Before I tackle yet more ironing, I wish to tell you that a phone call from Glasgow stoma nurse has informed us that the ladies from England will be measuring my hernia on the 16th of this month. I shall await further details with great interest. The hernia pushes further out on a daily basis. The nurse has also instructed the organisation who supply stoma appliances to up my order of new equipment. A bonus day!

Back to the ironing board. Will return later this after.

Please forgive my ageing memory, I too hope the news you are waiting for from your DD is good.

I wrote a long post last Thursday and promptly lost it and since then I've been playing catch up. It's taken me an hour just to read all your posts too and I know I'm going to miss bits so lots of apologies. SueD... Prayers for your daughter that it may turn out better than expected. GN's I'm loving reading about your precious times with your Grandchildren. The dreaded saddle pain was joined by a aching pain where the sun doesn't shine which didn't go away. I dreaded mentioning it to the GP as I knew she'd want to examine me .. I've never been great at that put your ankles together and drop your knees... It's always more lock my knees and drop my ankles. The midwife said to me when I was having DD1....Mrs E...you are going to have to take your knickers off to have this baby. !!!. Any way in the end she said thought it was probably a slight prolapse ( I didn't think I had anything left to prolapse but hey ho) or internal haemorrhoids ( didn't know you could get them either). She says they could have been caused by lifting heavy weights as opposed to the usual culprits. Any way if it doesn't respond to treatment I'll be off to be seen in outpatients by the 'team'. Now don't get me wrong I know people choose their careers but I do struggle with what makes someone want to spend their working life looking at or inspecting rear ends.... Just saying!!!!!
Anyway moving swiftly on...DOH has the lurgy now so it was a quiet Friday evening before the marathon day on Saturday. We were covering for the stewards again from 10.30 to 2.30. Then a quick dash to the weekly meeting for people becoming Catholics (DOH not me...I already am). I've been going to and find it very uplifting and thought provoking (especially for someone who had been a Catholic since birth). We are following a course of videos by Father Stephen Wang and it's very easy to watch...the questions afterwards seem to be getting harder though. Then back for another shift until 12.30am. Needless to say neither of us was too chirpy come Sunday. I left for London on the coach mid afternoon ( meant I could work on the way and it worked out far cheaper than driving). I'm staying in an Airbnb about 3 miles from where the research is taking place. So far it's going ok and hopefully when my deputy runs Thursday and Friday it will be the same as thete is no wriggle room to pick up any no shows. They all seem to be enjoying it and beinh paid £40 for 30 minutes is definitely a sweetener. I met with my buddy of nearly 30 years last evening. Lots of laughter and tears too when I read her the message I sent DD3 on her 40th birthday and ended up blubbing in the middle of the restaurant. I miss her...simple as that.
I'm sending lots of love to all of you ...especially poorly peeps and sad peeps too.
Soop DOH is so grateful that I went on a pudding hunt for you as he has one now too!!🤣

SueD - sorry to hear about your DD. Hopefully the news is better than you expect and you can enjoy to trip down south!

Back again. I’ve read the thread, Neine you do make me laugh! I thought the same thing about my lovely surgeon, but I’m glad he decided to take an interest in bottoms Also I snoozed in my comfy chair and blanket most of the afternoon. I just want to sleep all the time. Luckily there is nothing pressing to be done, but I can’t keep my eyes open. Mr. B and I need to compile a shopping list this evening so we won’t be having to battle any crowds come Christmas. Must remember to put mince pies on there, our local bakery makes delicious ones and they freeze well. We’re pretty much organised, I’m expecting a delivery in the next day or two for some woodworking bits I’ve bought him for stocking fillers. DPD, not Royal Mail so should be OK.

He’s promised home made fish and chips for tea so I’d better unwrap myself soon.

I’ve been out today. Hair-doo done, most pleased with it. Layered up, same length with a blunt cut. Then this evening I joined quite a few ‘virtual friends’ in the bar downstairs, chatting about sherry and alcohol in general. 😁

I’m just back home now after being out all day, I met DD2 straight after the school run this morning and we went Christmas shopping in town. I had lots of news to catch up on so it was a typical day of DD2 talking and me listening with just a few comments when I could get a word in.🤣 we picked up the DGC from school and went back to theirs for pizza. It was lovely seeing the DGC again, I helped DGD with her homework and then helped out by taking DGS to cubs and picking up too.
Sorry to hear your DGS is still poorly grandmabatty hope he’s a bit better tomorrow

I remember that lovely photo Maw, it doesn`t seem 5 years.
I went to the registrar and the undertakers with DIL today, neither of her boys would go. We now have a funeral date, December 22nd.

It will be good not to have the funeral hanging over you all over Christmas Hellogirl but what a sad, sad time. We have worries about littlest fella (18 months) as over the last two months he has developed what they first thought was a spot/cyst/infection on his little cheek. It has got bigger despite antibiotics but he is not poorly in himself. However people have started noticing that it is growing. It may be an Infant Haemangioma and D saw a paediatric dermatologist today and is seeing someone more specialised next week. I just pray and pray and pray it is not malignant and try not to think about it. I offered her the money to see a specialist privately a few weeks ago as the NHS seemed to very slow in its “fast tracking” but they are adults in their 40’s and I cannot organise their lives for them. Plus they seemed to trust their doctor so who am I to say. I can only repeat the offer. . Like all of us I would lie down on front of a bus for my grandchildren and I go cold sometimes worrying.
Enough of this I must be positive .

Hello everyone. I am sorry to read so much difficult news and pray that all will be well. It was the WI coffee morning today. Very enjoyable and the tiffin I had was delicious. Sadly one of our members (over 80 and used to be younger son’s choir mistress) has had a stroke and the outlook is bleak. She used to make the best soup for the church Christmas bazaar. I caught up with Lucy Worsley’s programme about Agatha Christie while OH watched football. Good night. Tomorrow is a new day.

We have the granddog so I have hired the village dog field and DS is bringing his dogs over to give her 30 minutes of intense exercise! Then we have to wrap up our banana plant for the winter. It has survived two winters so far but mild ones.
I am beginning to panic about Christmas. Still so much to do …

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Very cold and bright again, I am feeling a little less dopey, I guess my long sleep yesterday did some good! I’ve actually managed to cross a few things off my everlasting todo list. I realised yesterday that I haven’t heard ack about my last CT scan on 28th October. It has to go to the lung consultant first before it goes to my cancer surgeon so can take a while. I’m not worrying about it but mustn’t lose track. I’m thinking no news is good news.

A very cold day here in Inverness today although the snow hasn’t arrived yet. I had a good catch up with pals at the gym and DH and I went to the garden centre for a coffee afterwards. It’s already so dark here so won’t be doing much more today

Whoa! Where have the hours gone? I'm wondering, have I been busy, or do I imagine that I have?

Maw your photograph is super-special. Your love for each other shines through. I can well imagine how disturbing and concerning it is for you and your family having your wee grandson needing to see a specialist. Talk to us lot as often as you wish. Sending positive vibes and love.

Hellogirl Darling lady, you too have had to arrange the funeral of your son without the support of your husband, David. I admire you. On the 22nd, your dear son will be finally at rest. You will be in our thoughts.

Blossoming You are also in my thoughts. Please keep us updated. I have a sense that the news will be good and your patience will be rewarded.

Several of our lovely Kitcheners are feeling anxious. You all matter. Us lot are good listeners. Please share if it helps you to cope.

We took a wee stroll early this morning. It was frosty underfoot. Mr Soop is worried that the bad spell of weather may arrive at the time when we may need to motor to Glasgow for the measurements of the hernia to be taken. I have asked him not to fret. We'll manage to arrange something positive. Needs must.

Away to make a All the ironing is done. I find it to be relaxing, as did my mother and Nana.

I shall be with you again tomorrow. That is a promise.

Oh Maw what a worry for you. I too would lay down my life for my DC and DGC.

I am gaining strength all the time and, consequently, overdo it most days. DH is very patient with me.

Maw, so sorry that you have this worry about your grandson. I do so hope that everything turns out alright. x
