Do you wear a pinny?

I only wear an apron on one day of the year, on Christmas Day when I am dressed ready to greet my guests.

I do all my food preparations in my casual clobber in the morning, then shower , make-up, hair and dress.

Pinny then donned to protect me until I sit to the table.

Yes i always wear a pinny when i cook, bake etc. I would be a right mess otherwise!! I love my pinnies and could do with more really. Looking out for one for christmas at the moment!

Always when baking or else I end up with more ingredients down me than in the recipe. Also wear an old one when bleach is being used, I have lost count of the times a pair of jeans have ended up with a white patch.

For years I only wore one for baking, because my mother insisted when we were children that we wore them, all the time in the house.

I felt ridiculous, as none of my school friends had to, but my mother was not British by birth and kept in some respects to the traditions she had been brought up with.

Now due to rising electricity prices and the need to wash clothes less often, I have started wearing aprons, with or without bibs again.

Currently I only have two, but have cut out the cloth for two more, just not got round to sewing them yet.

Yes - always when cooking and then eating afterwards. Love a pinny. I have several.

Always. Friends tease me but I think pinnies are essential and indispensable.
Keep this messy person clean, loads of bits and pieces in the pockets. Easy to wash .
I love my pinny. ❤️❤️❤️

Never, I have never owned let alone worn one and really can't see that changing.

Yes I wear an apron if I am preparing and or serving food. I was a nurse all my working life and wore an apron for many years. I see it as hygiene.

Here is a clearly explained video with an idea for a tabard which is far more use to me than a half apron or even one with a silly little bib which doesn't cover all your front.

In fact, what I really need is one of those bibs with sleeves that toddlers have.

I always do when baking because I always make a mess. When it comes to Christmas thegrandchildren expect their granddad to be in a pinny getting dinner ready

I have two different kinds. Lived in portugal and they have these aprons with lovely embroidery on and it has a large pocket you can access straight through the at the women are able to walk along kitting and then shove it into the pocket bit whilst doing other things with their hands. I found this wonderful when my son was young. any toys or cleaning stuff or whatever needed upstairs could be shoved in the pocket and then hands free to go upstairs, empty them out and bring down other things in the same way. But have 2 or 3 proper aprons that cover well with the bib bit as I used to make my own bread and other rather messy things where I could end up with flour etc all over. Now if you see them in the shops they are stupid little things and dont really cover you well. I mentioned it to a friend who sews and she has already made 5 or 6 which she is donating to the christmas charity fair and she has said she already has people asking her for these so think we are all going to be happy. She will make what we want and the charity gets a donation.

I always wear one for baking and occasionally cooking if I’m wearing a favourite top. I had been wearing my mum’s old Ringtons Tea apron for years until my last birthday when DH bought me a Great British bake off star baker apron. I’m currently on the lookout for a child’s pinny as I’ve just started to get my DGD doing a bit of baking with me.

Never have but I should do because I’m very messy. I’ve never thought about the hygiene angle but it’s certainly a thought …
