This is what Biden called Sunak today.
Yesterday he couldn’t determine the rehearsed way out of a White House garden and had to be helped out by an aide.

This man.

The most powerful man in the world? What a joke - he is a senile buffoon. At 79y it’s embarrassing to witness. His facial plastic surgery helps him to look younger but it’s all a facade.

I think Dr Jill Biden (his wife) ought to guide him away from politics now.
What do you think? Is it time he enjoyed some rest and retirement?

Prentice Tue 25-Oct-22 20:29:09

It is certainly a concern Urmstongran
I hope the US can find younger candidates to put up in their next election, they do seem to be quite old for such powerful and demanding jobs.

GagaJo Tue 25-Oct-22 20:30:33

Poor bloke. Remember Reagan, called Princess Diana, Princess David?

Ginny42 Tue 25-Oct-22 20:32:48

I'm very cautious of criticising another nation's politicians after recent events in the UK. Of course, here he could just transfer to the House of Lords and sleep the days away.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Oct-22 20:36:34

Definitely a worry, VP Harris seems to be keeping an exceptionally low profile.

There was a well publicised press conference a few weeks ago whereby he was asking if a female senator was in the audience… she was dead.

Shall we also have a go at the young woman who came on after Biden and also got Sunak's name wrong?

No?

Thought not.

RichmondPark1 Tue 25-Oct-22 20:42:17

To be fair, the rate we change prime ministers you could forgive a foreign leader for not bothering to learn their names.

JenniferEccles Tue 25-Oct-22 22:41:34

I agree. He does seem to be in a steady decline, both mentally and physically.

Watching him on the news earlier, slowly shuffling over to the microphone, it was hard to believe that I was looking at a man who arguably holds the most powerful job in the world.
Richi Sunak’s name is not that difficult to pronounce, but Sleepy Joe managed to fluff it.

Hithere Tue 25-Oct-22 22:48:22

As if the UK has a stellar and role model track of prime ministers

As for Biden, it was him ot Trump - easy choice there

Biden may be what you want to call him, he is not a mentally ill individual who is a threat to himself and the world

grin For a split second ( and I haven’t had access to a tv today so have relied on gransnet to keep me informed on world events) I thought maybe we had another new PM.

Whoops, so did you - it’s Rishi.

Unbelievable in a country with a population of C260million adults!

Calendargirl Wed 26-Oct-22 06:56:25

How much longer until the next US election?

He will be much worse by then.

He is past it, there’s no getting away from it.

Kandinsky Wed 26-Oct-22 07:31:14

I cringe every time he comes on TV ( which isn’t often - unsurprisingly )
He’s too old to be running one of the most powerful countries in the world. And he should know how to pronounce the prime minister’s name, he’s the president not a member of the back room staff.

TerriBull Wed 26-Oct-22 07:34:21

It was hard to get one's head around a nation with something in the order of three hundred and fifty million people came up with those two as their presidential candidates shock

TerriBull Wed 26-Oct-22 07:36:05

Oh Callistemon I see you had the same thoughts.

Iam64 Wed 26-Oct-22 07:36:05

It’s a curiosity that the Democrats couldn’t find a younger presidential candidate.

But - if it’s a choice between an elderly democrat or a psychologically damaged and dangerous man like Trump, it’s no contest. Biden every time

I've always thought the same.

Urmstongran Wed 26-Oct-22 08:13:42

Trump aside, I wonder what the Democrat voters think of wooden Biden? He makes so many gaffes. The two I mentioned yesterday were just this week’s offerings.

Aldom Wed 26-Oct-22 08:52:42

I agree Joe Biden is past it. But I don't like the name calling. It's unkind when the man is clearly in failing health.

Yammy Wed 26-Oct-22 09:11:50

Well said Aldom what choice did the US have and if they force him out of office would there be another presidential election and Trump is ready to jump.
What worries me is that the Chinese and Russians are watching and see what were the Western super powers slowly imploding.

Oldnproud Wed 26-Oct-22 09:17:29

Not being able to read/say Sunak's name was just the latest indication of how incapable Bidon now is.

There is nothing complicated about the name - it's pretty much pronounced as it's written! As they say on Catch Phrase, "Just say what you see!"
Yet Bidon couldn't even get the vowels right!

I fear for the US. It is a very fractured country, where things could turn nasty very quickly.
They desperately need a leader who is strong, capable and compus mentis to hold things together. Instead, their wealth-driven political system resulted in first a dangerous, power-crazy, deluded egotistical madman as President, then a doddery old man who even when elected was clearly no longer either physically or mentally up to the job.
It would be funny if it wasn't so serious!

volver Wed 26-Oct-22 09:22:09

And to paraphrase Casdon, neither can you.

henetha Wed 26-Oct-22 09:37:28

Biden has said he won't run again, so I hope he sticks to that. So let's hope the Democrats can find a decent candidate soon in plenty of time for the next Presidential election, which I think is 2024.
I agree that Biden is too old for the job, and it shows. But he is a decent man, - not perfect, - but the polar opposite of the likes of Trump. thank goodness.
