Hello all. Our cleaners came today so my house is now sparkling. The gardener is here now planting bulbs. It’s freezing so I’ve taken her a cup of tea. I had a good telephone consultation with my GP today. It does seem that my various scans have been ok apart from niggly things like diverticulitis. Even my bone density scan was encouraging. There has been a slight improvement so I am basically stable. My GP wants me to have a chat with a liver specialist, even though the scan of my liver was fine! She wants me to have a couple more blood tests too. She reckoned I have never had such an expensive MOT. So, as some others have discovered, the NHS can be brilliant. I am popping round to see a friend tonight. She had fallen out with a mutual friend. They have both been on the telephone to me, complaining about the other! I don’t want to be piggy in the middle. Basically I told them they are too old now for fisticuffs!

I seem to have missed the kitchen lately and am amazed at how busy it is. Glad that someone is at last listening to Soop (not before time) and hope for a good outcome. Lovely curtains, adorable naughty small boys and worries over DCs, so lots to think about.

Am exhausted by a few hours C shopping but a fruitful expedition and lunch out, so all good. Some admin to do then that’s it for today. I really don’t have the stamina I once did.

cornergran Thu 10-Nov-22 15:29:03

Good news ladylfl, it seems the MoT continues with no major worries so far. It always cheers me to hear the NHS at its best

Thank you all for understanding the what might have been itch from number two sons exploits. He’s back on the road today, no great anxiety in me. Not sure how that happened. We’ll see his wife tomorrow, I suspect a big hug will be in order.

Take care everyone.

Yiayia4 Thu 10-Nov-22 16:22:13

Pleased all is well with your DS Cornergran.

I’ve been doing my diamond art Christmas cards, not many left to do now. Will post some pics when finished.

DS has his twin visiting at the weekend.I’m very happy about this as they are still very close and I’m sure he will benefit from being with his brother.

Nearly dark already winter draws on.Have a pleasant evening everyone.

soop Thu 10-Nov-22 16:52:33

Yia I always enjoy your beautiful creations.

Welcome back, GrannySomerset I know the feeling that you describe VERY well. Although I have managed a 30 min pedal on the exercise bike.

corner A group hug especially for you. smile

Llfl Positive news regarding your health MOT
Good luck with being "piggy in the middle". Best listen to both friends and not get too embroiled in their antics. wink

A near hurricane is blowing outside. The waves are huge and white-capped. SweetiePie (feral cat) has banqueted in royal style. It's time to say goodnight to you lovely people. I shall join you in the morning on second son's 59th birthday. Bless his cotton socks.

Good evening dear kitcheners 😊 Urmstongran you are so right those small people are just the best aren't they?? I spent today with my little poppets giving DD1 some time to go shopping. When I hear "nanna" it just melts my heart 💗💗 soop do not be ashamed or embarrassed by your photo - it's part of you and you are amongst good friends here in the kitchen 🥰. Chicken Kievs are calling from my kitchen so I'll wish you all a very pleasant evening. TOYA 🌷

Urmstongran Thu 10-Nov-22 18:23:05

‘Evening All’

Just a quick pop in to the kitchen. Meeting friends downstairs in Pedro’s soon. There’s a glass of Ribera with my name on it.
🍷 and a plate of Nelly’s food. She’s Argentinian and a great cook. The bar is very popular with the locals, so no touristy prices (which is why it’s so affordable to eat there frequently!).

I’ll have anything apart from shellfish. Himself will have his favourite gambas pil-pil which will have to last him till 7th January.
😁

GrannyGravy13 Thu 10-Nov-22 18:31:19

Irmstongran I love Gambas pil pil ❤️🍤

I have had a lovely afternoon of fun, friends and fizz at an afternoon tea celebrating my dear friends 60th. A perfect excuse for all of us to put on our best tea dresses and talk nin stop for four hours.

Have a good night folks 🙋‍♀️

That’s really worrying charleygírl keep safe and take care
Another gorgeous day here. Like Urms has already said it’s really warm for November - I wasn’t expecting to have to use so sunscreen and sit in the shade! We had a lovely day in Villajoyosa, lunch in a beachfront cafe and a walk through the town. We didn’t have the Gambas Pil Pil but other tasty tapas. We got a bit lost on the way back to the tram so I had to practice my Spanish asking for directions… it worked out ok and we found it eventually
Hope muse has settled in ok and will be back with us soon
Sounds like you’ve been busy grandmabatty with renewed energy - dont overdo it!
That’s a good thorough MOT llfl
Good to see you grannysomerset 😀

Such a busy two days. Hello kitcheners. It's late in the evening and my weary body needs our big bed in our new home. The move in goes well. King size bed again - toilet and shower under the same roof - no dampness surrounding us. I've had so much GN support over the past few years - to now say I have moved fills me with joy. Thank you.

The plumber arrived on Monday to say valves are needed on the boiler and solar thermal - new building regs. This involves the electrician too but it didn't hold up the move.

I love our new home. I thought I had posted a photo here last week but, if not, here is part of the kitchen area in the open plan room.

Tomorrow I continue to move crockery and clothes.

Urmstongran Thu 10-Nov-22 22:33:12

I have kitchen envy muse.
Seriously.
It’s lovely to hear how happy you are. Well deserved. 🏠😊

soop Fri 11-Nov-22 10:35:12

Another here with serious kitchen envy muse. Wow!

Blossoming Fri 11-Nov-22 11:15:48

hulahoop Fri 11-Nov-22 11:34:42

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Nov-22 11:46:49

Just back from the gym, DH has popped next door to pick up The Imp from pre-school, so anticipating a busy afternoon.

Love the kitchen muse

brook2704 Fri 11-Nov-22 11:53:19

Beautiful kitchen muse thanks for the picture - is there room for us all in there sometime? 😀 send some more pictures please!

Enjoy your afternoon with The Imp GG!

Grandmabatty Fri 11-Nov-22 13:12:39

I love your kitchen Muse. Have such a wonderful time kitting out your new home. Happy times with The Imp, Grannygravy.
I'm just home from visiting my friend. She's having a rotten time with her health. She lent me a book called The Twycross Code which looks intriguing. So a bit of sewing and some reading this afternoon. It's very windy so I might not garden. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Yiayia4 Fri 11-Nov-22 15:17:46

Love your kitchen Muse. I hope you will both be happy in your beautiful new home.
Spain still looks warm and sunny Brooke enjoy.

Waiting for a dishwasher replacement, not a year old and not working how I hate washing up! Curry tonight at our local restaurant.
A few of my Christmas diamond art cards to bring you some Christmas cheer.

kittylester Fri 11-Nov-22 15:34:51

Loving tge kitchen muse.

What patience those cards must take yiayia

Grandmabatty we live relatively close to 2 Twycrosses - intriguing.

Prentice Fri 11-Nov-22 15:55:35

Yiayia4 those cards are lovely, and yes my Winter drawers are already on, very large ones as I easily feel the chill.

Soop I don’t think that is a good name for a feral cat, SweetyPie grin

I bought three packs of lovely Christmas cards from a good cause charity shop today, my first bit of thinking about that time of year.

Grandmabatty Fri 11-Nov-22 16:10:38

Kitty I am eternally daft. It is The Twyford Code, not Twycross. It is very unusual in structure but I'm enjoying it so far. Yiayia your Christmas cards are lovely.

kittylester Fri 11-Nov-22 16:17:29

As am I, grandmabatty - one of our Twycrosses is actually a Twyford. I think I'll go for a lie down now!

BladeAnnie Fri 11-Nov-22 16:37:59

Good afternoon everyone 😊. Yia those cards are beautiful and muse love that kitchen! We've had the dentist today - thankfully our teeth are still doing OK 👍. I've felt a bit strangely light-headed since I got up from the dentist chair. I feel a bit removed from things - almost as if I'm intoxicated!! That's definitely not the case and I think I might be saying I'll pass on the glass of wine tonight 😭😭. Sending a gentle group hug and wishing you all a pleasant evening. TOYA
