M&S where I spent my voucher on a new jumper and some body butter. Also managed to spend a Waterstones voucher on new books for book club.

A morning of pottering, hanging out the washing, then a health walk after lunch.

Welcome to our new posters, and wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

Pittcity Tue 25-Oct-22 08:52:54

Good morning from a bright, dry Colchester. Warming up to 17° again today. I have layers on ready to remove and replace.
Volunteering in charity shop as it's Tuesday. We've had another change of management ( nearly as frequent as the government!) and so I expect things will have changed since last week. It gets me out of the house!!
Welcome to the newbies and love to all ?x

EkwaNimitee Tue 25-Oct-22 08:58:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from a mostly cloudy Carlisle, and welcome to you both GrandmaChrisy and Elizabeth7.
I was out in the garden yesterday afternoon, planting a pyracantha followed by an exploration dig of the back corner of the garden underlain by impermeable clay. The hole I'd dug previously was full of water so I dug a channel towards better drained parts to see if it would get away. I do love my civil engineering projects but I could do without this especially as I now have to be careful not to exert myself overly. I've yet to get out and see the results. My options are eventually a raised bed, a pond or a bog garden, I much prefer the first as it's a far corner. Nothing will survive planted straight into the ground.
This morning is some housework and laundry then I will see what I fancy getting up to.

I hope you don't get cabin fever Ashcombe but I think you can get out walking?

Good luck with the counselling Wyllow, onwards and upwards now!

And wishing you all a good day.

Jaxjacky Tue 25-Oct-22 09:05:05

I too seem to have missed Grandmachristie welcome to you and madeleine.
Fingers crossed for the online session Wyllow I’ve been through different sessions the same way during lockdown which really helped me.
Good news kitty.

Good morning Mick and all. It's a golden morning on the Angus coast - very welcome after all the recent mist and fog. Yesterday when I saw the mist disperse and the sun emerge I rushed to put a wash on - only to see the clouds building again. It's still hanging limply indoors, so the first job this morning will be to hang it outside. Oh be still my beating heart, such excitement isn't good!
Welcome to so many newbies today. It's a lovely thread - and so nice when you're alone to have someone to 'chat' to first thing in the morning. Willow good for you for moving on - you must have had such a hard time, particularly through lockdown. You're a brave and strong lady and the good times now lie ahead.
Welcome to Elizabeth 7 and Grandmachrisy. And to you Madeleine - enjoy your trip.
Such a lot of news today! So glad your feeling so much better Mick, and I trust now that all will go well for your DD kittylester ?
I didn't realise Suzie Dent had a life outside Dictionary Corner! That must have been really interesting to see her - although like you Urms I can't see me using the word 'respair'.
Grandmattie I have my fingers crossed that DL's purchase of the apartment across the river goes ahead - you have been so good through all the traumas and visitors ?
Have a good day everybody x

Good morning all from a bright W Kent and welcome to Elizabeth and Grandmachristie. Good wishes for your online session Wyllow.
Not sure what happening today but will start with the washing of the blinds and see where I end up.
Good wishes to all.
