Here we are again
Happy to be together
All good pals
and jolly good company.

WELCOME to you lovely lot.

soop I am amazed that 4 legged minx has not moved in permanently. I would love to and if she does not make up her mind soon I may beat her to it.

I cannot believe the T has been 16C in NW London today-unbelievable and some miserable soul said snow was expected soon.

No doubt we will still be having fireworks but at least it is quiet now long before midnight.

Look after yourselves, I finished a lovely bottle of wine last night so that will be it for another week.

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. I have been cycling, pottering, Gaelic and a little dusting. I have horrendous chilblains so not doing anything that requires manual dexterity as I need to wear gloves or my hands just feel freezing cold. I don’t know why they’re so much worse than usual! I’m snuggled up in my Oodie now, listening to Nigel Slater.

Hope you are all well and hope things are improving for you Soop.

brook2704 Fri 11-Nov-22 17:07:05

They’re such beautiful cards Yia you’re so talented and must be very patient - well done!
Hope you’re feeling ok again soon BA take care
A lazy afternoon here in our apartment just sat by the window watching the world go by and reading my book, we can’t get any UK TV here so we’re just listening to some nice relaxing music. Will be popping out later for a glass of vino and something to eat 😀

brook2704 Fri 11-Nov-22 17:09:46

Hope those chilblains are better soon blossoming they sound really painful - can you get any of those hand warmers if they help?

soop Fri 11-Nov-22 17:11:45

Dear You lovely lot, I awoke in some discomfort from a UTI. Did a few jobs about the house and went back to bed as instructed by Mr Soop. Awoke just fifteen minutes ago, pain-free. So, I am now about to chase my tail. [hmm[

A large box of different stoma products has been delivered. Samples include bags designed to manage the extra bulge. We're about to try one.

Much love to you all. I shall need to read through the numerous messages that I've missed in the morning.

Enjoy the weekend. smile moon

Nannytopsy Fri 11-Nov-22 17:58:29

I hope your new supplies are successful soop. 🤞
Congratulations on your new home Muse - you must be so pleased. Enjoy organising it.
I hade a gardener for two hours this morning with young knees! He was a great help and is coming again next week. We have spotted that a rat has dug into the greenhouse and eaten a whole box of the birds’ fatballs. More rat bait tomorrow then!
Then I went to the dentist. I need a crown and the bill is £999. I can’t believe how the cost has gone up!
I came home and did some good work on DGS’s cot quilt. Another couple of hours and the top will be pieced. 😊
It’s nearly time to start the weekend with a glass of something!
Hope everyone has a good weekend

Jaxjacky Fri 11-Nov-22 19:16:38

Hi all, that looks amazing muse, very homely.
I was in Marks food shop for a collection today, picked up some Christmas kitchen and loo roll, grandchildren will love it, MrJ rolled his eyes! I think someone here mentioned it, thank you.
I hope you feel better now BA and your extra ‘bits’ do the job soop.
Dinner, quiche, is on.
Have a lovely evening all x

‘Evening All’

And we’re home! Flight was great, on time too. Taxi rank had no queue, fantastic. Not raining either that’s a plus for Manchester! £27 in a black cab and home from the airport in 14 minutes. Perfect journey.

We’ve just had tea and toast. The decorator has been whilst we were away so we’ve everything to put back in the bathroom and bedroom tomorrow morning, plus the floors need a mop. Himself put the wooden blind up at the bedroom window lickety split. My hero.

Just had a text. L’il Miss is ‘desperate to see you’ 😁
The feeling’s mutual darling girl. She’s going to be dropped off here at 10am whilst big brother goes to football with his dad and mum goes to get a manicure. My daughter said ‘no problem mum if you’re busy she can tag along with me’.
Get away with you, I can’t wait!

I think we’d all feel the same wouldn’t we?
🥰

Welcome home Urms! I had a lovely morning watching two lectures from the V&A on line. The first was on French interiors and the second on Italian Interiors. I love Italian design and one of the houses featured had an emerald green lounge not unlike the one in my own humble abode! I finally bit the bullet after lunch and ordered Christmas cards and one or two presents for my Australian relatives. I cooked chicken tagine for dinner and afterwards, while OH watched a strange sci-fi on Amazon Prime I watched a couple of Crowns on my iPad. At least OH and I were in the same room, albeit each wearing headphones!

nanna8 Fri 11-Nov-22 23:05:04

Welcome back Urmstongran and nice to hear of a good flight after some of the horror stories lately. Hope everyone is well. It is a bit of an overcast morning here with rain expected. Mustn’t complain because the garden is a bit dry after a couple of hotties. My daughter told me about a site on Facebook called view from my window- it is fascinating and seems to be very much world wide.

soop Sat 12-Nov-22 15:03:12

Yia Your creations are stunning. You must have the patience of a saint.

BladeAnnie hmm What was it that the dentist used to "intoxicate" you? Magic mushrooms, perhaps? You were wise to forego the glass of wine.

soop Sat 12-Nov-22 15:11:22

Nannytopsy Pass the smelling salts! £999 for a crown! For that sum, I would expect the crown jewels.

Urms A warm welcome home. And yes...*Li'l Miss* is going to make your heart leap for joy when she arrives for hugs.

I am sampling the new hernia stoma products that were delivered yesterday. Am still waiting for a phone call asking for my measurements for a sexy truss. wink

BladeAnnie Sat 12-Nov-22 16:10:11

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. I think I feel back to my normal self - just incredibly tired 💤💤. I've done some Christmas wrapping this morning - almost all done just a couple of big boxes to do then all ready to go to santa 🎁🎅. I've manged to get a photo of the poppy display on our house and one or two from around the village. Quite an amazing effort by the Poppy Gang 👏. Watching the Mighty Blades on TV atm - no goals as yet. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of Saturday. TOYA

soop Sat 12-Nov-22 17:06:42

BladeAnnie I love the poppy displays that you have kindly shared with us.
Take things easy. Listen to your body. It knows BEST. flowers

Away to enjoy a brew and read the newspaper. Is it foolish of me to expect good news?

I shall raise a glass of G&T to you all at 8:30 precisely. So looking forward to it. smile moon

Hello everyone. No baking today but I did another batch of WI admin. When I was first asked to take over as Secretary, I was told there was little work, simply taking notes at meetings. They lied. I spent a lot of the afternoon pinning, tacking and sewing some new curtains for the downstairs loo. I had resolved not to make my own curtains anymore, but these are are only one width each. We had the room decorated a year ago and it’s style is ‘Barbara Cartland Pink’. I made some curtains with pink puddings and jellies as the pattern. I think the fabric is too thick and doesn’t hang well. So, I tracked down the matching fabric for the wallpaper. I’ve had to order some more heading tape which I’ll Click and Collect tomorrow. OH is cooking chicken curry for dinner which I’m looking forward to. Soop - I do hope your new stoma products are a roaring success. Have a good evening everyone.

‘Evening All’

I must say, much as I ❤️ Màlaga, it’s lovely to be home! ‘Different strokes for different folks’ really.

I imagine most of you are tuned into ‘Strictly’ right now! 😊

We’ve had a great day one way and another. Just up from the bar downstairs. Chicken and jacket potatoes were set in the oven before we went down! Delicious oven smells now and eating in 10.

Your curtains sound fabulous LLFL your bold ideas add panache I suspect. Not everyone (me) can do this. Take a bow.

The poppy display on your houses is pretty amazing BladeAnnie!

This year the cadets were out in force in our square selling poppies. I donated for one but L’il Miss wanted a ‘poppy wrist band’ (nice touch for the young ‘uns). We walked away then she said “grandma, can I go back and get one for J (her brother) he’d like one too and it’s more money for all the soldiers’. Aw.
Good idea chick.

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Nov-22 19:29:42

Evening Kitcheners. I was at a lovely craft fair this morning and bought a few things. However since then I've coughed and coughed and feel a bit miserable. The boys have a cold so I think I've caught it from them. An early night for me I think. Have a good evening all you lovely folk.

Blossoming Sat 12-Nov-22 19:59:23

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Your day sounds wonderful Urms: children are so precious. Sorry you’re feeling poorly Grandmabatty, look after yourself. Hope the buggeration is on the run soon Soop.

I’m struggling using the iPad with my new Raynauds gloves on, but the horrible chilblains are definitely getting better so I shall persevere. Have a good evening all, TOYA.

brook2704 Sat 12-Nov-22 20:31:07

Good to hear those chilblains are getting a bit better Blossoming sounds like you’ve really been suffering
Hope your early night helps grandmabatty and you feel a bit better tomorrow
We went out this evening just to walk around the old town and see the buildings all lit up, it was a really good atmosphere with lots of families still out and about. We were walking past an Art museum and just stopped to look at the display in the window. A lovely Spanish lady started talking to me asking if we liked Spanish classical guitar music because if we did there was a free concert just about to start - that was more or less what I understood anyhow! So we went in and enjoyed an hour or so of beautiful music played by some very talented musicians. An impromptu concert but thoroughly enjoyable!
Good that you’re home safely Urms and had a special day with L’il Miss 😍
Love the pictures BA thanks for sharing

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Nov-22 21:12:10

Hope they help Blossoming I also use hot hands inside my gloves when it’s very cold, plus their equivalent for feet, Raynauds is a pain, I’ve had it since my 20’s.
Had to do weeding today, well spraying, of patio and driveway, no frost to do the job.
Very fitting BA.
How lovely brook.
Enjoy the rest of your evening all x

Does anyone know what has happened to grannyactivist please ? I haven't seen her for ages.

annsixty Sat 12-Nov-22 22:14:13

A late good evening everyone.
We have had a frustrating day here in the Stockport area.
The water went off at 6pm last evening with no warning.
Until people tried to fill kettles, flush lavatories or take a shower we had no idea.
It was on Facebook from about 8/9 pm.
Two water stations were set up but they were only open until 8pm , opening at 8 am.
My S fetched us some , we were allowed 12 litres however my GD and her friend got another 12 and then my S went out to get some bits and saw a third one so collected another 6 bottles.
The supply was” restored “ during the afternoon but was ver low pressure.
I have just run some to take my nighttime tabs and it is brown so I am using bottled.
This is reported to be due to a power cut.
In any power cut in my lifetime the water has never been affected.
I dread to think what we are facing this winter as power cuts are forecast.
I feel very unsettled and fearful.
Am I being a pessimist?

She posted in September when her grandchild was born. I haven’t noticed her posting since then.

That sounds horrendous AnnSixty, I’m not looking forward to winter!
