Downing Street lecturns

Have just read that all Prime ministers have their own lecturn for those Downing Street speeches. How ridiculous.
Why can't there just be a standard one???? It's not as if the design will make the bad news (it's usually bad) any better. Just seen a picture of Liz Truss's twisted base lecturn. Mind you that does reflect the way she has had to turn her policies round. Maybe there is a point to themhmm

Is it because PMs don’t come in a standard height? You’d think adjustable lecterns would be available, though.

Gordon Brown had a very functional looking one.
I bet that could be adjusted.

Sunak is currently using an older lectern as there hasn’t been enough time to design and make him a new one
