My favourite is Rhod Gilbert and my least favourite is Jimmy Carr

Love Rhod Gilbert and his electric toothbrush, his suitcase and the last mince pie😂( Get well soon Rhod.) Love Canadian comedian Stewart Francis with his one liners Think he may have retired now? Also James Acaster. Have to concentrate with him too but I’ve laughed till I’ve cried. No time for Jimmy Carr. Enjoyed the late Jethro on TV years ago but saw him live about 5 years ago and he was foul. Just desperate. And as for Frankie Boyle ………..

Jo Brand 👍. Keith Lemmon 👎.

NotAGran55 Tue 01-Nov-22 05:58:31

Lee Mack, Stuart Francis, Jo Brand 👏
Michael McIntyre, Billy Connolly, Ben Elton 👎

NotAGran55 Tue 01-Nov-22 06:01:49

Stewart not Stuart.
His final ‘ Into the punset’ gig was hysterical.

Michael Macintyre is the only one who makes me laugh out loud but can't stand game shows so don't watch him on those.

People who I find funny and sorry but I can’t pick just one include Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, Jeremy Hardy, Bob Mortimer, Billy Connolly, Mike Harding, Tim Minchin, Barry Cryer, Sean Lock, Tim Vine, Dave Allan, Bill Hicks (and yes I know many of them are dead).
Those who I find totally unfunny include Michael McIntyre, Roy Chubby Brown, Jim Davidson, Sarah Millican, Gina Yashere.

Michael McIntyre is probably my least favourite. Favourite though is a difficult one. We’ve seen Billy Connolly and Eddie Izard live several times and both were a hoot. Many years ago I went with dad to his works do - mum was working so couldn’t go. I was about 16 and felt very grown up in a long dress going to a posh dinner dance with my dad! Bob Monkhouse was the cabaret. He was so funny and so rude and I’ve never forgotten it.

People have named so many comedians not with us now, I thought of today's., we used to have really great ones, like Morecombe and Wise, a great double act. A lot of comedians now rely on bad language and snide remarks about people which I dislike. I know my favourite come fun st the moment can be near the mark on late shows, but he is
so quick witted with his one liners, whenever he was on Truth or Lie I laughed til I cried, but didn't watch him in his family sit com as I just found it silly and not funny.
Another person I like is David Mitchell, he is sharp as a razor with his swift and funny anecdotes. I don't care for the new wave of women comedians who endlessly talk about periods and menopause, with a bit if man bashing thrown in, don't find them funny.

I have always liked the late Sir Ken Dodd he could hold an audience for hours you could never get him off the stage I used to laugh before he even opened his mouth,I also like John Bishop.
I just can't watch Jimmy Carr or Chubby Brown/Sarah Millican I always reach for the off button on the remote.

❤️ Michael McIntyre, Billy Connolly
and among the departed Victoria Wood, Ken Dod, Morecambe and Wise and Ronnie Barker.
👎 Jon Richardson, Jimmy Carr, Romesh

Susie42 Tue 01-Nov-22 08:56:00

Ken Dodd, Frankie Howard, Les Dawson, and the two Bills Bailey and Connelly. Their comedy was never malicious or cruel. Some of today’s so-called comedians are just not funny.

HowVeryDareYou Tue 01-Nov-22 09:02:59

I love Mickey Flanagan, Rhod Gilbert, Stewart Francis, Alan Carr, the late Sean Lock.

I don't find any women comedians funny. I can't stand Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Michael McIntyre, or Lee Evans,

Love - Micky Flanagan, Billy Connelly, Bill Bailey, Sean Lock, Lee Mack, John Bishop, Stewart Francis, Romesh, Rhod Gilbert, the late great Dave Allen.

A vote for Jenny Eclair's recent tour - Sixty! (FFS!) - I laughed until I cried!

Not a fan of Keith Lemon (can't stand to look at him), Ben Elton or Frankie Boyle.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 01-Nov-22 10:23:10

I love Rob Brydon, Lee Mack, Hugh Dennis, Henning Wehn & Sara Millican

I dislike Jimmy Carr, Couldn’t watch Benny Hill I found him offensive on so many levels, not a particular fan of Ben Elton.

(My late Mum (85 when she died 5 years ago) absolutely adored Keith Lemon, she always said that he was so naughty and over the top nothing like how she was brought up)

Coolgran65 Tue 01-Nov-22 10:30:03

Love Scottish Comedian Kevin Bridges
Also John Bishop, Lee Mack, Billy Connolly, so many....
But definitely not Jimmy Carr, Keith Lemon.

Never liked Jim Davidson

Silvergirl Tue 01-Nov-22 18:02:11

Best: Billy Connolly
Worst: Jimmy Carr

JackyB Tue 01-Nov-22 18:11:47

I like many of those named above but only Michael MacIntyre can make me laugh so I went myself (sorry if TMI)

I didn't like the old Frankie Boyle - he's probably embarrassed himself at his old jokes.

I love anyone with an accent and have an enormous crush on Ed Byrne and Dylan Moran and just want to hug Kevin Bridges.

For the more cerebral you can't beat Robin Williams.

varian Tue 01-Nov-22 18:13:39

Not quite comedians but I love "Dead Ringers"
