Do you wear a pinny?

I only wear an apron on one day of the year, on Christmas Day when I am dressed ready to greet my guests.

I do all my food preparations in my casual clobber in the morning, then shower , make-up, hair and dress.

Pinny then donned to protect me until I sit to the table.

Always. You should see the mess I make when I’m baking!

I seem to live in my pinny, if i can't find keys, phone or lighter ( for the candles) they will be in my pinny pockets

Grannybags Sat 29-Oct-22 21:07:36

No never, but I should do. I get covered in stuff!!

Nana3 Sat 29-Oct-22 21:13:14

Yes, I have quite a few. I think it's more hygienic as well as protecting your clothes.

No, never!

Jaxjacky Sat 29-Oct-22 21:15:51

No, never have done.

Always when cooking. It's too difficult trying to get greasy marks out of clothing.

GrandmaKT Sat 29-Oct-22 21:24:21

Yes, I always seem to make a mess. The GC think it's hilarious!

When I'm cooking I do and, if it's just us and no guests, I keep it on to eat so that I don't spill food on my clothes! I felt so uncomfortable cooking without one when in the motorcaravan that I have to keep one in there!

Usually only on Christmas Day like you, OP, but I really should wear them more often (as some grease stains on favourite jumpers over the years prove).

I don't possess one so no.

MaizieD Sat 29-Oct-22 21:59:40

A what? wink

Redhead56 Sat 29-Oct-22 22:24:02

I wear one only when baking I don't like flour on my clothes.

MawtheMerrier Sat 29-Oct-22 22:27:37

Apron or pinafore (the sort that covers your top half as well) hence “pinny”

mrsgreenfingers56 Sat 29-Oct-22 22:29:34

Yes, I do when baking and cooking, especially baking. Saves your clothes with flour and grease.

Always, we have a selection as they get very messy so need regular washing.

Nanagem Sat 29-Oct-22 22:52:53

If you saw the mess I make cooking you wouldn’t ask 😂😂

BlueBelle Sat 29-Oct-22 23:06:19

No never owned one and never worn one well maybe at school
Perhaos I don’t need one as I cook as little as possible

harrigran Sat 29-Oct-22 23:07:30

Yes I do, I wear my son's woodwork aprons from the 1980s.
They are strong twill and can be boil washed.

nadateturbe Sat 29-Oct-22 23:15:20

I don't wear it all day, but yes I have several. I wear them if I'm doing housework or baking and also when painting. Not always, sometimes I wear old joggers and tops.
It makes sense to me. No point in spoiling good clothes. My husband wears one in the kitchen.

Razzamatazz Sat 29-Oct-22 23:24:00

I've asked for one for Christmas.

Granddaughter, 2, saw mine and asked - Whazzat? Bib?
